This year will see another major rework of the captain skill tree, and an early version of clan functionality.

 

What do you guys think about this one above?

 

Are there any clues what they intend to change / rework this time?

Hard to say, but I wouldn't mind them taking out the stinkers nobody in their right mind takes anyway (the crappy -7% fire chance skill, Expert Loader, Dogfighting Expert (which sucks for anything but tier 7s because Saipan)) and replacing them with something actually desirable.

Agree, some of the skills deffinetly need a rework.

I heard that they plan to cap the maximum points per skill at four, that is no five or higher points skills, and to expand the variety of the level one to four skills. This does not mean that all current level five skills will disappear. They will probably become level four skills.

I'm not sure I like this, to be honest. It's not easy to train a 15 point captain and I feel players really ought to work for those top-of-the-line skills. If this is true, a 10 point captain (very easily obtainable with minimum grind) will have access to every skill. I admit I'm a bit selfish here: I want my 15 pt DD captain to have relatively few counterparts with comparable detection. I worked through hundreds of matches in a single ship line to get there. Now, concealment build will be available to every mid-tier captain.

I think it's quite interesting and opens up a lot of possibilities;

 

Mid tiers suddenly get access to top skills which open up lots of possibilities for ships tier 5-7 which won't normally have concealment/joat/manual secondaries etc. This makes for different builds.

 

You can now take two tier 4 skills in addition to CE. So you can now have AfT and DE as well as CE

 

You can now take two (or 3) skills that were previously limited to one. Which means you can have CE and JOAT

As nice as this sounds i must admit i am not feeling very confident this will all be changes that i am going to like.

Cant explain why just feel that its going to be nerfs to some of the most useful skills.

Yes this is how the game gets balanced lately. Instead of making the weak stuff stronger to be on par with the rest, the strong stuff gets nerfed to the ground until everything becomes weak :sceptic:

 

But let's wait and see. It surely sounds promising, and I really hope they make it right. There are a lot of good possibilities there, but I'm just afraid they will screw up :(

If it is a huge stunt like Babykim suggested they have to do a skillreset again..... >_>

I don't think they will be that willing to do so tho.

Or they redo their genius "100 Gold Magic" from the SA removal.

You think so? I think it should be something to strive for to know if you are spotted or not. I remember the good old days when players didn't use that Cpt. point.  :child:

The only change I'd like to see is from CV's perspective. Unless you are training an 18pt captain for Hiryu for the example, there is no useful way of spending all 18 points any more. CV captains top at 17.

 

As long as they don't change anything drastically and give full reset, I'm fine with the change.

All i currently know is that the majority of my ship classes all share the same build and the majority of skills are crap.

 

Hope i get some choice and that most skills are useful on the majority of ship classes, i do not mind some skills which are useful for certain classes or apply only to a certain ship even like HMS Campbeltown get s a unique skill for ramming things.

I actually like that idea. But they better be planning the skill reset with that change.

Screw that rework, we already know how it will go down anyways(sucks for people with lots of ships ... 28 ships to reskill take a while) ...
