Me neither, I wasnt aware of Suruga getting a secretary quest or Shimakaze ... well autocomplete for me with Suruga since she was among the first 3 SSRs and she meets all the requisites.

Also I am not sure how they will handle Fusou META since META awaken differently.

Neither was I.

I mean, we already knew about the Poi Pooch and the additional difficulty for Daily Raids, but the rest is a pleasant surprise.

I'm kinda disappointed I can't use CogChips in exchange for CogChipmk2. I have so many cogchips that I'm never going to run out!

Rainbow Skillbooks? I wonder how they'll compare to the "X" Skillbooks in Touhou Lost Word? (Bronze: 12hours, 900 skillexp; Silver: 12hrs, 1350 skill exp; Gold: 12hrs, 1800 skill exp - note that THLW needs three additional types of skillbooks, because it uses skillbooks wholesale in upgrading characters)

Season pass is also starting? Guess I'll see what they offer before deciding to pay for that.

Fleet tech includes minor factions! At last, all the effort I poured into my robot waifus is not going to waste! Also, it now feels like there's a point to taking certain ships all the way to lvl120. I've been holding off on MN DDs and my Gangut/Tashkent cheap fleet. Aquila, too, for that matter.

Hidden materials in OpSi automatically collected! Good, one last piece of micro-management sorted out.

 

I also find it amusing that it was the OpSi update back in December 2020 that was the reason I initially quit Genshin Impact, and now Azur Lane casually drops another epic update at just the right time when I'm thinking about quitting again!

On a slightly different topic, if anyone here interested in tabletop games?

Japanime Games has just announced they are publishing Heiki Strike Alternative in English!

It's a TTG about WW2 miltary vehicles and equipment antropomorphised as cute girls. 2-player, with each player choosing to play as either Allies or Axis.

I'm thinking of supporting the crowdfunding, but I might have to see a gameplay demo first. From what few descriptions I can find, it sounds like a deck builder and I love deck builders.

But yea, anniversary looks bleak... or entertaining, if you're into watching shitshows and memes. Theater as "memory lane" was nice, but 40+20 is literally daily worth of primos, another 40 if you manage to get primogems from someone else gift. 10 pull from logins is... something, but the same 10 pull gift we had during Lantern Rite/CNY event, as well that event featured 4* Liyue character of choice as well something like 1k primogems. So you might say entire anniversary is just the Theater.

 

I don't need "gib free 5 star", even when missing Mona and Jean from standard pool as lets be real, artifacts are actual limiting factor when it comes to building characters. But some mementos - namecard, pet or gadget to flex later on would be nice.

Considering this is their first anniversary of a game, that was one of the successfulls lauches in recent times, this is quite pathetic.

Especially since it seems that a regular event gave almost the same before.

Honestly, this "gib frei 5 star" was expecting abit much maybe. But more the 10 pulls should be within their possibility. (Especially since currently the lamest character is on banner)

As some said, maybe a special building for the teapot, something else kosmetic would've also been nice.

Probably not, though if CN server is rioting hard enough, then who knows, they were able to get Zhongli buffed despite being his kit back then being "working as intended".

I doubt anyone sane was expecting free Ganyu or other limited character, just standard ones. Which for long term players might as well be useless gift, when one lost enough 50/50.

 

While free pulls would be nice, game is not only entering another content drought, as Inazuma wraps up, but also rerun season with only known new character being Thoma.

 

Obviously, if you're horny for Ganyu, Hu Tao, Xiao or who else will have their rerun, then they might come in handy

Limited characters. Maybe not those recent, but all of those who already had a rerun (Childe, Venti usw.) would've also bee nice.

 

Well, I was not talking about free pulls exclusivly. They also could've given out alot of Primos, so that players can decide on what to use it if they don't want to roll.

But I don't remember when the last time I used it was.

(Even then, I only used it because I wanted to speed up the process of levelling Shimakaze specifically)

That's...really really bad value. You would just keep using gold books as two gold books for 16hr spent and 2400earned is much better value. (unless you meant 1500base, which gets boosted by 50% when used on same-colour like the others - in which case yeah, that's pretty nice)

I think they'll probably look like the "Gold X" books from THLW, 12hours and 1800exp - that way it's +50% time investment over gold for +50% experience. Net even, essentially. (in my mind the golds are 8hr for 1200, because I don't use them off-colour)

Free 5*, or some free fates (enough for a few 10-pulls) would have been a decent gift, if you ask me. Give 30fates and split them 2:1 limited:standard would have been about right (10 for each banner).

Login event is eeeehhhhh. 10 limited pulls is nice, I'm not going to waste them on Kokomi banner, though.

If they had taken that "gacha prize" of a free Welkin Moon and simply given that to everyone who logged in before a certain date, I think that would be a generous gift. (possibly too generous though, I'm not really expecting something like that)

 

Special building for teapot sounds right up my alley. Maybe a fireworks launcher that actually has a pre-programmed fireworks display? That'd be pretty epic.

So the hall gives more EXP in 12 hrs than the dorm?

Yeah, I meant 1800 including the 50% bonus (i.e. 1200 base). In other words your suggestion of 1500 base is the more generous.

I wasn't clear enough with my explanation of how my mind treats the skill book exp numbers.

Welkin moon is what, 5€ in value, as mihoyo themselves set that price in the shop. And from that you get 300 genesis crystals and 2700 primogems, 18 pulls total but you're forced to log in daily for month. Meanwhile actual 10pull, if you were to buy directly, would cost you 15€ with x2 bonus or 30€ without

 

So "free Welkin Moon" is actually good option - players  because free pulls and they have incentive to log in daily, while Mihoyo gets to keep player retention up once event ends.

Tbh it is actually weird how badly mihoyo is messing up right now. They should have plenty of experience given their background and known what happens if they're being so stingy with anniversary rewards.

 

Only thing I can think of is some top level executives saw how well the game is doing and thought they could get away with being greedy, disregarding long term profits and game health.

Bonus points for Chinese company doing what Chinese do best, censor and mute all... disagreeable voices. Including Google store ratings, as game magically recovers just as fast as it dipped down, currently at 2.8. That or Mihoyo simps went full whiteknight

 

Again, they might be trying to replicate Honkai as IIRC first anniversary was 10pull and some in game supplies, but then, Honkai never exploded in popularity like Genshin did.  Even more so as latter's anniversary overlaps with some CN IRL event, so not matter how you paint it, it will look bad - either you show off patriotism and make event on par with CNY, with anniversary being just Theater or you make event rewards "potentially not patriotic" and you're still stingy with anniversary.

 

Also fact Mihoyo spend disturbing amount of $ for twitter custom emotes just for hope of free promotion associated with "community events" instead in game rewards that cost nothing anyway is even more hilarious

Depending on the requirements I cannot tell how generous it is, since the META ship is not pay I say its fair but I am hoping its not like WG directives forcing people into grinding specific parts of the game, I like AL is a game you can just run in the background sort-of-speak so changes to that would be unwelcomed.

It's not just that, but it looks like you get Gems as part of the BP.

According to comments on Twitter it's also a 2-month BP, so your 10$ is more like 5$/mo - which makes it better value for money than even the daily shipment(?) thingy.

All that was needed was a single line hinting towards more to come and this entire debacle could have been completely avoided. I understand wanting to surprise players but letting them rage is not preferable to say the least.
