Well true, but you do not level DD in event maps. And waiting to encounter the boos and go in to night battle in standard maps is the most ineffecient way to level DD's.

The most effecient, both time wise and resource wise, is to level DD/CL in 1-5 or 4-3 (I believe it is 4-3). Also with all events these days have crazy airpower requirements for medium or hard mode as well as crazy strong enemies, you really do need strong CV and BB to carry you through the day battles to the boss. So BB and CV that can get Kai Ni are extremely valuable.

 

The thing is, both trained main force and escort forces are needed, it is just that the main force tends to get leveled on their own.

 

Also, why is it a mystery that people lvl ships like Zuikaku to you? She is probably the most usefull CV tied alongside Shoukaku, maybe along side the new Saratoga Kai Ni. If I recall, only Kaga is above the Kaku's in popularity polls.

Also both Shouka and Zuika are much better than any "efficient CVL". CVl are only there for lower consumption and when you can't uses CV. But the Kaku sisters share very good balanced slots when Kai and Kai Ni, and the CVB version just have both very good firepower (if needed), high armor, high HP and the ability to still launch planes when at orange health.

 

Though now the best CVB is Saratoga, Taihou and Shoukaku are still great CVs. 

 

Seriously, without Yamato and Nagato firepower, I don't think I would ever have cleared E-4 last event. It was hard enough like that, so I would have never even tried with FBB instead.

You really think Yamato 178+ firepower when not even Kai isn't useful on sorties ? Really ? On boss with 730 HP and very high armor ?

As for ships an levelling, i just had a look at my ship list. I only started playing back in early march so with on and off play you could still say i'm decently new to the game. While I must admit some of them were levelled due to interest, most were simply my favourite ship in class, I've come out with quite the interesting levelling pattern, I have a few DDs with much higher levels compared to other classes, My CVs are generally much higher that most other ships(ignore shoukaku, only got her yesterday),  I had only ever really used Jun'you in the CVL department up till now but I'm going about levelling chiyoda, chitose and a few others atm. My CLs are generally very unlevelled, with the exception of expedition ones and Abukuma. Finally: I've done very little to level my CAs, as in general, I didn't ever have a good use for them, the only ones I'm levelling atm Get remodelled into CAVs ( and i just so happen to love all the mogami  class gals anyways :P. While I don't claim to be the blueprint for every new player, perhaps this is a fair indication of how most will level? Gravitating towards their favourite ships in the more useful classes?

There are ships in your list you absolutely need to level due to their usefulness.

 

Like Isuzu, Sendai and Maya. You should level Mikuma for the 203 n°3 and the remodelling into CAV too. And some more standard CA, mostly Myoukou and at least one of her sister.

 

I mean, sure, you should level the one you like. I Kai Ni'ed Kiso first of all because she's my waifu, but there are so many shipgirl you HAVE to level in order to simply be able to clear some maps, to do the event properly, and so on.

I hate Abukuma voice, but I'm still leveling her because I need to.

Yeah i've been told of the myoukou sisters, I'm working on levelling them, the mogami sisters and some CVLs atm, I have Isuzu in an expedition group atm, as i really dont like her design enough to dedicate levelling her, also (I cant possibly be the only one who finds abukuma adorable? Really? I am? ok then...)

Abukuma design is nice in itself, but I just don't like her voice.

 

Isuzu is just an ASW monster when Kai Ni. She's very useful for 1-5; and mandatory to any event map with SS bosses. Her OASW is just that powerful.

 

And you need Maya Kai Ni asap. Yeah it's level 75, yeah it's long, but her AACI specialization will save your life so many time.

Same for Sendai and her three night equipment, added with her incredible firepower in night battle.

Shoukaku is just a little bit too goody-goody, much like a couple other shipgirls that don't interest me (Haruna...).

Maybe trash is too strong, although I wouldn't resort in using more moderate words because I'm just pissed off, not as much by Zuikaku herself but by the people who like her. We all have our tastes - that's something I'm kinda forced to admit considering mines are sorta that of an outsider.

Zuikaku's arrogant and cocky. She shows no care for everyyone but her sister. She takes her successes for something that should be seen as totally normal and hardly praises anyone but herself. She's quick to criticize or take  action against anything she doesn't like. Hearing her, had shee been at Midway, it'd have been a win for sure. Hell, at valentines, she's litteraly warning that she expects not only a return gift but a good one ! It's an accumulation of minor stuff but hell it's pissing off after a while. And the numerous Zuikaku lovers defend such a behavior with all their might as if acting like that was perfectly normal.

There are so many nice girls in the fleet who get totally ignored either because of their look or simply because they're more quiet and don't brag everytime they can. Zuikaku has far more love than she deserves especially considering her overall behaviour. Hence I'll keep calling her trash, because even if this is probably too strong, she too deserves some hate.

But I get ya, many quiet characters who are actually good, are being overlooked, I mean, I like Jintsuu, shes not a kind of show off, instead she rather puts herself down (like when attacking "please hit") its like she isnt confident in herself, Im not confident in myself either! but yea so many better characters get overlooked......
