Since the other day I got 3 of the 4 Kongo sister. I still need to drop Hiei.

 

But I managed to craft Suzuya ! :p

 

Also I just upgraded Akagi to Kai, and I need some steel to do the same for Kongou.

Eh. Well I guess it just shows how ny tastes are weird anyway. I never met anyone who like the Yuugumo class outfit after all while I absolutely love it.

on a somewhat realted note I'll add that tonight shigu is my hero ^-^

what happened?

welp was running E5N map in need for last boss kill to clear the event - low on time and extremely low on fuel

 

in the third run of this night - boss and Battleship princess survived to see the night battle - boss with grand most of it's HP intact, princess with only scratches

 

4 ships fired, choukai, yuudachi, Ooi, Kitakami - all targetted battleship princess, only Kitakami finally managed to sink her off - situation seemed pretty awkward - boss with over 600 hp left, and quite a well armored one, and only two ships left to fire.

 

and then the shigure, in all her glory as the 5th ship to fire triggered her TCI, rolled crit [most likely] and have scored a hit against the boss with huge number well above 400 of damage done,

 

this allowed Abukuma's double attack to finish the boss of giving me clear ^-^

 

[full event cleared on medium difficulty wooohoooo ]

Those are not 46cm turrets but the prototype 41cm. I am actually not sure if there is anything historical they are based on or if they are just made up for the game.

first of all, I dont think the triple turrets look all that good.

the cloak is amazing.

and we need more rock hard abs stomach.

as for tripple turrets this sparked one piece of curiosity in me.

 

I mean I have realised I have seen in many cases a "trend" that if a ship have different amounts of barrels per mount the superfiring mounts are those with more barrels.

 

but since more guns in turret means heavier turret, wouldn't it be better if heavier turret was in lower position and lighter one being higher? for sure would be more stable....

 

the only "advantage" of such turret layout I can really see would be potentially better firign arcs if superstructure wasn't going into the way of superfirign turret while in most of these the superstructure "behind" lower turret gets into arcs of it, and maybe a bit of sort og ammo handling - more guns means more shells in need to be carried from magazine to the turret and superfiring turrets are indeed closer the the center of the ship......

I am 200% sure it is based off some secretz documents for planned refittz for late-war nagato-class with moar guns cuz moar gunz is bettah but top secretz stuffz so no one ever but Tanake haz ever heard of dis thing

In ships like the Caio Duilio or the King George V the turret with more cannon is lower than the other with less cannon. first of all we must remember that kancolle is not historical so maybe they put the turrets like that becouse it look better.

that's not the issue for "stabilising" the warship - basically you want the center of the mass to be as low as possible to stabilise the ship - hence heavier turrets  being lower would result in more stable platform than the other way around.

 

and then considering what I know about how KC artists are making stuff I think they had some sort of reference to the turret layout - part of it could be how every single smaller ship with separate single and twin turrets have the twin turret in superfiring position ;)
