About AL Littorio I have same thoughts. She has some inner power in her which most RM warships lacks in KC. Also her look have something strong in it. As I remember she is leader of Sardagena Empire like Queen Elizabeth/KGV are leaders of Royal Navy or Deutschland ( her pose on one of skins is similar to one portrait of Adolf H ) is for Ironblood?

Actually, I believe that the memories from the event point to Vittorio Veneto being the overall commander for the Sardegna Empire, I think...

I like how KC has put forward a lot of Italian characters - by count, there are more Italian gals than any other non-Japanese nationality - but I don't like a lot of things about them. From their design and personalities (hooray for stereotypes!) to stats and equipment (Aquila is a disgrace, and non-Due Zara and Pola are not too far off, and don't get me started on the 381 mm gun!).

As for Littorio... I don't hate her. I just can't bring myself to like her. Far too bland and insignificant. Other than being a good fork, she doesn't have much going for her.

AL Littorio, for all her being a trademark ineffective Sympathetic Villain, is much more interesting. Her arrogance and her egocentrism and her sexuality make her much more appealing to my eyes, don't ask me why. It helps that she's not that useless, in the end.

Have you noticed how we haven't had any new German ships for years in KC?

Considering most of them were designed by Shimada Humikane, makes you wonder if something happened...

These pair are great :Smile_great:

I love KC's J-class, too. They are so cute when they smile.

I'm looking forward to what AL does with Jervis, considering the J-class DDs we have at the moment are designed like cute little princesses I'm hoping she's either the most regal or the most haughty. Regal because she'd clash well with the bratty 'queen' Liz, haughty because she's essentially the British Yukikaze.

Either way, I think she'll be RN's first gold DD, assuming we don't get Tribals beforehand.

Same situation, most of RM warships from KC is not interesting for me. Ok, Aquilla has interesting design but her stats make her literally useless in most situations. Pola? Funny from first sight, boring and stupid at second - especially when you are triggered against propaganda created stereotypes, let's remember that 1/3 crew of Pola died in battle. Littorio KC - so boring and so bland, same as Zara which at least it's very strong at her K2 form. I leave here DD's created by jiji because their design is just disguisting to me and their author probably has serious problem in his mind...:Smile_sceptic:  Garibaldi is another design which I didn't like. One of most recognizable warships of the Cold War Era, who bore the name of such famous General and politic reduced into stupid siscon without any reason.

But there are two exceptions.

Abruzzi is funny, I very like her happy and lively personality although not without few exceptions.  For me she was true reward of Summer 19 (not only because Janus is just average, boring and I have many OASW DD's) Also she had very good stats and she is strongest day battle CL. She is also good girl because she proposes alcohol and snacks to the Admiral for 1-st PM but her night hours lines are just stupid. She really only boozing all the day? :Smile_unsure: But from few months she is my permanent secretary in game and

Oops. She is only non BB which have lvl 100+ :Smile_unsure: ( Musashi, Yamato, Iowa, Ise, Nagato, Colorado and Mutsu unpleasant look at Admiral )

If any other KC RM warship is also nice and I like in this game, it will be for sure Roma because her strong and dreary personality (I like very much such characters like Roma or Hayashimo) and how her service is depicted. Her speech about german planes has such strange power like Hayashimo's "watching always and forever" ( witnessing of sinking Shiranui and Fujinami ) or Taihou about "That Suisei" ( japanese pilot crashed his airplane into torpedo wake to save carrier, from being hit - other torpedo however hit  )

About AL Littorio I have same thoughts. She has some inner power in her which most RM warships lacks in KC. Also her look have something strong in it. I actually rather like KC's RM designs.

Pola especially, I love her taiha shopping/wine portrait from fall 2016:

"More Wine!"

I like Littorio/Italia's more simple design, while at the same time I like Roma's more serious personalty.

On the ground level, I like the DD designs for being cute and energetic, but they are definitely borderline-Jiji-usual-stuff. Grecale is just straight-up jailbait.

Although there was a couple of pieces of fanart of Grecale I found amusing (Safe, but borderline NSFW):

Spoiler

I chickened out, pm me if you want the links.

I assure you, nothing happens in that sense, but there's just enough to make me think I'm courting with a forum warning...

The first one basically has Grecale start acting like a little kid who just wants attention after being ignored "Waaaah! Pay attention to meeeee!"; the second is a two-parter where the first part has Grecale teasing the TTK while the second part has her immediately panic and start crying when TTK reciprocates (he stops).

However, I'm not fond of Jiji's designs for the CLs. I think it's something to do with how they all seem bigger than Zara and Pola. It's a little bit silly, honestly.

*EDIT*

I think Vittorio Veneto is the leader of Sardegna, Littorio is more like Prime Minister. Think of their relationship as like Mussolini's relationship with the ill-fated Italian Monarch of the time (I forget his name - Litt is Muss, Vitt is King).

Also, pretty sure Bismarck is IB's faction leader in AL.

