Not only Taigei is the worst CVL ingame, but she need Blueprints for the conversion, which is even worse. Better save your blueprint for actually useful girls like Abukuma.

Yeah abukuma was my first blueprint ship, she is my highest level too atm, sitting at 83

Im going to try the most stupidest Fleet formation for 1-4 :P Is 2 Heavy Cruisers, 1 Light cruiser, 2 Light Carriers and 1 Seaplane carrier good? Chiyoda is 4 lvls away from being a carrier anyway... lets see how this plays out :P

Basicly as soon as you get carrier all world 1's maps should be a relative breeze.

If you have a BB as well you are golden.

 

The question probably depends on what planes you got and the fighter power/bombing power you have, but it should not be much of a problem what you bring, as world 1 does not really have branching rules.

If you do that, balance the planes so you have a good amount of strike power, since otherwise there's no point in having more than one carrier. Seaplane tenders aren't really good, unless the routing requires them, or forbids real carriers. Other ships are better in general.

Well, Mizuho with enough leveling is a good 2-in-1. Opening torp + 2x12 planes works well.

And let's not forget Teste with 4 slots, very good firepower, and works very well with 2 guns and 2 planes. (can't do the opening torp tho)

 

But they are "rare".

 

Btw, for our beginner, when you have some ressources to spare, get your Akagi or any CV as flagship, and uses the basic development recipe for planes. It can gives you a bunch of different things, all with low probabiloty, but there are so many interesting plane you will easily get one or two Ryuusei ou Suisei. It's easy to uses, doesn't cost much, and since you don't search for any planes in particular, anything will interest you.

And try to craft a Saiun ASAP. Those things are so f***** useful.

With enough levelling, any ship works for 1-4. But you're right that the opening torpedo salvo is can be extremely useful. It's why I think Abukuma breaks the balance for light cruisers. It's just so much more powerful than just having good regular attacks.

 

As for Saiun, I don't think they're actually that useful. Most of the time, I think it's more useful to just have another plane for more attack power. There's a thin line between being able to finish a battle with head-on engagement but not T-disadvantage, and not being able to finish it with either (needing parallel or T-advantage). Although for exercises, I find it very useful, since those very often do thread that line.

Uhhhh.......

I'll try to do my best as a not shitty admiral.... but the 2 carrier thing did work out, until Shouhou san recieved heavy damage.... But the amount of planes in the sky tho..... 2 fighters,2 torps, 2 DBS and 1 catapult fighter bomber. Seems good enough... but if ever going into night battle... well the carriers are useless anyway, Chiyoda only has a 127mm gun I believe do then the cruiser's have to do it then. .. But my Jintsuu is at Kai, Chiyoda is at Kai. Only 1 more level for Chiyoda Kai Ni A and 4 more for carrier.

At the start of the war, I participated in the Southern Operation in the 4th Torpedo Squadron under Naka-san, as well as Midway, Mariana, and Leyte.

I was literally reading the manga of KanColle and the chapter I was reading was all bout Nowaki coming into the base...... the 4th squad was also mentioned.

Besides IJN DDs aren't that numerous per class. None exceeds 20 right ? (unless you count super-class Fubuki as a whole in which case they're 24)

oh gosh about 140 Fletcher class DDs were built tho..... or is it 200? but Jap classes dont really exceed 20

Still if you're only into KC for, what, 4 months, and dont really play often at all, + you're the kinda guy who forgets his entire classes names over a summer holiday AND takes atleast a year to learn all the new names and put them with the right faces... But I guess I'm just a semi-unsocially guy who has problems with names and faces unless they are really important to me.

Yeah, er, I can't really associate names with faces either. The reason I know the names is not because of KC but because I'm a naval enthousiast (understand naval lunatic)
Besides worry not, even so, the only thing I can consistantly name are class leader names, and I don't think there's a single class of 6+ ships in which I can quote all the sisters.

Anyways, the Henrietta. Always a weird one, doing ships that never existed. I went with the historical Henri the Forth's tendency to boast about his support for education and reforestation in France under his rule, which is why I went with the teacher theme and some pine trees and pinecones. Probably could have done more with the bike, but quite frankly I suck at drawing mechanical objects into computers.
