König Albert not to be for sale on the EU, only as a reward/prize-ship. It was meant to be like that from day 1?

Yesterday the "bomb" dropped via a post on the German facebookpost that the König Albert, will not become available for sale (not in the Premium-Shop, not in the Techtree) for the EU community. In the meantime it's been on sale for over a month without interruption on the NA-server for 2200D/10.76€. Quite rightly so that the NA community is laughing way too hard at this skewed thought train from the EU. But a post by European Community Contributer Flamu is what really astonished me:

m71uQtT.png

The König Albert was released on the NA in the first days of September. At the Gamescom-Q&A, which happened 2 weeks before that, there was a Q&A from Shipcomrade with Jacek Pudlik, Associate Publishing Producer for Wargaming. In that he said this:

While launch dates for new ships are not synchronized (across the servers), the idea is to have them happening within 9 days of one another.

So it took WG-EU just 14 days to make a turn of 180° (or was just lying, because the NDA of the König Albert-footage was lifted on August 27th, that means that the footage was made around the weekend of Gamescom, thus the NA CC's had access to that ship while in the same period the EU CC's didn't).

Normally the König Albert would appear between September 9th & 13th on the EU (if you use the NA-release date), that did not happen. It did take a whole month of absolute radio silence (except from a deeply buried video-Q&A with iEarlGrey in which MrConway said "we don't know what to do with it, and we'll keep it aside until we do") until someone figured out via a local Facebook post that it would never come at all.

On that "we don't know what to do with it"... If you don't let your EU Community Contributers even testdrive the ship and make a (p)review of it like their American counterparts, that means that you damn well knew what the plan for it was, from the beginning.
Wargaming EU... I though I saw it all with you, but you never cease to amaze me! :sceptic:

EDIT: Statement from Ph3lan: it will come later in 2016

Yes, they were lying from the start.

As i mentioned in another thread, they didn't reply to forum posts or did any info on the front page to avoid a shitstorm over it.

Any form of "official reaction" with the truth would have stired crapup.

Another [edited]you EU players from WG, but by now it shouldn't come as a surprise anymore. And by having the community split in smaller "regions", they can avoid big massive shitstorms.

And things wont change unless players unite despite all toxiticy among each other and give WG the finger back.

I agree totally with WG-EU that this ship should not be available for purchase. Certainly at the moment there are just too much BB's in game. It makes no sense to release another premium BB at the moment.

If you look at the warships.today and look at the statistics you can clearly see that the ship is OP. We don't need another OP batleship on low tier. The Nicolai is already a sealclub machine on tier 4, to have a another sealclub BB at tier 3 makes no sense at all.

WHy Why Why? Yea, It's OP, but so is Nassau too. So the fear of sealclubbing does not make too much sense then, plus I think there is an anti-sealclubbing MM in place already. I really hope they come out with a mission for Albert soon, but given the fiasco of the GNB, I doubt that too. OTOH, Albert would be a tremendously nice Xmas present!

Nassau can be nerfed. WG doesn't nerf a premium ship directly. They rather don't sell it anymore. Look at the Nicolai that ship will not be sold anymore. So there are a few players who have this ships while it is almost imposible for other players to have it. In a way that isn't fair.

And US had not enough BBs in game? :sceptic:

I don't care at NA at all. I don't play on NA server. NA business is NA business and has nothing to do with EU business.

I think we can consider NA as a rogue server that simply does not follow orders from Kiew / Nicosia.

The EU rage intensifies...

:B

Seriously tho, it's just a silly T3 BB. Look  at it in an unlocked port. Spend your money on nice food or something as WG clearly doesn't want your coin!

Since the ship wasn't even released on EU-Server, why WG isn't balancing it again and selling it as a T IV BB on EU/SEA Server and only for those. Just make it impossible to use it on cross server matches. Not to bring it at all, while they could and most likely would sell it in quite some numbers, is one of the worst economical decisions for a capitalistic enterprise.

Well I certainly don't want to see a Mikasa 2.0.

Do we use the same language? I wrote balancing, not nerfing.

And btw in the german facebook post WG replied with a: "currently" not for sale. So there is a chance they might do more or less as i mentioned.

When i first took notice of the KA i was wondering why they would bring an original Kaiser class BB as a T III premium.

I should put a sad panda image in my signature.

I don't mind not getting this ship. It's just a ship. I do, however, mind the way WG EU is dealing with this issue and with its player base. It's like they give zero defecations about us. That hurts a lot, and from a company's point of view, it's not a good idea to piss off the people who give you money.

Their communication atm is at the bottom of the sea. They didn't even had the time to update the event calender for octiober.. it's just 5 days into october already.. we don't know anything about any events this month at all and i guess that we won't even get the chance to get ARP Takao like NA, RU and ASIA...

But they are improving their communication right?

It's more the case of Kawachi and South Carolina being terribly UP rather than KA being OP. Although not surprising, WG don't give a crap considering they absolutely messed the MIkasa and despite numerous feedback aren't even considering doing something with it, beside selling it to us, of course.

How do you balance an "OP" ship without nerfing it? Change of "meta"? Buffing everything else?

In Albert's case, give it +2 MM and call it a day.

Everything would be so much easier if they actually just nerfed OP premiums.

But as long as that doesn't happen, simply not selling them is the best possible band-aid solution.

For T IV the KA can already be considered competitive in many stats (armor for example), but some stats need to be changed. The range of main guns is to short for T IV that will go against T V. Also the turning circle and rudder shift time have to make up for the lack of AA defense, to give the opportunity to dodge torps (not totally, but slightly better than on Kaiser). On the other hand, the shell velocity needs to be reduced and the turret traverse speed must be lower than on Kaiser. So there isn't a nerfing or buffing in general. Just a balancing to fit into T IV BB's.
