As for the real ships: no matter how the Krauts refer to, ships are always female IMO and I'll keep refering them that way. In navies I'm sure more ships were named after males than females, yet those ships themselves are usually considered female.

There really aren't many of them. There is Victory Bells (an english one with ship girls from different nations), Warshipgirls (a chinese version) and then the official Kancolle.

 

Basicly everything else are clones stealing from the others.

Bismarck (the person) is male but ships are referred to as female in Germany. "Die Bismarck" - "Die" = female version of "the"

The german language is more complex than that. It depends on how you talk about the ship and what kind of class of ship you are talking about, it can either be masculine, feminim or neutral gender.

 

Also, I do believe that there were several sailors who referred to her as female (like pretty much any nation) and some who referred to who as it or he.

I recenty discovered there is another shipgirl game called Azure lane. It's Chineese again, but this time the combat is different. Not all RNG based. You actually control your fleet in a sort of sidescroll shooting manner.

The game itself have a lot of menus and ship names in english and having ships of other nations + is no more than a month old.
