can anyone give me a summery about what we know about upcoming premiums ?

 

- what will be the next premium ?

- will there be another premium CV

- any new premiums before Christmas ? (that would be lucrative for WGN...)

- comfirmed or speculated premiums for 2017 ?

The only ones I know for EU are;

 

- HMAS Perth (Tier 6 Commonwealth Cruiser)

- Shinonome (Tier 6 IJN DD)

- Konig Albert (Tier 3 German BB)

 

Those are the only ones in the game files, I imagine we may get another one before the year is out.

The König Albert will be due sometime before the end of the year, from what I read somewhere on the forum a while ago. And there is almost always some juicy offers around Christmas.

 

What's the deal with the Commonwealth in WoWs, by the way? Is there supposed to be a line of Commonwealth ships, kept separate from the ordinary British tech tree? If so, why on Earth would they do that?

I think it's the same as with the Pan-Asian ships. Clever way to sell variations of existing ships that are of no use as captain trainers.

Commonwealth probably cause of Australia and New Zealand. They have a fair amount of cruisers and destroyers to implement even though their origin is British.

1 Yes,

2 don't know. It will be like the Polish and Pan-Asian (AKA 2 Chinas: PRC and RoC) tech trees with only a couple of premiums.

it would be nice to get an RN ship that matches the format ingame, because then it could be used as a trainer, and not mismatched skills ships. My free 12 pointer had to be retrained as his HE skills were no longer relevant...

 

Wonder if the Perth will be in the same meta as the RNCL's.

Considering we have Poland already I doubt it.

I think they mostly chose the Pan-Asian name because putting a flag to represent all of China in this game is going to cause  a whole ****storm in mainland China with the Communist party.

 

This was the Republic of China flag that would be appropriate for WW2 China and it's navy.

 

However the Communist Party of China (of the Peoples Republic of China) is going to have issues with this being presented as the Chinese flag and would get them in trouble with doing business in mainland China.

 

The PLAN (Peoples Liberation Army Navy) was founded in the 1950's.

On the other hand Taiwanese people are probably not going to be too happy about getting the PRC flag as the Chinese flag.

 

So instead they went with a modified version of this flag which was used during the Imperial Qing dynasty.

 

And instead of calling it the Chinese navy they just went with Pan-Asian and avoided this.

I'll be honest the Perth being a different nationality to the RN ships means I'm less likely to buy it.  If I can't train my RN commanders in it, or use my 15 point RN commanders in it, why would I want it?

 

It's hilarious if you think about it.  They can combine Communist China with Taiwan but can't combine the various Royal Navies of the Empire and Commonwealth.

I'm not about to dive into the morass of cultural hurtblame that is the WoWs Flag Debate - but that Imperial Qing Dynasty flag is a fantastically good-looking design! I'll take a nice, anachronistic flag to a politically sensitive present-day symbol any day!
