RenamedUser_92906789 Players 5,828 posts Report post #51 Posted November 6, 2016 I wont argue what line is the best, I will just speak from my experience. As for the USN I really wanted the Cleveland. St. Luis turned out to be fun ship as well. Didnt grind past Cleveland so I wont say about them. As for the KM I liked the Koenigsberg and the Nurmberg. Squishy fun ships that can pack a punch if played correctly. I havent got pass Yorck, but its a tough thip to play. The hydro is nice, arcs are nice.. As for the IJN there is a grand prize called Zao. Perhaps someday I will have it. I enjoy Furutaka and Myoko, but the Mogami nerf kinda discouraged me. As for the RU they are pretty fun. I like Budyonni, Schors and Chapayev. Great and accurate He spammers. If I have to choose I would say RU > IJN > USN == KM.

Guillotine ∞ Players 401 posts 7,897 battles Report post #53 Posted November 6, 2016 IJN cruiser line has been best untill i hit the Mogami. This ship feels out of place, its 155 isnt bad the turret traverse is just unbelivable bad for role its intented ( Supporting DD's vs enemy DD ). But its playable with 155 and skipping B hull, citadel is massive and BB wants to fire at your weak citadel. USN line is meh, gone to Cleveland and its nothing special bit frustrating due low caliber but this line has quite agile ships. I do not fear US cruisers in any situation. I can comment those lines, but soviet line as opponent feels very potent thx to long range and good RoF, as down side they are quite sluggish and easy to citadel. I think that's just what the game needed. WG have released a line of ships that fits a niche for people, and I hope the RN BBs will be the same. the trouble is you can have really awesome games in those rn ships then again you have those really aweful games where you get anihilated by 1 salvo even you did nothing wrong (you cant outspot dds and you need to take some risk in those boats since you dont have the range to sit back) inconsitency is the worst thing you can have when looking for something "good" thats why i ranked them last place. (i would make an exception for the "OP" belfast but since its a premium with other characteristics it doesnt count) (in adition to [edited] hard below tier 6) Edited November 6, 2016 by RogDodgeUK This post has been edited by a member of the Moderation Team, due to inappropriate content.~RogDodgeUK

[P0RT] Admiral_H_Nelson Players 3,938 posts 23,206 battles Report post #65 Posted November 6, 2016 Which cruiser line do you think is the best? I've been playing USN line for quite a while now but getting a bit frustrated/bored with it (currently up to the Pensacola). I gave the Furutaka a few games recently and had great fun with it. Just wanted to hear other people's opinions on their favorite lines. Use of the word "fun" in the OP's post muddies the waters a bit. If by "best" you mean "most effective in dealing damage to the enemy and winning games" then I would give the cruiser lines (out of 10): 9 = Russia 8 = Royal Navy & Japan (tied) 7 = Germany 5 = USA If by "best" you mean "most fun", then speaking purely personally 9 = Russia 8 = USA 7 = Germany 6 = Japan 1 = Royal Navy (but see my praise for the line as being a good one - I just don't like the "Destroyer like " playstyle that I have encountered so far)
[NWP] 159Hunter Players 4,528 posts Report post #66 Posted November 6, 2016 The US line is a bit special, I love Phoenix up to and including Pensacola, NO and Baltimore just didn't work for me but boy, the Des Moines is my go to ship for high tier games. That cruiser is ridiculously strong and very fun to play. I'm glad I endured tier VIII and IX, cause the reward is amazing. The RU line was so much fun to play and I raced through it in no time, most noteworthy were the Shchors and Chapyev, two great ships for their tier. The Moskva let me down at first, but I'm finally starting to like that big RU boat. The IJN line is something I still need to do, just to see how OP the Zao really is The KM line is great, slowly working my way up ( at Hipper now ) and must say it's a very consistent line that has yet to let me down. As for the UK line, I try them, but I fear they don't really suit my playstyle, too much paper.

