Suggestion On new nation "flavor"

As you are all aware, different nations seem to have their own unique flavor.

 

I.E

:Stealth on certain IJN lines,

 Flatter firing arcs on RU Lines,

 Better AA on US lines.

 

These are not for all ships of those nations but more of a generalization of certain lines... 

 

I was thinking it would be interesting to give some of the newer lines there own unique abilities, as I feel that the flavors could run out. 

 

I.E. it is going to be hard to do something new with CL after the RN line ( what every that is ) as WG are wanting to move away from smoke and HE spam.

 

As it is in essence a game based (loosely) on History.

 

How about giving the new french line the white flag consumable. When activated, the ship could surrender with out loosing credits. Obviously this could only be used near the end of the  round. When the oods looked hopeless. Not just a Miss Match.

 

The other one I felt could be interesting would be for the Italian. Hang the captain / or make him walk the plank Consumable. When activated the ship could swap sides. This would have to be at the end of the round for the same reasons as above.

 

I think that these additions to the game would certainly make it feel a bit more historic. As we know Its what its all about. I have learnt so much about the powerful RU already.

To be fair these threads have no reason to be on gameplay and should be in off-topic in the first place.

 

1000,s of people died from those examples. I'm not sure if that is taking it a bit too for for those poor Brits. 

 

And you are casually reducting history for comedic value by playing up national stereotypes.

French occupation had cost hundreds of thousands of lives as well, not to mention the lives lost in WW1 where their contributions are completely overlooked in this case. 

Same goes for the Italians.

People like admiral Campioni, admiral Mascherpa, and many others got executed by the Germans/Mussolini supporters because they didn't see the fascist Italian Social Republic as the legitimate government. 4000 Italian PoWs (taken in the same campaign in which Campioni got captured) in German custody alone died when a prisoner transport sunk. Double standards much?

 

And if people are going to blame ignorance of these fronts than that points to the problem that I have in general with those jokes. Sure they might not be meant to be taken so seriously but the unthinking usage of them that has spread into pop-culture leads to massively skewed perspectives on history. British dead are placed on a pedestal where they should be treated completely differently whereas the Italians and French were not the ones involved in the biggest battles (at least in WW2) and therefore it's a-okay to just spew nonsense about them.

It's not, because I don't approve of anything like that, aimed at anyone. But it's normal that you tried to imply I was ok with that.

Also, FYI meatballs are largely an American addition to pasta, they are rarely used that way in Italy, and only in some places.

At the end of the day The French did surrender in the war and the Italians did change side . My whole point form the very start was to represent this in game. I thought a " Historynerd" would have known that.
