[SICK] Exocet6951 Weekend Tester 5,151 posts 11,809 battles Report post #27 Posted October 15, 2016 As long as you have a healthy amount of games and a diverse amount of different ships, WR is a very powerful indicator. So no, a player's WR with 400 battles mostly in a Gremy and Blyska is not relevant. But a player with 4k battles having grinded a few lines? That number is very telling. Anyone who disagrees is generally either someone with sub-50% WR, or someone with 57-59% who can't reach up to +60%.

People who care about stats - Not very nice people, act like [edited]on the forum, spend most of their games raging in chat or screaming at the screen at home. Try not to worry too much about statistics, try and find which class you have the most fun in and then just keep doing that

I'm very relaxed when playing, don't rage or insult people if we lose. I'm slightly disappointed of course, but I play another battle and have fun. I have found the most insulting people are the ones carrying a chip on their shoulder because they tried their best to play the game, then churned out the Cliche of 'just playing for fun', when they realised they were not very good after all. [MIRAI] _cosmo Players 591 posts 7,809 battles Report post #31 Posted October 16, 2016 just a few thoughts ... might work for you, they mostly do for me if you are playing a lot and get into a losing streak ... STOP! You'd be surprised how long these things can go it you try to push through. frustration builds and you start making bad decisions. lose 2 or 3 in a row ... play another game, watch tv, read a book (on naval warfare! ;o) [...] Nah, just keep playing and call everyone on your team noobs and the enemies that land a shot cheaters!! It must work, everybody's doing it!!
Palmyrene Players 9 posts 4,450 battles Report post #32 Posted November 30, 2016 I typically play PVE as a way of relaxing after work. However, I am interested in improving my game so have started reading the forum and came across the stats sites as a result. I have very few PVP battles so far (only 67), so I doubt the stats are all that useful so far for me (plus I'm rubbish anyway). I see that WoWS Stats and Numbers and Warships Today sites calculate their Personal Rating or WTR typically based on damage done, kills and win rate. They don't seem to take into account contributions from spotting, damage done on your spotting, potential damage received etc., so maybe they don't give a full picture of how useful you are to your team. I guess win rate maybe takes that into account - if you are more useful to your team in other ways (as well as pure damage/Kills), maybe your team is more likely to win. I tend to play all of the ships in my port at least once a night on PVE, but tend to stick to destroyers in PVP when I do decide to brave Random battles (finding a bit of a leap from T4 to T5). I wonder whether focussing on one or two ships (or lines) is better though. I have found that the stats are interesting, and I look forward to seeing how they change over time, but I won't get too fixated on it until I have a few hundred PVP battles under my belt. If you do useful things for the team it will in the long run reflect in the win rate, regardless of WOWs and WTR. I studied your results in your 67 game in random and that they are spread out so I suppose you play a lot against bots. Your progression will go better in Random - more XP and credits etc so I recommend you to play that. But the average damage is low so I suppose you will get low WTR and WOWS for that reason as you have posted, I have that problem also on some ships. Anway your stats will improve a lot with fully kitted ships and with better captains so do not race too fast. T5 is as you say a big leap as you often face T7 which in some cases make it really difficult even for experienced players. Some ships bear T7 better than others. T4 faces max T5. I have played a lot more than you and when I have reached 11-14 lvl captains f.e. the results in that ship often improves a lot, AFT f.e.. I Think that a combination of grinding several lines (for knowledge of opponents also) and some spezialisation is probably best but it is also what is your goal with the game? I am a collector so I play all ships, I know that my stats will suffer. Recently I have started a more dedicated DD effort and have played and grinded Mutsuiki/Hatsuharu/Fubuki in the IJN DD line and while I am at best only an average player I saw a definitive improvment in stats as the feeling for the torpedoes f.e. was much better and a better general feel for manouvering with the ship and its capabilities were remembered between the games. It is only 60-70 games so maybe one can doubt its value but it felt better during gameplay also. If the results earlier where generally below average in DDs at least it went up to average or slightly above and win rate and the survival rate went up also. It is not only the own familiarity with the ship that is better with a little concentration it is also that the biggest threats to you is the same ships in this IJN case often enemy DDs especially US RU and Blys. These I avoided and retreated from directly so it benefits also your results. But I Think that it is always good to climb all trees and then see what suits you best and what is more fun. I grind all lines except CVs at least to mid tiers. But I am a nerd regarding warships and enthusiast of warship history so for me spreading out play is my thing. If random battles turn out to be too hard maybe jump into them at a lower tier. Your enemies at tier 5+ have lots of experience in randoms while those at tier 2/3 are just as new to the game as you are. Good luck and have fun!
