British Cruiser pain

I see so few of them in battles. Not as much as I would have expected from a new line of ships. Maybe people are boycotting them.

I noticed this as well, I did not expect them to be as popular as german BBs due to BBs but I see 1 - 2 of them per game (T5 - T7).

Most games now, I only see 1 or 2 British ships, just like I used to see in Wot, working as intended for WoWS then. Later, they'll say so few people play then, there's no point wasting resources fixing them, just like in WoT.

Yep, seven games in a row and I've been the only Brit.

Well. I might have been too harsh on the RN "cruiser" line... Just went down in my Bogatyr. I was angled t 89' and to my astonishment 5 red RN ships were doing damage to me!!! It only took an astonishnisgly shot time of 7 minutes to bring me down with combined fire Mayde the line isn't so weak after all...

I find them hard to play, but they can be fun. Against cruisers and dd, that is, unless you survive a torpedo raid against blind and no turning BB enemy players. BB is rather challenging to fight against.

Of course, against higher or same tier BB your game is ruined if he knows what he is doing. And as most games have same or higher number of BB than cruisers, you are against the odds in most games. Many games now I had  more BB and DD than cruisers on teams, bad luck maybe.

Only had 10 games in Leander, but love it allready. Just look around and find the right targets and use the great single torpedoes for massive dmg. Had an epic match with 153k dmg, kraken and 4 other badges :) Really looking forward to Fujii

I think people have started understanding how to completely deny RN CLs of damage.

In my last match as a Leander, I chased 3 DDs, (2 Fubukis and a Blyska).

All 3 just remained perfectly parallel to me, using their rear turrets only. 75% of my hits were bounces, the rest were overpens on the superstructure. Even hitting a DD's aft plating lead to bouncing.

I was never as miserable playing this game as I was playing a game of "shoot the chimney with AP" on a moving DD 7km using 6inch guns with bad arc and bad accuracy.

I'm at Leander, and I really like it. It's not a good ship but I do like it regardless.

To be honest I can live with the AP only ammunition, but I can't live with the terribad shell velocity, and the fragility. I would rather see these shops made a bit tougher, and given them better shell-arcs in return for losing the smoke. I don't like smoke gimmick and the skulking/hiding meta that it promotes.

So why did you chased them?

Disengage and fing bs or cruiser who showesside and give them 2-3 k salvos from smoke every 7.5 sec?

Yes, when a CL meets a DD at 5-6km and he's giving chase, he should totally disengage because the DD is running away.

Absolutely no way two top tier Fubukis in a division could be harmful to my team...

Tell me again what CLs are supposed to counter?

The number of BB vs cruisers ruin all chance of decent gaming with these cruisers. At tier 4 atm, and the number of kongos and new yorks makes grinding a pain in the ***. The BB outnumber cruisers most games, and to top it of they mostly are a tier higher as well... Oh well.

At high tiers the ships are quite nice.My advice :instal training room ,get used to be shot at and use the "drifting" power of the ships.U will see a pattern u can take really steep turns to avoid the shells. Also pick youre targets:when u see a broadside punish that.U have to play like a dd with cruiser size.Im not adjusted fully but im getting better with the things i wrote above.

I've had some "good" games in them recently. I use the word "good" advisedly, as in I've survived and the team has won. Racking up damage is not easy, its a pain. I want to play them, I really do, but I'm not having fun. So I'm back to the Kamikaze and Gremy for light relief.  They may be much better Leander onwards, as some have remarked, but grinding all that XP to get to Fiji?  and above?  No thanks, too fragile.

I'm tired of targets just turning to negate damage. So I can't damage the closest target because AP only, sigh.

I think this line just accelerated the point where I have become bored/demoralised with this game. If I had free time during the day, I'd fire up the games computer and have a few games of WoWs. Today I did ironing instead! I found the Halloween missions entertaining for a while, but most of the player don't or cannot understand how to play it.

So it is bye bye from me Wargaming. Uninstalling today, better uses for my SSD. Perhaps later.

Chugging along in my  Mikasa,  that well  known  DD  hunter..waiting for it to get up 'on  the plane',  I took  2  2-gun pot shops  at a Caledon at 8km,  a  hit both times, both citadels...it blew up...says it all..must  be very demoralising to play

I feel much the same, I get some decent games with the British cruisers, but playing these ships has now made me ultra-careful with my other ships. A bad habit.

When I played other cruisers, I used to think: where do I need to put this ship to help win the match?
When I play a British cruiser, I think: where do I need to put this ship in order to survive long enough to do a bit of damage?

So I just loaded up a training room in the Danae. I put in some stationary unarmed BB bots to see how long it would take to kill them and I'm not sure that you can. Against a stock Kaiser I got it to around 3-4k before it just stopped taking damage altogether. This was after about 200 hits, broadside on from 4km range.

Is this ship literally in the game just to sell free XP?

Well im not gonna lie they start to really grow on me.They are fun and more challenging and if you can master these pretty well ,life will be really easy on the other lines.

The lower tier unfortunatelly suffer from mm

I feel like these ships would be way way more fun if they released before the German BBs which were strong in the meta they released in. Getting to the end of a match in a RN cruiser is a boring afair, you have dealt with the targets you are allowed to play with and now must hope your BBs are better than the enemy BBs and I think this is the single biggest issue I have with them. Being utterly hopeless in some situations is not a fun game mechanic regardless of how strong you are in others.

I free XP'd to Leander as I had a lot saved over, as the T1 to T5 ships looked terrible, it seems I was right in thinking that. Leander clearly establishes the play style for the rest of the branch, as the next ships in the line seem to be continually improved versions of this ship. It's fun and almost scary to do so much damage in a short space of time to broadside targets. The second that target turns away or towards you, you are unable to do any damage. It doesn't matter what ship type.

Yes these ships accelerate/turn quickly and have a lot of consumables at their disposal, and yes they have high rates of fire, but the second you meet an angled target (Which is 100% of the time if you're chasing a target or are being chased) you're done for and must switch targets, or stop firing all together if it's completely ineffective. It's the easiest hard counter in the game currently.

I've had a handful of decent games with Leander but I fear that as more people learn that the RN tree can only shoot AP they will become even more uncompetitive and less enjoyable to captain. They need to have weak HE shells which either have a minimal HE chance (roughly 1%) or cannot start fires at all.

Paper armour, pea shooter guns, rediculously feeble ammunition.

Free xp to anything that isn't another British ship.

Frustrating and not worth spending money on ( except Belfast obviously )

Very disappointing.
