But I personally still consider not using Portland's self-buff skill to be a bit of a waste if you are planning on levelling her.

Also, I quite like Indy's tankiness, hence why she's in my first cruiser-focused fleet.

Log in rewards aren't always bad. Don't know how common Pudding is, but got one drop and one from login. Pretty tanky though.

Nah, Pringles is actually pretty decent. You do get her as log-in reward too, but then again you can just use that to LB her so no harm done.

Her offensive stats are mediocre at best but she's one of, if not the most tanky frontline ship, outstripping even most backline capital ships with her HP pool.

Look decent enough. One thing to note tho:

Prince of Wales gets a buff with every USN (known as "Eagle Union" in the game) ship that is in her fleet for whatever reason. I would thus swap her to your second fleet as that consists of mostly USN ships.

So, as I unlocked my third fleet, I was wondering what to put into it.

 

For reference, current fleet setups:

Originally Long Island was in Fleet 1 (instead of Repulse) and Ranger in Fleet 2 (instead of Rodney). Tried to fit PoW with as many decent Eagle ships as I could find, Edinburgh is just there because I figured she's better than Omaha or a DD in that setup. I'm not keen on mixing escort fleets up, as one heavier ship would weigh lighter ships down and one point of using DDs would be to have the maneuverability. Light cruisers are kind of great, because they have the firepower to kill things and the maneuverability to dodge stuff, while also being quickfiring enough to kill suicide craft and they have AA. Considered Rodney and two Monitors for third fleet, to spam barrages, but that is kind of unreliable. Is this light cruiser trio ok, or better go for DDs or CAs?

They're all fine picks. Just note that Edin's skill buffs AP damage only, so you should have a gun that actually fires AP shells equipped on her.

Still, I'd probably replace her with a USN CL or DD to make full use of PoW. Helena, Brooklyn or Laffey spring to mind (if you have one of them ofc). Move Edin to fleet 2 instead to replace York or Kent. RN CAs in general aren't all that good for the most part. I think Suffolk and Exeter, both with refits, are the only decent ones (though refit Exeter is future content).

 

Also replace Repulse if possible. She's, well, sub-par to say the least. If you've done enough PvP already go for SoDak, otherwise Arizona (heal) or one of the Fuso sisters (firepower) will do the job just fine.

 

By the way, you can only deploy two fleets max, so place your ships accordingly. Personally I only use fleet 3 and 4 for ASW maps, something you probably won't have to deal with for quite some time.

 

Still no Ark Royal for me. For s sake Tanaka, just give me my tea bote already. T_T

Current event result for me :

- E-5 finished.

- Started farming boss of E-5 to get Hatsuzuki, Ark Royal and Gotland

- Got Prinz (Yay). Bismarck... THRICE. And a Graf Zepp dupe. Still no goddamn Duck, Ark nor Gotland. I'm currently elevating them to the rank of Myth, Legend and Lie respectively.

 

I swear I'll flip a table if I don't get Hatsuzuki by the end of the event. I need her absolutely.

My ressources are still "somewhat" ok. Currently down to 181 buckets, 29k Fuel, 32k Ammo, 17k Steel and 9000 Bauxite. I farm E-5Casual with an STF that consume around 300 fuel, 350 ammo, and 150 bauxite per run, so I'm still okay for now.

The random taiha by the sub hime are getting out of hand tho... I even took OASW Shigure to farm, but she still trolls me... 

 

At least, farming E-5 allows me to XP pretty quickly both Nelson (flagship of main fleet) and Prinz Eugen (flagship of escort).

Also, Nelson touch is OP. It's well worth using double line (which doesn't nerf your FP that much anyway, and raise your accuracy) to trigger this. I do think it's not triggered often enough tho, but it may be related to luck and the fact she still isn't Kai.

Yeah, Edinburgh carries one of those TbtsK 15 cm fast-firing AP guns and I replaced Kent with her, while I'm still levelling Suffolk from dorm and commissions. I don't have any of the three, thus I first tried putting Gridley in. Then I remembered noone but Gridley has torps in that fleet and replaced her with Hammann. Highest level USN DD I have, gives protection to rear fleet and if I actually retrofit the ship, she might actually get AA mode. Combined with Cleveland, that might make it a decent AA fleet. In that sense, I might have to actually rearrange it so they are in a fleet with  PoW, Yorkdown and Enterprise for air fights. Put the Leander frontline with Hood, Rodney and Unicorn for RN fun.

 

I had nothing to replace Repulse with really that stood out. For now, put California there, but as said, might just put PoW there and the USN frontline to make it a CV fleet. York and Exeter will move to fleet 3 as reserves. I don't really want to replace York, because I like having them together. So they go both together to Fleet 3. I could use Prinz Eugen in third spot for the tanky setup, but I for now chose to stay with Eagle and Royal ships, just for immersion. It's weird enough already with that, given I cannot recall the Battle of Midway being won because one Leander class murdered her way through the Japanese lines. I would guess at some point, the time for others will come.

 

In general, is there a point to most ships? I feel like you can just have your two main fleets, two fleets for whatever special occasion and most of the ships you can just forget exist. In KC, you at least keep them for events, due to ship locking and historical setup routing and damage bonuses. Or is Repulse just there in case it's your waifu.

Meh, not really? Collection purposes I guess but other than that...

I mean, I just realized I have two more fleet slots unlocked. No idea what I'll do with those.

You can swap fleets when morale drops below green but in my experience that only happens when you grind ridiculously hard.

This is why I went with CVs instead. (4 CVs / 2 DDs + CL / 2 CA / CLT / 2 DDs) You get more combat nodes but in my experience you're still far less likely to get taiha'd than trying your luck against sub princess.

On the other hand it's quite a bit more expensive than STF (435 fuel, 475 ammo + bauxite), but I'll gladly spend those resources for that.

Apparently there's a debuff you can apply if you A+ rank the boss with both a CTF and a STF. Pretty sure you don't have to bother with that on casual tho.

like yorktown because of her reserved nature and quiet loyalty that and the fact she is more adult in terms of looks and has nice wavey long platinum blonde hair.
