Too many battleships in ranked.

Having [3x battleships 1x cruiser and 2x destroyer / 4x battleship 1x cruiser and 1x destroyer] is horrible in ranked match when playing with cruiser. Fix it so battleships don't determine the outcome of the match,

I do not think the battleships usually determine the outcome of a match. It rather seems that the side that manage to kill the other sides DDs first wins. At least in the battles I have been in.

So, for the "average" player, the cruiser line will slowly wither away and die as it's just too hard for "Mr Average" and he won't have fun, so he and everyone like him will swap to BB's until there is nothing but BB's left and the game dies (just like WoWP is doing) because 12v12 BB's is boring as crap for Mr Average when there's no Cruisers to One shot.

It is possible to survive quite a bit and make a lot of damage with cruisers, except the british one even if you are an average player. You simply stay behind the BBs, HE spam the enemy battleships and go in to make damage with torpedoes at the end of the battle when the survivers are more scattered. However, this will make your teammates go into a rage so you may lose because halt your team "afk" after having thrown their screen into the wall of rage because of your passive play That is the main reason I hate the british cruiser line. They removed the only tactic average or less players can use for large parts of the game in most circumstances.

I agree that it's very possible for Mr Average to survive in a Cruiser right now, it's just not much fun for him, and for a "game" that's a massive problem. If it's not fun then they'll stop playing (or swap to BB's etc).

On the other hand, playing BB and DD have become more fun with fewer Cruisers! It actually feels good to play a BB without being constantly HE spammed by three cruisers as soon as you moved toward the enemy. It is also more fun to pay DDs without those pesky cruisers lurking around everywhere.

True point! It might just become World of Battleships and Destroyers as both benefit from the lack of Cruisers and CV's most!

Fun anecdote, I started a random battle in which there were 4 DDs per side (rather than 2-3) and the usual 5 BBs per side.

 

One of the BB heroes complained that it was World of Destroyer, completely oblivious to the irony of the situation.

It depends on type of cruiser and how they play. if you meet cruisers stupid enough to do what their teammates want, such as hunting DDs, protect BBs and so on, cruisers are nice. If you however meet cruiser that consistently stay at maximum range and spam you with HE, it is not very fun. If the cruiser keep enough distance, they can be very difficult to get a decent hit on.

Take the Chapayev and use it as a radar ship first, gunnery platform second. Get behind a rock near cap and spam radar and hydro, works well.

 

Kutusov also work well, Atagos too. New Orleans is not great

Actually BB can do everything better than CA, so driving CA is pointless. Until BBs are nerfed, but I doubt that this will happen.

Actually, BBs do not need a nerf (except bismarck, i think, with its sonar and secondaries it is downright immune to any DDs)

 

Re-introducing the CVs back into the game is the top priority. A CV in a ranked match is hell for a DD and for a BB too, thus allowing more space for cruiser play.

Not really, if they make more people play CV again, I guess I rather play something else. The game wouuld be better without really.

You can fix that yourself easily. Two known methods: a) play cruiser or b) don't play ranked. Personally I went for b) rather quickly, but that's more down to ranked rage ranks above random rage for me.
