Not insubstantial (just reaching 100 affection will give your ships a 6% boost, marriage doubles that once you reach 200), but not necessary either. I recommend spending your diamonds on dorm slots first if you haven't already.

Well, some ships also have special skins you can unlock via marriage, though most of them aren't in EN yet.

Got my last pizza. That's pretty much it for me, though depending on how long the event lasts I may go for extra baguette among other things as well.

Also my first event in which I didn't get completely wiped out in resources.

Still took me around 160k fuel, 150k ammo, 50k steel and 90k bauxite tho. Christ, now I have to recuperate that for the winter event AND go clear the maps again. T_T

Event finished. French Battleship Hime is the most salty enemy I have to face. Now let´s farming a bit

This Kancolle event was quite an adventure;

The event was overall easy; farming was the hard part;

With exactly 187 farming S ranks on E-5 that was quite the wild adventure;

While it was tough it was well worth it!

Here are some silly drop numbers:

 

7 Nagato, 7 Mutsu, 4 Sakawa, 4 Noshiro, 3 Yahagi, 3 Graf zeppelin, 3 Pudding, 2 Bismarck, 2 Ark royal

 

On top of this after copious farming I also got:

Mizuho, Arashi, Littorio, gotland and HatsuDuki (187th time lucky)

 

of course i also got all of the reward ships too;

Overall I loved the event! The final abyssal boss looks epic; And I've gotten some shipgirls I've wanted for ages!

 

Also; Gotland is adorable!!! I really like her design!

I kind of gave up on Kancolle. Ever since the change to Phase 2, it takes ages to load things and quite frankly, I don't like having to wait 5 seconds just for it to open the dock or quests or whatever, just to play a game that frankly is by itself of little fun. Girls Frontline or Azur Lane have more interesting gameplay and are faster. Heck, I can play Honkai Impact 3rd on emulator and it is faster. I have no clue what is wrong with Kancolle, but frankly, I cannot find the motivation to open the game and that basically killed it for me. 95% of what is nice about the game is art and OST and that I don't need to play the game for...

With the Phase 2, there is a lot to load. But once you played it 5/6 times and fiddled a bit with the menu as you are playing, everything becomes much smoother. Smoother than it was before the phase 2 actually.

Will try that then, though I must say, my interest in general is not really great. I like the Kancolle characters, but the game itself... about as enjoyable as Ranked. Thanks though.

Scrapped one Sandy on Sunday for 10+1 MoH. Scrapped another today for 10+1 MoH, and saw I only needed to scrap four more characters for a bonus 5 MoH from the missions. That put me on 83 MoH total.

Bought her instantly.

That 'Big E' skill looks really nasty. Will be a while before I put it to use, though, as I'm undecided if I want to wait until I get both Ping Hai and Terror to make my third fleet or if I want to just get Terror and put together a low-oil-cost fleet for grinding maps. If I choose the latter, I might as well continue on with the story missions and unlock my fourth fleet for my Ning Hai/Ping Hai/Liepze-whateverhernameis fleet. But the latter option also has the caveat that I'd need to come up with another main fleet comp...

I really think it's a matter of perspective.

 

Kancolle is great because I don't want to invest time in it, just doing my PVP twice a day and relaunching expeditions as I'm doing something else, while waiting for the next event is good enough for me. I play more in the week-end as I have the part 2 maps to re-clear and some quest to do, but I still play something else or read a book or whatever at the same time.

I like the "lore" of kancolle, and tbh the event we currently have was pretty fun. I like theorycrafting a lot, and kancolle is very nice for that.

 

I just don't want to bother with AL at all. And there are too many design I just don't like in AL. And too many borderline stuff for my liking too.

 

I understand wanting more gameplay, and I do think kancolle staff is trying to make the game more interesting lately, but on the other hand I also understand people who just quits because AL is better for them.

What I think is handicapping kancolle a lot, is how they fail to appeal to other markets. While AL is preparing a PS4 game, they just stick with the kancolle arcade, which is a dead-end concept. I don't know who is in charge of this (publisher ? Kadokawa ? DMM ? Tanaka ?) but they really should think hard about this, or they risk being left in the dust when it comes to being "outside the browser game" despite being the first one on the market.

 

I think Kancolle also doesn't realize the potential this game has oversea.
