I see your Atlanta and raise you Neptune (a tier 9 Cleveland) Imagine a Cleveland with Bogue MM. That's how you treat tier 9-10 CVs in fully upgraded Neptune. This poor chap never flew planes within 6km of me. I'm unsure if WG have fiddled with her armour model, I suspect they have, Damage is largely dominated War Gaming's made up 'tier plating', it's all the blue stuff when your looking at Cleveland in the armour viewer. You could balanced her for T10. In general. Tier 4-5 = 13mm hull, 10mm superstructure. Tier 6-7 = 16mm hull, 13mm superstructure. tier 8-10 = 25mm hull, 16mm superstructure. This enables rules like tier 8-10 hulls can't be damaged by small calibre HE, tier 6-7 can't be over matched by 8" AP etc. RN CLs have been bumped down one group for smoke/gameplay and Baltimore gets a 27mm hull to bounce 15" shells for gameplay. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Its CL abilities are far worse today and outplayed by many of the newer T6 ships in game. (thats how WG sells new stuff by makeing old stuff weak) Even worse, tier 6 is probably the worst tier for CV drivers (strong AA but little plane reserves) so you won't see many of those either. If you liked the AA gameplay on Cleveland I would suggest to only buy it back if you have a buddy with a tier 6 CV you can team up with. That way there will be at least one CV in enemy team. I probably should just sell it and throw the 11pt captain (v close to 12) into something else. Perhaps it can become my Gearing captain (already have captains for Benson and Fletcher) or maybe I have a 3rd USN BB captain (already have NCal/Montana but maybe I have a dedicated Colorado captain in case of tier 7 ranked).
