I know that tier8 CAs got a lot of crap thrown at them, but they still do have their uses in current meta

Lot of BBs means a lot of slow targets to burn and flood. And on the notion of limiting amount of BBs, that might be a good idea in alternative reality where there is a large enough player base to do such thing. In early mornings, only time I actually have time for this game, there are far too few players to impose any sort of limit on higher tiers. It isn't really uncommon to stumble upon a MM like this:

Look at all those BBs... BBs as far as eyes can see.

BB's arent really an issue overall, Cruiser players tend to take big risks just to hear bang. There are times i see very good cruiser players when i play my BB's, they use cover, advance with support and they are fine using only part of theyr firepower to survive and deal some Dmg than those avrage joes who go broadside on with minimal support just to get few more guns on target.

 

Ammount of DDs in matches make CA/CL viable.

You get oneshotted in any class if you make a silly mistake. i saw many BBs one shotted by other BBs or DDs. Saw many DDs one shotted by CAs or BBs. Saw many CAs one shotted by BBs or CAs. as you can see each class can devastate any other class.

 

I just killed a full hp Iowa at 18km range with 2 salvos. Obviously it was sailing broadside and then slightly angled, which does not prevent the Dankness from happening.

 

I do not understand cruiser players who moan about their survivability at high tiers. I started out with German cruisers and my survivability in the Roon - my highest tier cruiser - was 48%, which is on par with my Bismarck (gotta rebuy that beautiful CA). Cruiser are more fragile, but they can escape most precarious situations using stealth, which BBs can't.

 

The only thing that's missing right now IMO is that T8 cruisers should all have a heal just like Atago.

​Be fair CA geting one shooted when they Show the broadside once and are unlucky is much more likely than any other and despite what others say you canot avoid showing it you can only Keep the window as short as posible.

BBs ? Very unlikely. ( and Yes i have been detonated in a Izumo too by a single Torp from a ranger but you cant really pull that mechanic for one shots)

DD? since no cit also very hart to get more than 50 to 60 percent in one salvo.

 

CA CL dieing to Singles salvos are just much more likely by a VERY big factor.

I didnt mean detonations. BBs oneshoting other BBs. and believe me its not rare.

DDs can get oneshotted by BBs. (Without detonations of course).

I have no problem with BBs in my cruisers. Kutuzov and Chapayev are still very good ships in tier 8 and i really look forward to get my hands on Edinburgh too. I guess the more brawling cruisers like Hipper may have a harder time now.

Oh come on OP. If you don't know how to handle cruisers @T8 or higher, I'd recommend you stop with them completely! In the "beginning" of ny Wow's "carreer" I opted the most skill needed ship is a DD. Now I know it's the cruiser. It's your job to adept to the situation the most! If you play a cruiser correctly the chances are slim you'll be 1 shot often. Granted: not 0%. I'm painfully aware of that fact. But most of the times its a knee strike on the "soft spot" but you'll live to fight another moment! I know I'm taking a huge shortcut here but all the other classes are pretty much the same. DD's: scout cap, annoy. BB's: tank, shoot and destroy. CV's: scout and annoy/ destroy. Cruisers: all of the previously mentioned. Together with assist all of the previously mentioned... I consider the cruier to be the slave of all trades but master of none.

I don't have any problem with NO grind now, concealment spec helps a lot preventing oneshots. Environmental awareness must be at maximum before deciding to engage a zone as a support unit. 

 

I admit though I performed much better with 155 Mogami, maybe because I am playing murican ships a lot more aggressively. The USN AP is so good. 

 

CA can fade away and disengage from risky situations. Just don't pull the trigger "just another time".

 

Anyway I would give heal at every T8 CA.

I dont have problems playing cruisers +T8, and i havent noticed that there would be more BBs than before. Problem is that if there is lots of certain type of boats people start complaining. Few months ago there was tons of DDs because those things were good. Its true that sometimes all you can do with cruiser is to spot, cap or just try to stay alive.

 

And hard cap would just make long que times, if id have to wait 5-10mins to play i would not play that ship type. Also when income balance on carriers skyrockected people stopped playing.

and someone pls enlighten me, what exactly makes the baltimore a t9? the "heal"? this thing is an abomination. it´s the m3 lee of world of warships. he is crap, AND ap is crap - no, you can only deal good damage with ap in theory - because of the abyssmal shell velocity! i mean, why put this at t9? even fully upgraded it outright just sucks!

i´m honest, pls tell me how else than backsniping - and hitting crapbecasue of Shell velocity - i´m supposed to play this? everyone comlpains about the pensacola, i actually liked it and think it´s good, because it hits hard...but this thing? really...i dont think i have the nerves to grind, and nothing else this "gaming" experience" is even fully upgraded, through this. the pensacola is a god at it´s tier compared to this!

If you consider Baltimore a "M3 Lee of ships" then Des Moines you can consider "M3 Grant of ships". Basically the same hull as Balti, same guns but with way better reload (you can call her "close quarters" specialist), better AA... That would be it.
