I'm in total agreement with you. I'm definitely at least a dolphin when it comes to AL, if not actively borderline whale.

Unlike when I spent £140 in FEH or the occasional premium ship purchase in WoWS, I don't feel really dirty after spending money on the occasional £28.99 goodiebag (or buying the £80 motherload of gems before the anniversary double gem reset). Well, I felt dirty after buying Bache's "Gorgeous Speed-star" skin, but that's a whole different matter...

I wouldn't mind spending on AL, as its rare case of not ridiculously overmonetized game, especially of mobile variety and quite fun at that. But alas, I see nothing that would trigger me for buying stuff, as all "important" stuff like dorm, academy and dock expansion you can cover by free gems from simply playing the game and even then I was able to afford single skin, which while nice and jiggly, still left sour aftertaste of ill spent currency

She is shoehorned into long range spamming and any attempts to, well, teamplay usually ends with you going back to port at supersonic speed. Besides meme 20km torps or borderline yolo 12km ones, there isn't a thing Yoshino can do that Alaska or Stalingrab can't.

 

Heck, she is the ship I seriously consider putting range upgrade because 21km isn't enough for her at times. Especially as everyone takes pot shots at you because how easy to cit she is or at least to score decent pen damage with overmatching guns.

She's easily my most reliable ship. Surprisingly tanky as long as you don't get caught broadside on, and the guns are just epic. Amazing accuracy that the other big cruisers can only dream of.

The range, great HE and accuracy obviously gives you a reliable fallback as a long range spammer, but she can definitely push if she has support and not overwhelming resistance. The accuracy gets downright unreal at medium to close range, so it's definitely worth closing in if you can limit incoming fire.

Hiryuu was actually one of my first CVs. Got her when I was progressing through the story.

 

She's pretty easy to farm (relatively speaking) since she and her sister can drop from every fight on 3-1.

Yoshino can demolish Alaska and Stalingrad though, given it's basically the best supercruiser to kill other supercruisers and the supercruiser least bothered by fighting other cruisers, due to having the most cruiser-like levels of HE dpm and concealment.

It starts out like DD accuracy at 0 metres, matches cruiser accuracy at around 7 km and always will stay ahead of supercruiser accuracy, as it'd match at around 30 km, which no supercruiser reaches. Stalingrad at times achieves similar accuracy due to 2.65 sigma, but Alaska never does.

Yup. Got both of them that way.

Now that I think about it, in terms of Sakura carriers I'm a bit on the weak side. I only recently learned you can farm for Akagi and Kaga on 3-4 (even though I got the latter in BB form from the event), and my best ones are no higher than lvl 90. Guess I should do something about it, I can't have Lucky E and Illustrious bail me out each and every time!
