As much as I do find her voice annoying, she's just not a bad ship stats-wise.

Oh, and yes, that is a 5-star Akizuki gun. I have three more, two 4-star and one 3-star. One is equipped on Juno as Javelin's deputy, one is equipped to Indianapolice as a secondary, and I forget who has the last one.

I got it for 3-starring the whole of the PoW event that's currently running on the EU server.

Personally, I'm not really interested in BBs, as CVs seem to be just as powerful and deal huge damage to the whole screen instead of just a single target.

Also, upgrading BB guns takes away upgrade parts from upgrading the main fleet guns, but upgrading planes is unique to CVs, so it's quite a lot easier to balance vanguard and mainfleet upgrades.

Currently, I'm more focused on getting Ning Hai and Ping Hai anyway.

Ohh, derp.

 

Some maps requires BB since there lots of suicide boats. CV cant defend themselves.

Nelson and Rodney have that skill too, but I've not leveled that skill that high to have such a firework on the sea.

But I've seen some monitors in PvP, which can shred your AI controlled fleet if they're in the wrong place.

How fitting it's an Atlanta-class, one of the ships I like the most in WoWs.

 

Currently training her up together with Portland and Indianapolis as Vanguard and Lexington as Flagship.

 

Not having lots of luck with ship drops outside of construction ... game keeps throwing the same commons at me in combat drops. Pretty sure I already enhanced a couple of those to max stats despite not really using them at all.

Sorry to say that San Diego is actually fairly common and not all that good (so much so that it's a meme in the community). None of the Atlanta class really are.

She's workable if you equip her right and puts out monstrous AA, but generally speaking there are better ships to sortie.

Anyway, the AA is still going to be useful every now and then. The first stage of the current event for example is lots of lvl 28 airplanes, so if I can level her some I should be able to use her to clear that stage at least.

Also, naturally I put those 127mm dual turrets on her, but now I know I got to level up her Barrage skill to make her a mob cleaner

In other news, she's hardly a Super Rare, but after shooting for her for a while I finally got:

Ping Hai's elder sister Ning Hai.

I definitely felt a sense of anticipation when I saw the build timer said 42 minutes. She's not my favourite of the two, but I wanted both anyway, given that they have abilities that power each other up. I don't currently have my third fleet open, so I'll have to progress the story a bit more before I can build a fleet around them - until Yat Sen (Yi Xian) gets released on the EU server I've read that Leipzig is a good alternative, so I'll be focusing on limit-breaking Koenigsberg, Karlsruhe and Koln next after acquiring Ping Hai.

Of course I've set her as my secretary for now until her sister comes home, so in the meantime my fleet's going to be living frugally and working on self-improvement. And steamed buns.

Well, now I can probably expect the next time the build timer says 42 minutes to be a troll and I get Ning Hai again.

 

...According to Wikipedia, the Ning Hai class had similar armament to Yuubari. Perhaps we can expect a new T4 Pan Asian premium at some point? Or maybe Ning Hai will be in the tech tree, while Ping Hai will be the premium? They did have a few differences that could warrant a tech tree/premium split.

I thoroughly recommend farming 3-4 for the foxes once you can just auto battle through it. Just note that unless RNGesus smiles upon you it's gonna take a long  time to get them to say the least.

Got a nice surprise. I wonder why did I even try to farm her at node J if she just decides to drop when I'm clearing boss...

Anyway, that makes almost all the drops I wanted. This event gave me two Bismarck, Eugen, Libeccio, Maestrale, Nelson, Pola and I-13. I'll try to get Hatsuzuki now, and if she ever drops, I'll just spend what's left of my ressource in E-4 TP boss node, to try to get Gotland and maybe some other pastagirl.

 

The nice part is that E-5 last boss is actually quite easy to farm cheaply with a very light STF.

