For whatever reason many people mystify the german 2nd WW military.

I think especially Japan somewhat has a german loving view of military stuff.

Bismarck and Tirpitz are in Top 10 of most played ships on all servers ( except for Tirpitz on SEA ) of WoWs but I agree that overall most numerous players on EU are Germans.

DKM ships popularity in first 10 most played:

EU 6 from 10

NA 2 from 10 with 6 from 10 being USN

CiS 3 from 10 with Schors as only VMF in first 10 ( Petropavlovsk grind ? )

SEA 1 from 10 with 7 from 10 being IJN

all data via wows-stats so not sure did it's further credible

 

So every server has main nation bias with exception of CiS which plays what they like to play.

@LastButterfly, Quoting myself to clear up an error I made: RN is not the only faction to not have an SR DD, it's just the only one of the main 4 to not have an SR DD.

Sardegna Empire (Italy) and Dragon Empery (China) also do not have any SR DDs, but they are relatively minor factions compared with RN (Dragon Empery specifically only has Elite Rares, no Normal Rares or Rares either, which is kinda odd).

China didn't really have DDs in the first place... No, scratch that. They actually had a grand total of 2 dds active during the war. "The war" in an extended sense for us europeans, because borh got sunk in 37. So I guess if you want to give china any DD, whether "elite rare" or whatever else, you have no choice but to get some post-war sold/war prize/lent vessels. It limits the pool I imagine...

Reminds me of the time I made my own Pan-asian DD branch for WoWs. I was pretty happy of how it turned out surprisingly, but it was still like 70% foreign vessels. You don't get much choice.

Yeah, of the 9 ships the Empery get in-game, four of them are the Gnevny-class DDs: An Shan, Fu Shun, Chang Chun and Tai Yuan.

The rest are various CLs of different sizes and ages: Chao Ho, Ying Swei, Ning Hai, Ping Hai and Yat Sen.

Notably, the Ning Hai sisters get retrofits that actually gives them a surprsing amount of firepower when fielded together (and when they team up with Yat Sen they become ridiculously tanky through Evasion buffs). Why am I pointing this out to you? Because I like them. A lot.

It should also be noted that despite Manjuu/Yonshi being a Chinese company, their creator provincialism only extends so far as to give the China-analogue some interesting ships without them being all that powerful (and a loading screen blurb that describes the Empery as a "Core" member of the Azur Lane/Allies). This is in stark contrast to a certain Russian company that shall remain nameless.

I think China has problems with real-world countries/names/etc. being used for fictional stories, so they tend to be "dressed up" in flowery ways. China also has a specific problem with anything related to Japan during WW2, so all of the IJN ships have their names changed on the CN(China) server (they retain their historical names for JP and EN servers, which are uncensored in...other...ways, too).

As for the Royal Navy? I think it should be interpreted in the sense that the "Royal" Navy in AL is literally commanded by the "Royal" Family (it's not outright stated, but Queen Elizabeth -as in HMS Queen Elizabeth- is treated as though she is the literal Queen of the nation represented by the "Royal Navy", King George V on the other hand is QE's "Knight Commander" in spite of her name). Different ship classes in the AL RN seem to have different "Royal" roles, with CLs being mostly maids and J-class having a princess-theme by wearing crowns (although they apparently aren't actually princesses, as the crowns are just decoration???Sometimes this game is just confusing with its lore).

Still in China both Nationalists and Communists have pretty big armies even for allies standards and in fightings against Japanese agression many countries helped them.

 

 

You mean WG with promoting Russian and Soviet Navy? I would say that still it's very far from vulgar nationalism, they didn't hide Great Purge (  they mentioned this in various parts of collections ) or 1939-41 period ( in news and adding Tallinn and Sevastopol ). At least they have respect for their navy and history and try to promote this in rather bearable for me way. If we seek for real provincialism then can't colle fits like crazy. Good and most powerfull IJN as savior of world against aliens, crying and mourning about their history of lost fleet, with erasing any signs of "bad behaviors" during wartime. With I-8 being a wehraboo but with erasing of any sings of certain events from her career. Kirishima whose last commander was really "interesting" person and in 1945 he made using sailor infantry from sunken ships ( not IJA or MP ) real genocide of citizens of certain big city. I can remember wrong but didn't he also wore glasses like KC Kirishima. Et cetera.

