while I know the Russians will be added first and know the reasons for it. This does all show how insignificant the Russian navy was compared to the RN and even the Italian navy.

Well Italy had a much smaller tonnage cap compared to the RN(considering the Washington Treaty). Still i haven't said RN isn't significant, i just said Royal Sovereign was a place holder for something else.

That's true and for that reason she may show up as premium. It would be ironic to have the first UK ship implemented ingame under the Russian flag but then again the implementation order follows other logics than historical importance.

Well in tanks we can safely say Russia is overall more relevant than UK but then again it's a different game ^^

I'd love to see the Brits in this game early doors, proud seafaring nation, famous navy etc, however, as was the case in WoT & WoWP, they will focus on the bigger market nations.

 

Disappointing but not a surprise, however, the you tube video I watched looked great and am really looking forward to this game, hopefully get in closed beta or open beta.

It would be nice if they made a compromise and added the RN and other Europeain nations first for the EU server. However I don't think that WG caire enough for the EU server to do that.

And who would have work on those tree? The dev team is one and even if they were more than one wouldn't make sense to implement different nations in the different regions instead of implementing all at the same time for every region. Besides the all balancing process takes time and if you have to test a lot of ships at the same time people start becoming crazy.

I do not really care about what nation gets added first, second, third.. ect.. 

All nations in my view have their own ships with their own ups and downs, and as we all know: Russia beats all, so i know what nation's line i'll go down first.

Russia beats all indeed thats why they are coming faster with their naval superiority .

The soviets had the same amount or more of every class of ship except battleships as the germans in WW2, with massive amount of modern ships being built before it's oubreak. If the nazis hadn't siezed their shipyards, they would've had a navy bigger than italy's by 1943. They also had a large amount of advanced projects that could easily fill a tech tree top to bottom. I personally have no problem with soviet ships coming next since WG has to cater to their main playerbase and I'm extremely interested with playing some of their designs since I'm quite tired with the generic nations.

 

Also the british tech won't be as easy to fill since they don't have any suitable tier X battleship or destroyer. The last british dreadnought plan had only 9 16' gu8ns while the last destroyer was the 5 gun battle class, both are hardly top tier materiel. Same goes for their cruisers. The most powerful british cruiser never had more than 8 8 inch guns.

 

The soviets however can easily fill tier 10 with the project 24 superbattleship with 457mm guns, project 69AV carrier, Skoriy class destroyer, and project 66 cruiser with 220mm guns.

 

Well,problem with soviet plans for building battleships was that at that time soviet industry was not capable of producing armour plates thicker then 230mm along other problems with armament,powerplants and electronics too.So as much as I`m happy to see soviet ships,Op point is quite right.

Direct consequences of "Big Navy", and, most importainly, of Sovetskiy Soyuz class are still easily seen if you'll work with post-Soviet industrial geography.

You have to narrow that down, which particular WoWP fiasco?

 IMHO it doesnt matter because the game mix all the players by their ship tier and kind not by nationality. I do want to play Italian ships but i do recon that releasing Russia before other nationalities will be good for the player base = €€€€ for WG, which will eventually allow them to develop the other nationalities.

I lose interest when the initial release is going to be full of fantasy ships, and not just that but OP fantasy ships.

My opinion of the "Russians" coming out before the "British" is that the Russians do actually have some good ships though we may not know much about them, not to mention the fact that Wargaming.net is a Russian company, they would most likely want to support the country they are in before they worry about the other nations. To add, the British ships are well known amongst the Western half of the world but not much amongst the Eastern half, this would mean that naturally the British tech-tree would involve a lot more work than the Russian tech-tree.

 

The British ships are what I and a lot of people are currently waiting for, this means there is quite a lot of hype built up around it. From Wargaming.net's point of view I would assume they would want the hype over the British ships to continue for a long time as it would keep people coming back to the game waiting for the new tech-tree to arrive.

 

I speculate that there is a possible reason behind the release of Russia before Britain and would suggest Britain would take a lot longer than you might expect.

In fact I might even go as far as saying the Germans (if added) would come out before the British for reasons I do not want to get into.
