Thanks to the premium camouflages i got at christmas, i leveled through the british cruisers quite quickly and reached t8 yesterday, half way through to t9 already.

T2-t5 are extremly bad. I basically skipped them all. T6 is a sunshine after t5, the Leander is way better than the Emerald, and basically the first "real" RN cruiser as the following ships are basically the same cruiser but better.

The Fiji is a beast. 50% more firepower, good MM (no t10, very often high tier). I got my first Solo Warrior with her, and it's quite easy to deal 10k damage salvos to ships at full HP (even battleships). Extremly lethal against DDs with their low health pools. Yes, there are some matches were i was deleted at the start of the match by 2 lucky salvos into the smoke, but i also had as many matches with 150k damage done without even using (or hitting) torpedos much.

The Edinburgh at t8 is a step back from the Fiji. Yes, it is basically better, but instead of beeing high tier often, you are now low tier most of the time. And because you are t8, you'll have a german BB with hydro in the enemy team basically every match, beeing able to dodge your torps even at 4km distance and to see you in your smoke from 7km away.

Still, the most fun cruiser line i've ever played in WoWs. Can't wait to try the Neptune and Minotaur. :look:

Eugh, trying to play inteligently using my concealment and also agressively enough that the game is fun and i'm not overly cautious. That's cool and all, I like the change of gameplay, but it should be rewarding, now end up in what happens below....

I would really like to know how you play your games. Don't take that as an insult, but your average damage is extremly low. I'm dealing more than 3 times of your damage on average. And still, your winrate is extremly high, and the sample size isn't too low either. What magic trick is dis? :teethhappy:

Your hit rate is quite low, too. Maybe you should try to look up some tutorials about aiming, and maybe you fight from too far away sometimes. Use your smoke in positions where you can make use of it and fire at ships 6-10km away.

However, you are doing something right, making decisions that lead your team to victory. You may experience some incredible matches when you can improve your hit rate and damage done.

I'd also recommend people using the survivability expert captain skill (depending on the changes though), because there is obviously no point in DE as 4th skill because you have no HE and I found their AA is more than good enough and the number of carriers about is low.

I tried that, but honestly, i prefer to have better AA and secondary range (my secondaries are doing a little bit of damage in almost every match, it was even at 9k in one match and 20k fire damage in an other one). There are not many CV players around, but the few carriers left can be a serious threat. I was sunk by carriers quite often with some nice cross drops and the 3k more HP didn't help much in that situation. In addition, SE is quite situational because it only makes a difference if you have less than 3.2k HP (at t8) with SE. Otherwise, the skill does nothing (yeah okay, it increases your heal by about 8%, but is that worth 4 skill points?). On the other hand, AFT is usefull in almost every match. Not because of carriers, but because of ships trying to push into your smoke and because of playes launched from ships, spotting you from high above.
