Welp, just installed the BlueStacks emulator and am downloading Azur Lane.

 

Any tips, tricks, strategies for someone who basically just seen a few pictures and knows it's roughly resembling a bullethole game?

Christ, I hated BlueStacks. Never ran all that well on my PC and even caused some stuff to crash.

I recommend using Nox instead.

 

As for starting out, I assume you're going to play the EN version?

Also it's practically impossible to dodge everything. Dodge the slow moving stuff (like torps), those are the things that hurt.

I use Bluestacks myself. I underlined all the important stuff:

 

Press the keyboard button in the bottom right to bring up the mapping menu, there is a d-pad that you can bring up which allows you to use WASD, then just pull it over the place where the joystick ingame would be like in the image

When You start the boss battle in phase 2 of E-5...  This is unbelivable cancer. 12 girls with levels 90+, upgraded equipment, correct equipment, support expedition on boss node and with LBAS support can't do anything because 3 PT-tanks in boss, tanks almost all attacks. 

 

But telling the truth I'm not sure that I even want to get Nelson. First she isn't most desired shipgirl by me, her Nelson Touch CG is very doujinable  and what it's most important Phase 1 E-5 boss has few nice drops, in Phase 1 I can farm for Hayashimo ( real Event reward for me ), Gotland or Kanzlerin.

Yeah, I've outfitted pretty much everyone to kill those. Seemed to work somewhat fine as I was able to clear phase 2 without losing too much time or resources.

 

Final boss node drops tea botes along with pretty much everything else tho. That alone is worth clearing it imo.

I'm dropping down to casual for this, no way 2 medals are worth putting up with the extra salt.

Can You show Your setup for phase 2, please? Because I am interesting what I am doing wrong. Did You send Support Expedition for boss? Main problem is with LBAS because I don't have any LBAS dedicated planes only carrier planes mounted in airfield.

Committed two LBAS (2x bombers + 2x fighters) on boss with the third (all fighters/interceptors) on defense.

 

Was unsure how many EU ships you need, so I took three to be one the safe side. Apparently you only need two on easy tho.

Pretty sure I got lucky on my kill as the friendly fleet just nuked down the boss in what would've otherwise been a C result (as PT imps actually survived that run).

Apparently you can even take up to 6 capital ships if you're willing to go a few extra nodes and take an oiler.

(Also it says you can't take more than 3 capital ships otherwise. I'm pretty sure this is the fleet I ran with tho, maybe it's only for higher difficulties.)

@El2aZeR - many Thank You for posting. It looks like I'm using very similar setup but one Question. You doesn't use Type 3 shells in this setup? In enemy fleet there are many installations against which Type 3 is strong, or maybe it has deepen purpose. Telling the truth I mount Type 3 on all BB's and CA(V)'s and maybe in this is my suffering. Also why no BB in escort fleet? I got 3 FBB's in STF but divided beetween two fleets 2 MF + 1 EF ( Kongou Class ).

Honestly I just focused on killing the boss. In my experience those installations fall prey to the friendly fleet easily enough once you finish off those pesky PT imps along with everything else.

That's ofc assuming you don't get shafted by getting a weaker friendly fleet.

Well. My fleet it looks like is poor with sinking this PT's. It's almost sure that LBAS will sink one of them and rest of CF sink second but third will possibly tank all attacks in daytime. In night Friendly Fleet will possibly damage or sink few last enemys but when it comes to the Escort Fleet they do only scratch damage to the Boss and installation battleship - the most fun and engaging was ABKM TCI for 3dmg in boss - I got fuel and ammo so its not this case. Almost 30 sorties and boss gauge dropped to 760...

Well, that's why I got skilled lookouts and machine guns equipped. Those seem to do the job.

I got it. I'm uses only one Skilled Lookouts in Myoukou for better TCI but I got two of this. Machineguns - I got many in magazine ( 30+ ) 25mm guns and two 25mm CD, no 4 slot DD's but possibly my Yuudachi and Shigure will recive RE.  Now I'm in dilema. Try to beat this once more ( The soul of the gambler ) but Nelson has zero value to me ( not the most favourite shipfu or classes of warships ) but completion of the whole event or farm for nice girls in J node which is extremely easy.

Phase 3 boss is no issue at all in casual difficulty. Went with the CVs because in air power I trust as was proven when Zui-zui nuked the BB princess with a 450 damage crit. 

(Also didn't want to deal with the sub princess.)

 

Boss seems to hate Shokaku tho. Didn't have a single run where she didn't suffer at least medium damage.

So, Ajax has been dropped from my second fleet in favour of the more utilitarian Belfap and I'm in the process of commission-levelling Warnopants to replace Nevada in my first fleet.

Oh, and I'm loving the quad shelling from the 5-star PoW gun from the event.

Nice. I like the RN ships, but still no QE.

 

Got PoW from construction and Erebus. Will likely put PoW with my Eagle ships post-event, using her with RN ships for immersion now, so, grouped with Unicorn, Hood and the three Leander class (Repulse in other fleet).

 

Also, the shelling is great, though my frontline kinda wipes everything out on its own. Or well, one ship in particular racks up the kills...

As much as I do find her voice annoying, she's just not a bad ship stats-wise.

Oh, and yes, that is a 5-star Akizuki gun. I have three more, two 4-star and one 3-star. One is equipped on Juno as Javelin's deputy, one is equipped to Indianapolice as a secondary, and I forget who has the last one.

I got it for 3-starring the whole of the PoW event that's currently running on the EU server.

Personally, I'm not really interested in BBs, as CVs seem to be just as powerful and deal huge damage to the whole screen instead of just a single target.

Also, upgrading BB guns takes away upgrade parts from upgrading the main fleet guns, but upgrading planes is unique to CVs, so it's quite a lot easier to balance vanguard and mainfleet upgrades.

Currently, I'm more focused on getting Ning Hai and Ping Hai anyway.

Dunno. I'm not playing that much on the EN server  and really, Leander is the sole ship that high. Rest is in the 50s mostly. Some even lower. But Leander has always performed admirably and so she goes everywhere.

 

Also, it's so strange when your girls can eat a torp or collide with a suicide boat and evade all damage still.

Just you wait till you get some BBs to higher levels with decent skills. Quite a few of them become hugely powerful.