[NA-CL] Siekam Players 28 posts 14,808 battles Report post #70 Posted November 14, 2016 Well, here is my two cents on the issue. In order of preference. KM= Love 'em, got to the Hindenburg which is a real beast. Not the most tanky of cruisers but definitely not made of cardboard like the RN or USN. I usually use HE down to 12km, after that I switch to AP and the real damage output can start (yesterday I met a Minotaur, with full hp, hiding behind an island at 4 km distance. Killed him in one salvo before he even got his torps off). They can deal quite consistent damage to BB's at long range, gradually breaking them down without starting fires, and have great arc's. Angled targets can be a problem but usually you get some hits to the superstructure so you deal some damage anyway. Great reload speeds and with the rudder shift upgrade they become quite manouverable, and shell dispersion is divine! SN= Love these too. Great long range firestarters and a great solution to the "BB problem". I’m at tier 8 (Chapayev) at the moment and it is a great ship. They’re quite large and have great range so you might want to hang back near your friendly BB’s and just lob HE across the map at their BB’s. They have great reload speeds, right up there with KM. Got the acceleration boost upgrade on this one, and the DE skill is a must (firechance on my chapayev with DE and the 2 increased firechance signals, is 18%). RN= Hated these at first. Like most of you, for the first week after their release I was filled with rage directed at WG for screwing up this line (and I’m not even British). To be honest, first tiers were a real drag. At leander, they suddenly get great. You have to get used to the playstyle of these Big DD’s. Don’t go near open water. Stay near islands, advance with your team hopping from cover to cover, fall back hopping from cover to cover and above all, KEEP SHOOTING. Wether you think you might miss, just keep firing and stuff will break down eventually. Currently halfway Fiji and all my rage at WG is completely gone… Like someone said above me; They fill a niche which the game needed filled. Their torps are good, the single fire option makes ‘em way more accurate, its not at all hard to hit a 3/3 on a BB coming right at you with bow first, and they make for devestating ambush opportunities. Smoke is a nice touch for some relaxing invisifiring between periods of dodging and anxious map-watching, sometimes your party gets ruined by hydro/radar though, and you should watch for torps while in smoke, lay angled to the general direction where enemies are. The only issue I got with them is the orbital shell arc’s, they make for hard aiming at long ranges. No problem in facing off with a BB (e.g. Gneisenau or Bismark) in my Fiji though, just remember to change course/speed constanty, and keep sending out shells. IJN= Haven’t played these very much yet, started the Cruiser line a couple of weeks ago when a friend of mine started playing and I wanted something to level up with him. Currently at Furutaka (B-hull), and I got to say, I’m not impressed (especially since most people here appear to go all out for the IJN). They have good torps, are quite manouverable but their main guns aren’t really that good (IMO), they have a good chance of starting fires, but the Russkies are near as high per shell, and can put out way more of them. It’s probably me, but if I wanted to wait 14+ seconds to fire a next salvo I’d be playing BB’s. USN= Great up to Cleveland, after that it gets horribly bad/frustrating. Currently at New Orleans and I’ve just given up on this line. Used NO a bit in ranked, but haven’t used her since I got Chapayev. Slow reload speeds, mediocre HE, no torps and I think the doors of my car have better armor. They have great AA, but so does the KM and barely anybody plays carriers anymore (especially the higher tiers). As you might have guessed, I have a preference for a high rate of fire. Might be the ADD but I just get really bored waiting for my guns to reload… ;)
Syrchalis Players 1,401 posts 3,820 battles Report post #71 Posted November 14, 2016 Fiji 10/10 Fiji is love. I skipped all RN cruisers T1-6 and went straight to Fiji. No regrets. I probably won't even sell it, ever. Just will eventually need a new captain as the high level one will move on. Fiji can perform with a level 3 captain easily. @Topic - low tier RN and high tier RN is simply two different things. Low tier you are squishy and BBs have no superstructure to shoot and your AP is meh, your range is meh. Higher tier your range is still kind of meh, but you can seriously hurt BBs without torps.

I also like Leander, but it's a bit weaker then Fiji tier vs tier. From tier VI they get proper opponents as well as proper tools. Their HP is also a bit better, so now you need at least 2 citadels and then some to take them down. Which means they can survive more and heal more.