I played AHiT last year on my PS4, sans DLC (it wasn't available on consoles at the time). It just so happens that the game was released on Switch back in October with the Seal the Deal DLC, so I rebought it and am playing through the DLC. Nyakuza Metro was released last month so I've finished that and now I've turned my attention to finishing the Death Wish Contracts. Which are total bull:etc_swear: and I refuse to even consider trying to do all of the bonus objectives - Peace and Tranquility FTW.

Considering the old guy was the one who ended up giving him the boot, and at least died in his bed, I'd wonder who was the most ill-fated there...

Anyway, I don't think their relationship mirrors that historical one. It's more of a standard case of shy sister vs exhuberant sister, in my opinion. Vittorio Veneto is the overall commander, while Littorio is more of a field/fleet commander.

I think we should not search too much for historical accuracy - ofc some referenes could be hidden, some can be more visible than other but I can not say that I not see straight references in case of  Sakura Empire.

Warning - my interpretation, may be very strong overinterpretation.

In example in Sakura Empire, Nagato is for me more or less reference to the Emperor, Amagi is Feudal Japan or Restoration Meiji movement or even Japan of pre 1937, Akagi and Kaga are symbols of Japan post 1937 to 1942 ( I do not watched anime but I heard that Akagi want's Amagi to be ressurrected -  some of parties/coteries of this time in Japan wanted feudal times to return ) while Taihou is Japan of years 1944-195. This resembles their approach into Shikkan.

Amagi is more like educated and very clever wife of feudal Seigneur caring about court with diplomacy, culture and dignity ( she is also ill as it could be reference to the Economic Crisis of 20's and clear reference to the Earthquake Kanto which destroyed her ),

Akagi is possesive and agressive, also she recognizes Shikkan as someone lower than her, she want's to dominate him while Taihou is also possesive but she in reality she recognizes Shikkan as superior than her - she is extremely and fanaticly devoted to him but she doesn't have power of Akagi. Akagi wants to rule him and have absolute control, Taihou wants to serve him - maybe she even recognizes herself only as "weapon" or "tool" in hands of Shikkan. In this case Taihou could be interpreted as Japan of years 1944-1945 when the war was already lost and Akagi when they archived "Six Months of Glory".

KC event - I'm farming E-4 for Houston - she is literally only character which I want from this event. 76 runs, no sign of her. I got so far 3 Akitsu Maru with lower drop rate - ok at least free Daihatsus and Autogyros, 3 Yukikaze, countless Mutsu and Kongo class, many other ships with much lower drop rate. Just ranting because she isn't meta breaking ship and getting her seems to be joke.

I meant ill-fated because he was exiled and Italy switched from Monarchy to Republic after his reign. Honestly, from what I read (and I will be the first to admit I didn't read a lot) it seemed he really didn't do much to warrant being kicked out and it was more his association with the then-dead-but-still-vilified Mussolini that got him the boot.

Kinda sad to be honest.

If you can feel sad for fascist :etc_swear:s.

Sauce.

Too true. I remember saying it here on this very thread that I would be skipping this event and saving my cubes for Polaris.

In the end I have all seven Hololive ships and all of the rewards for event missions. I'm not going to spend my gems on skins though, I want to save them for Ning/Ping Hai and Eldridge's L2D Idol skins.

...

Dammit, I watched one video of Natsuiro Matsuri's videos and now I'm considering getting her 'Day-off' skin...

Eh, nah. He stood for Mister B throughout the years and approved pretty much everything he did. He was by all means an accomplice (and of pretty heavy stuff), not just a bystander.

What is interesting is that he likely hung on to the throne too much. Had he abdicated for his son (or better, his grandson) in 1943, I consider it most likely that the major parties would have not asked for an institutional referendum and would've settled for a new constitution, while wiping the slate with a new king. Instead, he made his son a kind-of-prince-regent, and abdicated on the eve of the referendum, a move that reeked of desperation. And even then, the republic won by a slim majority.

Whenever I store 5 air strikes and release them all at once.

Air strikes are more useful as screen clearance than actual damage.

BBs are better at dealing damage to the enemy ships, due to their aimed shots and expecially those with barrages. Oh, and BBs can equip secondary guns for dealing with suicide ships.

I'm not getting my hopes up. This anime has been giving me flashbacks to the KanColle anime. Except worse.

Am I exagerating? Maybe, but honestly the ridiculously cringey fanservice in episode 6 has kinda killed a lot of my interest in continuing to watch.

That fan service was sad, maybe they were trying to win back some viewers :Smile_trollface:

Other than that, it seems... okay. Saying that, Kancolle anime was alright to me too, so take it with a pinch of salt.

That AL anime is arguably terrible anyway.

It's just cheap fanservice shot one after another, rushed and botched animation, and the script is basically Mary Sue Enterprise doing everything.

Kancolle anime was boring but at least they tried during the action scene. The movie was meh but at least brought some lore and had some very high quality animation in the action scene.

AL feels just cheap.