 

 

Also. In AL I have mission "Interact with shipgirl in dorm one time". How to made this? I moved them to various places like chairs, sunbeds and swimming pool but nothing happened, clicked on heart and coin icon when appeared and then nothing happened, changed characters in dorm and still no tick for mission.

Its a bit odd but I got into it more that Arknights that I ... simply couldnt wrap my head around it.

 

Also there is some environmental damage as there is a cover system and cars, I was surprised when they "accidentally" started blowing up cars but its ok, they are hallow point bullets/grenades/rockets ... I dont exactly get the setting besides its some kind of academy city but been light on the subject so far, then again I haven seen much of it so far.

I just find whole "cute schoolgirls going somewhat not schoolgirly things" to be tad exhausted at this point and then angelic halo + animal features. In AK at least you have separate races that have animal, demonic or angelic traits, here its just "I want all and then lots of cute/fanservicy/both".

 

I'll look more into the story to see if its any cohesive. And then primary reason I'd possibly want to start the game, Taiho err Hasumi is part of starter squad by the looks of it?

Well yes and no, she certainly sounds like Taihou but I just checked and Hasumi is voiced by Asami Seto and Taihou is by Aoi Yuki but yes, she is part of the starting squad.

I really like the look of this game and I'm very tempted to start playing it.

The problem is, I'm already playing two gacha games (AL and Touhou Lost Word) with another currently on ice (Genshin Impact), so I don't really feel like I have time for another. I definitely don't have screenspace for a third on my ipad, given that that is how I'm playing both AL and TLW.

A part of me is tempted to download Bluestacks and use my Google account to play the game on my PC, but that just means its competing for screenspace with GI and my Steam library (including two games I have bought but haven't played yet, as well as several I haven't finished).

Now, if I'm being completely honest, TLW has hit the point of abject boredom for me. There's nothing especially interesting to do in the game (other than raise toehoes to max level) and the plot for the main story and events feels like low-quality fan fiction so I've found myself just skipping basically all of it (not to mention there is a lot of plot, so much so that a battle that takes 10s to beat will be weighed down by 2minutes of story - and there are a lot of battles that have story). I could basically just quit the game whenever, but I want to wait for Satori to get a "Fantasy Rebirth" (reset character to level 1, but unlock bonus stats and the ability to "oath" them) before I do so.

I guess for the time being, I'm just going to keep my eyes on Blue Archive from the sidelines.

So I've started Blue Archive... and I suppose trying to make sense out of the story/setting, at least early on seems to be futile endeavour, with initial assessment of what still being valid. Though gameplay somewhat resembles GFL?

Though its mentioned jacketed hollow point ammo is deemed as "merely annoying" to the denizens of the Kivotos academic city, but lethal to the outside protagonist and somehow there are ww2 tanks there

I don't think I'll be playing BA for too long either - gameplay looks eh, not fond of character designs and story/world building I've already summed up before. Basically another mobile gacha that I don't see dethroning AL nor AK in my daily routine. 

 

 GFL2 looks at least nice, but then I somehow don't get along with turn based games.

That was kinda one of the reasons why I didnt play Arknights much because tower defense requires having some thought and every mission would have to played manually at least once, BA is similar on AL were you can just let it play by itself that is a plus if you dont have much time, that I think its were mobile games are going ... they all are trying to make people play with the their dailies (thats another issue) but so far it doesnt seem to require much investment and its easy to catch on mechanically so people are more willing to pick then up.

 

But yes, I get why having so many games is too much ... I been out of traditional MMOs because they follow the Timesink/Pay4Time that is too much, even WOWS gets in my skin with trying to force the 6 dailies/3 containers and I dont think I could still be playing BDO as it was meant to be played.
