EsaTuunanen Beta Tester 3,552 posts 8,863 battles Report post #26 Posted October 31, 2016 You can't compliment the complement of your div. Yep, accidents happen and that's the part WG got right from the start. Now if they would only remove possibility to report player who sinked you... Or really throw that -1 back as boomerang. Firstly WG would need to redo Karma. For first i would let them have trial period on normal mode as 1 compliment is +1 karma and 1 report is -1 karma. BUt whit that system i would make it +1 and 2-3 reports -1 karma. Reports should be weighted with reports from new and low/zero karma players having less value. That would go long way for negating those bad players making mistakes getting sinked and then reporting enemy cases. (good player knows to kick his own butt for making mistake) On other end compliment from high karma player could give +2.
gizaman Beta Tester 296 posts 3,981 battles Report post #27 Posted October 31, 2016 Karma system is flawed seriously. First you can easy just make two divisions with your friends. If you have same tier ship all then you would 80-90% be enemies and if you have different tiers the chances of same side is a A LOT better. You can just compliment eachother.....7 compliments minimum each day EASY. When the Clan mode is being official this will happend a lot.
Kikkeliina Players 29 posts 6,112 battles Report post #28 Posted November 1, 2016 Karma shouldn't play part in anything since its totally pointless if you only play Random battles. During Emden missions someone was teamkilling a person who had the ship because he didn't so imagine when you sailing in Premium ship. Yup, looks like a bot... Or you happen to be alive after fire extinguisher sized Admiral Pro died... Play your ship/class like you want to and so on. Guess only way to get Karma is to ask/beg/milk it in Divisions? And of course make a post after- wards in hopes to get freebies from WG, as if you're done something that would make Private Ryan nod and say "You earned this". No, but you can go back to port, drop out of div and then compliment the 2 people that you were in a division with i.e. flawed and option to abuse. Currently there is no gain so people don't bother, but if there is an incentive to abuse it then people will make the effort.
[NAVOC] Niibler Players 723 posts Report post #31 Posted November 2, 2016 So you guys blame others for your lack of karma? If good play results in lots of false reports, how comes there are people with great karma around? I'm sorry, but not understanding how this works and therefore disliking the idea is awfully close to this: Niibler, on 31 October 2016 - 02:34 PM, said: b) a + don't know how they were killed [...] d) don't know game mechanics, <gets killed in smoke> = "cheater"; I don't and didn't blame anyone for the lack of Karma, last time I checked I had more than 100 points, not sure now. My point, which is pretty simple but was clearly distorted to serve your ego was/is, Karma per se is not a fair system because it is abused for good (division) and for bad (salt) therefore shouldn't be a variable in you/me/your dog getting rewards based on it. [BOTS] deadly_if_swallowed Players 1,678 posts 13,867 battles Report post #32 Posted November 2, 2016 The idea itself is not that bad but the Karma system would need to be reworked completely. Currently I am at about 90 Karma points, most of them I earned fair and square, about 8-12 points were favours for teh lulz. Had a couple of downvotes by some salty Tier X and a French Atago player who learned that Atago can be citadelled by a Roon when showing too much broadside. But in general I was pretty lucky with this and as long as you stay calm and polite in chat, there is little need for reports. When I completely screwed up a game and accidentally tked a fellow DD I asked to get reported for that but got compliments instead. Then again, we all know those "report X for doing this or that"-rants, and I don't want to imagine how many reports are actually given just because you don't have other use for them. So negrep should be somewhat restricted or perhaps have some downsides for the reporting player (not Kirov) as well, so you have to think twice if the report is really necessary. Compliments are nice to give and to receive, no arguing here
