Dear WG please consider adding "Repair Party" (heal) to Tier VII "Premium" cruiser "Atlanta"!

Hi all,

With RN light cruisers everywhere it is pretty obvious that good old Tier VII "Premium" cruiser "Atlanta" is now (once again) seriously lacking and (as always) lagging behind everything... :(

The RN Light Cruisers are as flimsy as "Atlanta" but they do have good range torpedoes, smoke and "Repair Party" (heal) - everything that "Atlanta" lacks!

The only similarity (apart for flimsiness) is Radar...

So... please think about this!

+1

Personally, i'd prefer smoke over heal, but sonce this is unlikely due to "Flint", i'm supporting this suggestion.

Repair would be utterly pointless on the Lolanta. She takes so much damage that it won't be worth repairing the few % you gain back.

Rather have better range on the torps!!!

Take away radar and give them the HP recovery of the Fiji... no problem with that :)

Am I the only one who thinks Atlanta is doing just fine? The only thing I'd like to see is a preferred MM to get uptiered by only 1 tier (or does she already have it?). Other buffs are always welcome but I don't see an immediate need for that. She has hydro and radar, that's all I need. I don't mount DF as her AA is already monstrous and she is being avoided by CV players. Just hug your waifu and rain fire on anything that moves within 13 km.

I don't think she needs heal.  As Negativvv already stated, most of the damage she takes cannot be repaired anyway (since it's usually citadel or outright fatal) so a heal ability would be mostly useless.

I can see why people don't like her - unicums cannot carry in her despite being able to play her well, whilst unskilled or less experienced players die fast in her.  But that's just because she is a ship of extremes and needs to be played in exactly the right way to get the best out of her, whilst mistakes are severely punished.

In the right hands and circumstances, such as ambushing an enemy DD in the open, she's very OP - pop radar so he cannot hide in his smoke and vaporise him in 2-3 salvoes.  But get caught in the open and you will be sent back to port in no time.

And I am fine with that - it gives her a unique play style and makes her interesting and challenging to play.

I say she is fine as she is.

Edit - in short, heal would make her too powerful in the hands of good players but do nothing to help the average player.

Heal for Atlanta could be implemented, but as some people said I think that wouldn't do much for the Atlanta since I agree too that most of the damage Atlanta takes it's citadel damage, so you don't have that mach health to repair provided you survive.

Maybe high tier RN cruiser heal could be nice if they considered to give Atlanta the heal, but I don't think they'll give her that heal. Same goes for the smoke, I don't think we'll ever see Atlanta with smoke for two reasons. It would be a Flint with two more guns per broadside, we'll have to prepare for all the "over OP" threads. On the other hand if Atlanta had smoke where would be the point in playing ranked until rank 1 three times? Belfast kinda makes it pointless already, but Flint will have better stats anyways because of the players that get Flint.

What I'd like to see and think that will work it's giving Atlanta the tier 8 module slot, like Belfast. No heal (because it would be mostly pointless anyways), no smoke (because just think of all those BBabies tears) but I think the tier 8 modules would help Atlanta and give a little variety of gameplay to choose. You either put on Atlanta the rudder module to dodge better incoming fire or the concealment one which would be really nice on Atlanta too to get close to be able to hit small target reliably and enter radar range before being deleted and be more useful as a radar scouter for the team (a consumable that she already has).

No you're not.

Atlanta is fine, but she was powercreeped by Belfast, and now we have to buff every premium until they become considerably p2w just because WG can't balance if their loves depends on it.

atlanta does not need buffs, its a situational ship, the radar was a very nice touch, just div with a cv and a dd and you'll see how good it is

HI all,

How about give everyone who bought Atlanta the option to sell her for doubloons? :hiding:

No... I would never sell my "Atlanta"... she is great for re-training captains... but she is very situational in "Random" battles (much much more than RN Light Cruisers) and that's why I suggested "Repair Party" (heal) in order to help her at least a bit...

Hi all,

Can't you stop crying about the Atlanta already?

Nobody is "Crying" about "Atlanta"!

But with new RN Light Cruisers and especially "Premium" RN Tier VII "Belfast" and regular Tier VII "Fiji" the "Atlanta" is (once again) clearly and markedly lacking...

While we are at buffing T7 cruisers, I would take a radar for my Myoko.

While we are at buffing cruisers, t5 Murmansk could use better bow armor. It is getting bow-citadeled by other cruisers.

Atlanta could sure use some help, especially now that Belfast is a thing. But repair a) wouldnt help her too much against getting oneshot as she often does and b) feels pretty strange on this fragile a ship (and no, I dont like the feel of it on RN CL either). There just isnt really much currently within the game mechanics that could help Atlanta... Smoke is a definite no because Flint, better arcs are also a no because the guns are used elsewhere and they're fine there... and what else could you do? She already got unlimited DefAA... I'm inclined to accept the fact that Atlanta will just always be a kinda underpowered/situational gimmicky fun ship...

The "Repair Party" (heal) is at least something that can be used sometimes... when you have nothing you can't use it at all... :B

And yes...I am playing RN Light Cruisers and I was deleted many times (even through the bow when perfectly angled against enemy BBs)... but many many times I get a little damage here and there and I CAN repair that with "Repair Party" (heal)... I think I even earned several "Dreadnought" awards in my RN Light Cruisers... in "Atlanta" once you get damaged (and even if that damage is "repairable") you can't do anything except going defensive and be much much less aggressive and helpful for the team...

Even a little bit of something positive - in our case "Repair Party" (heal) - can be useful for underdog (i.e "Atlanta")! :)