 

If I have one things to say about this event, is that it made me realize how invaluable of an asset Tashkent is. She's so versatile. For the last two bosses I equipped her with two +12 torpedoes, her own triple tubes and a skilled lookout, and she nuked bosses in night battles. I also used her as standard DD with an additional support equip slot, used her with 2 guns + 1 torpedo tube + 1 radar (decent cut-in at night and better firepower at day with a good closing torpedo), used her as anti-install with 2 WG42 and 2 guns... 

She really is multipurpose and can fit in almost any fleet.

 

Also, Isokaze Kai B and Hamakaze Kai B were so useful I basically didn't sortie Maya at all. I really hope I'll get Hatsuzuki by the end of the event.

Put as secretary, put in dorm, use for battles, fit with good equips and level them to get easy MVP. Giving a ship right equips and a higher level than the rest can allow them to secure MVP really easy.

Lander is a good CL, especially for budget fleets that don't have a lot of SSRs (her skill can still be useful as support buffer for better units though). This however is what happens if you give one ship ~20 levels more, great equipment and the put them in a fleet that is a bit less maxed out.

ahh ok thanks wasn't sure how the process worked. also ill check if i have a leander is london any good? i have her as a substitute if need be.

 

by saving up like resources, crates, wisdom cubes because i've played some other mobile games that relied on saving to get half way decent rewards to keep progressing in the game.

He's just showing you what the MVP screen looks like. @Riselotte likes Leander a lot.

She's a common drop, but one of her base abilities boosts the firepower of cruisers in the fleet, so that's what makes her useful in an all-cruiser ensemble. She's also a light cruiser that can equip torpedoes, making her an efficient substitute for not having any destroyers in the fleet. If I'm not mistaken, London is a heavy cruiser?

I have Leander in a vanguard fleet with Belfast (smoke for evasion and HE fire chance buff) and Indianapolis (shields and defense buff).

I don't really think you need to save up with this game.

I mean, I am, but that's just an old habit I have when playing games. The game seems to be pretty generous with cube and gem rewards - so much so, I've easily saved up 30 cubes right now and that's despite spending a couple everyday rolling the 'Light' construstion trying to get Ning Hai and Ping Hai. Also, your Coin and Oil caps appear to be relatively low, suggesting the developers want you to spend them constantly. I tend to find I have nothing to spend oil on so I just spend it on snacks for the Dorm.

It also appears the bonus gems you get when you purchase them with real money applies to each purchase level separately. (in other words, I purchased the £5 level, but I took another look at Akashi's shop the other day and I saw that all of the pther levels - £1, £10, £80, etc. all still had the 2xGems bonus available for them)

Ehhhhhhh.... London's skill is nice. But it's a CA. Do you like using CAs? London might make on ok buff unit if you got nothing better. But CAs aren't exactly great most of the time. Her skill is pretty much Leander skill, but all ships, not just cruisers. So, doesn't stack with Leander. I'd still take Leander though, because Leander is waifu a CL and handles better. Only thing London brings over Leander is a few hp, CA guns and increased firepower, but Leander has better speed, evasion, torps and way better AA. And once Leander gets the refit, she is just straight up superior.

 

That is not to say London's terrible. You can play this early game with whatever you want. If I had London I'd stick her to York and Exeter in Fleet 2 instead of Kent. Just know, when dodging with CAs can be a pain and when you eat a torp, you typically don't just lolevade the damage.

 

Also, my post wasn't about promoting Leander (though you are free to embrace the cuteness), but to show that it doesn't take a lot of setup for a ship with objectively mediocre ingame value (but subjectively top tier waifu material) to steal MVP from units way more highly rated (e.g. Enterprise, which btw still did 1.5 times the damage anyone else except overbuffed Leander did). and for sure compared to Kancolle, where CLs typically won't take MVP from CVs unless I either equip the CV with fighters only, fight enemies the CV is absolutely useless against or go into night battle. Can pit a lvl 80 Agano vs a lvl 10 Hiryuu, Hiryuu likely still will secure the MVP due to opening air attack.
