Whats the deal with Steven Seagal as commander?

Dont get so cranky, it wasnt ment to be offensive. Besides, it wasnt even pointed at you.

Quoting make things a lot easier.

Considering his lack of acting skills that's already a big improvement.

If Seagal have 6 point skills, Chuck Noris would be 9000.

I hope he is more use as a commander than an actor, with his acting skills being so wooden does this mean they are bringing in sailing ships, maybe a Napoleonic era event.

Napoleon era. That would be interesting. Fighting with cannons like a pirate :izmena:

Next: Ben Affleck special fighter squad for US CVs

Why bring up Ben Affleck?  We're talking about actors.

You guys are funny as hell. This is why it's good to be part of this community. I wish WG had half the humor than here in the forum...

On a more serious note: I do not mind a promo like this with the Segal dude, but for me this a story about a good concept / idea that got implemented in the cheap and terrible way.

Why.

On such games like WoWs the "collector" attitude is present in the playerbase - be it ship, module, flag or even commanders.

However just making a SS (well. Steven Segal) commander that is no visible to anyone else other than the player itself is a bit of low key.

Furthermore why the person have to be an quasi ACTION HERO and not somebody truly related to naval warfare?

What if WG took a second and developed the idea further? Such as a "collectible" set of commanders for US, RN, IJN, German, Russia, etc... (like Nelson, Fletcher, Nimitz, etc...) whom can be earned and perhaps by putting them on selected ships it gives some special ability to the ship vs. normal commanders. Say one could increase a bit more the concealment, or speed up the ship or make a special boost to one captain skill... ...or add some extra skill (i.e. with a True Sea Admiral on board you gain a bit more XP from spotting....)

But again: make it integrated part of the game and not just an icon that worth nothing special...

I feel sorry for the lost ideas...

I actually enjoyed Argo. Not the best actor, neither is Seagal.

Admiral Nelson with a 20th century uniform. I'm curious how it will look like. :)

Serious: good idea. I rather collect real naval commanders than bad actors, or anime for that matter. Although I need Akeno Misaki in my fleet when (if) Haifuri comes to EU.

Atmosphere here is a good deal less toxic than on the tank forums.  I even get on here with the very same players I am at odds with there.

In answer to the second question - see the film "Under Siege," which was one of his least worst outings set on one of the Noo Joisey Iowa class BBs.

Henry Fonda would be perfect as a captain. He was a brilliant actor (including the movie Midway from the 1970s, as well as narrator of a documentary about the battle in 1942) but joined the US Navy as well in WW2, where he served aboard USS Satterlee.

Dont mess with Batffleck.

I watched the Superman Vs Batman film (I'm not going into details here but I didn't pay to see it it and will not buy it) and was very underwhelmed.

WG, there's some guy in my pack of flags, demanding the end of fat shaming and pointing his gun in random directions.

Can someone explain why we got him as commander in game? Does he have diferent skill tree? Or maybe we get just his voice as commanding, similar to ARP commander girls?

Because he is the biggest, baddest ship cook ever! Especially when "Under Siege": http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105690/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Under_Siege

Question is: Do we get Erika Eleniak as a captain too? And does she come with a cake?

Could also have James Cagney saying "take that ya dirty rat" every time you sank a ship :playing:

I want Patrick Stewart (as Cpt. Picard) :great:

If we go down that road, I want to have Captain Morgan as, well, Captain Morgan.

Question to anyone who already finished the mission, can you dismiss the captain?

Because I don't exactly need a 6 skillpoints captain with an Erie specialization clogging up my reserve ...

Don't, he supposedly gets some modified skills. Won't put a link to the leak here, but it... it's not that bad, actually. We'll see of the leak is corect. Should happen with the next server patch

Exactly:

https://www.theguardian.com/culture/2016/nov/03/steven-seagal-granted-russian-citizenship-vladimir-putin

And of course, the Russians got it wrong. He was "just the cook", not the commander.

Edit: sorry, Zogash was there before me.
