Wait till you get to the big figures. Hell last year I saw a pretty damn large Kongou bust (the kind of stature, not just her boobs, though those were obviously accomodating).

One and a half floors of an entire hall are dedicated to merch. T-shirts, collectibles, figurines, manga/comics, pretty much everything can be found there.

Ashigara K2 ( of course It was obligatory for me to buy her from obvious reason ) from SEGA - quiet cheap but very nice quality. Imho one of best price-quality ratio from figures.

 

Maya from Taito ( green white box ) - nope, nope, nope, it's trash, poor quality ( in my figure at least, very big spacings beetween some of parts, hair ornamentations were bent ), price similar to Only Waifu figure but quality is very poor. (I will sold her when I finish my very nice standing Maya Garage kit which I bought on aliexpress. I can link an aliexpress auction if You want. I wait about three weeks for package but its nice mouldings - I do not have to pay VAT Tax  for some reason. Omniva Estonia post in EU) I heard that rest of Taito figures is much better so possibly I got my faulty example.

 

Atago from QuesQ - my most expensive KC figure. Very expensive and awsome quality. A little bit caricatural due to Anti Torpedo Bulges size ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) for me but rest is really awsome. My wallet is constructive total loss and awaits for scrapping.

 

Shoukaku and Zuikaku from SEGA - nice, interesting, they got quiver with arrows and bow with chord.  OFC not quality of QuesQ but price is good.  ZuiZui isn't in her Leyte camouflage so meh. Shoukaku doesn't has her typical face of battered dog so its advantage.

 

Choukai Kai Garage Kit on way from Mandarake ( Customs intercept her so wallet-kun heavily damaged will be ) and Myoukou K2 with Nachi K2 SEGA from Mandarake too ( diffrent package ) so I'm not sure about their quality. I can told when postman will come to me.

So, started Azur Lane. Casually.

 

Feels like Kancolle met Touhou and was toned down to be a mobile game. Gameplay is kinda fun (I can do stuff!) though I have no clue what ships to even use for what. So far, I get more results out of DD escorts than CAs, making me wonder what the CAs are for. AA (the one thing where they do really good)?

 

Also got the Leander I came for, so I guess I have achieved my objective. Also got Ajax and Edinburgh. They say Belfast is known for the doujins, but looking at Ajax' top comments...

You can just use them along with 1 or 2 DD`s. CL and CA have more Firepower and more armor than DD`s, but less speed and the Torpedo need more Time to reload.

 

To Belfast: basically everyone have her, and everyone married her (except for me), and like you said; really popular for her doujins, and "special" doujins.

But why would I use DDs with my CAs, if the CAs just slow them down anyway, negating a key advantage. Also, most DDs that buff other ships buff DDs, while cruisers buff cruisers. e.g. currently running a Leander/Ajax/Karlsruhe combo, as Leander buffs all cruisers' damage, Karlsruhe buffs all cruisers' reload and Ajax is just there for the damage.

 

And as I write this I get Unicorn, so, Karlsruhe gets retired for a different CL, cause buffs don't stack. Edinburgh. Maybe I find a better buff cruiser down the line.

Thanks. I saw that list, though my issue is that it doesn't explain synergy or what to use as ships when you start out and almost have nothing. For example, Repulse is pretty low there, but she's been one of my few heavy ships, so I had to use her. and even if certain ships are "best at what they do"... what is it they do?

You dont need to worry much about the fleet synergy at the beginning. Just slap any ship you want at the beginning. I even use just R ship in World 6. Synergy is much more useful for the PvP rather than PvE.

Well, with only so many spots in the fleet and limited resources to level, I need to consider what I run for later too. Btw, is it worthwhile using those Bulins for Hood and such? Or is that a waste?

The resources is plenty if you grind it. It will come later, although it good thing to saves up the gold one for later when you get more SSR. Bullins on their own is useless, if you find someone max level and ringed them, it probably for memes. So yeah just use the Bullins. 

 

You can use this guide but I not sure if you can lvl up without LB the ships?

That list is not for starters, it's just a suggestion that when you got high tier girls in that list, you can level up them first.

QE is the core of RN combo, Hood as flagship because of her skill 3rd place of main fleet is flexible. Use CLs or DDs in scout fleet, RN CAs are not good.

Yeah, don't have QE though. Mostly using RN, because Leander-class are solid CLs and Unicorn buffs the escort fleet. Guess I'll spam heavy ship construction for QE.
