Also there is quite an obvious reason why it probably isn't racist. All the voice acting is in Japanese after all.

 

Salts aside, That is genuinely looks a good game design for this genre. Player control the battle, no heavy RNG hell abyss. No tacky design like WGS or somethingsomething-Belle too.

But seriously, the only game with the KanColle brand on it I would consider playing is the Arcade game - you actually steer your shipgirls and you see little skits with the characters when you are on your way to check on newly constructed girls.

 

Can you play this on European/UK iPads? I don't have a smart phone, especially not a Chinese one.

I might give this a look if you can, even though I swore after getting sick of Pokemon Shuffle that the only Mobage I would ever play in future would be FGO or GBF. At the very least those two have some quality to them.

I'm never really all that into Atago in general (except for WoWS, for obvious reasons), but that design is particularly weird to me.

The way the ears are drawn reminds me of Oyari Ashito, but it's obviously not his art.

EDIT: Actually, the more I look at it, the more I think it could be Oyari Ashito's art.

 

 

I tend to find, although the shipgirls of Warship Girls, Victory Belles and Pacific can hold my attention for a while, I always end up going back to KanColle's designs because of the simple-but-likeable designs of shibafu and the well-sculpted designs of Shizuma Yoshinori, not to mention Kujou Ichiso's Shiratsuyu-class. And, of course, Ryuujou.

I think you can play it, but of course it is all Chinese (although there is a korean server as well which might have english support but not sure). There are some good guides online on how you register because that is kind of a pain. I personally play it on a emulator.

I kind of wish the PS vita KC kai game was brought to the west. Unfortunately chances were pretty low since nobody owns a PS vita outside Japan.
I really wish that they'd port it to PC. I'd pay way too much for such a thing.

That's a plus. Touhou more often has pretty bullet patterns than randomly spewed bullets that just makes a mess. Now, it all depends on if the hitbox is as large as the characters, or something more actually like Touhou (which is a few pixels wide).

Id be the player that focuses on HP and Def upgrades, because I suck at reaction time games. (Actually okay at paterns, but only if they dont change around too much. A sustained pattern I can hold for 10s of minutes ^^)

Well, there is also an autoplay option, but the AI kinda sucks, so it's really only useful on maps you have long surpassed in level.

 

Torps are only really dangerous when they're employed en masse (as they are in the event). A few of them are easily avoided.

Only seen a couple of bosses have fixed pattern attacks so far, though I guess the amount will rise in the future. In my experience the ones that are harder to avoid tend to deal less damage, while the easier ones hit like bricks.

Anyway, I thoroughly recommend giving the game a try. It's certainly more fun than watching a pure RNGfest. :)

Yeah, that Takao just looks lazy compared with Atago, at least KanColle Atago/Takao were pretty visually unique outside of their uniform.

...And I can see clearly that whoever drew Takao is not Oyari Ashito - the hips, the face, very obviously not his work.

 

Tirpitz does look quite cool, has to be said.

I assume they went the WSG/VB route and let you pick one starter nation according to which DD you picked.

 

I have a PSV and I was considering buying KanColle Kai until I realised it was basically going to be the same as the original game, then I was like "stay back, crazy cat".

My personal favourite fan-interpretation is what I have affectionately dubbed "Pudgy Patchy" - a variant which is on the healthy side of overweight, with all the perks that has. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

My starter was Z-23 as well. German ships have AP guns that pierce through enemies allowing you to hit those behind them. This combined with good durability and skills make Eugen pretty useful as well.

I have Belfast 6 stars and still got 2 Belfast from construction.... I have too many Belfasts...

I think Belfast, Hood, Illustrious, and Big E (and maybe Eugen) are the only SRs you can get from normal construction outside events

Sorry I ended up sucking so bad.

Honestly, I found playing in division to be really stressful - like I was suddenly required to do good.

Maybe we would do better next time if we had proper teamspeak?

Unfortunately the only headset I have is one designed for PS4, so I'm not certain I could get it to work for my potato PC.

At least, I walked away with my Nepnep going from 80k to Minotaur to 70k! That's something, right? Right?

Come to think of it, I think the one time I didn't feel stressed while divisioned (apart from playing Nelson for lols) was playing all three DDs.

1) As much as I like Kitsune in general, I think I still prefer the KanColle Samurai Archer designs.

2) I like both Bismarck designs, but I'm not certain about the teeth added to her ship parts for AL. Prinz Chiyo is better than AL Pudding, IMHO.

3) KanColle Hosho is best Hosho.

That's 3-0 to KanColle.
