Hello all, I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this so apologies if this is the wrong place, but I'm new to the forums, anyways, I digress, onto the issues I am having, what is happening is I'm getting about 15-25 FPS at the very most, ALL settings are on the lowest they can go to, no AA shadow details off and what have you, my laptop gets better framerates at the same settings and that's just a second gen i5 with the standard iGPU so that should put it into perspective, this is a relatively new system for me, only had it for the best part of two weeks at this point (and most of that was waiting for a few parts) and my previous system ran it fine and that had even less powerful CPUs in it, the specs on my system itself are a pair of xeon X5365 (3GHz quad cores) 32gb ram, HD7950 3gb for GPU along with a secondary nvidia GT710 (confirmed that's not causing the issue by uninstalling the card and the drivers before playing again) temps are fine throughout the game with the cpu's maxing out at 45 degrees ish and the GPU's don't go above 64 degrees at most, my intel HD 3000 equipped toshiba sattelite Z830-10U beats my desktop at the same settings which it should not be doing at all, if anyone has any other suggestions as to what could be causing this that'd be great, many thanks in advance.

Quick check. Are you sure the game is using your graphics card and not the in built one by mistake?

the system doesn't have an intergrated GPU, the only GPUs in the system are my 7950 and my GT710 but i have removed the 710 along with it's drivers and still had the same issue

Hi all,

Can you try "MSI Afterburner" to check the CPU & GPU while in play?

https://gaming.msi.com/features/afterburner

the cpu does get relatively high usage wise like 70-80% (i keep task manager CPU tab open and i have open hardware monitor for the gpu load and temps) and the gpu utilisation only goes as high as 64%, i know that it's not a bottleneck though as someone i know personally has this same config with a 980 and has no issues so it won't be a gpu/cpu bottleneck either, im a little stumped really, these cpu's are more powerful than my old ones in both single and multi core performance yet im getting the bad framerates and i've tried a fair few things so far (such as closing things down to save on cpu/gpu usage, taking out the GT710 entirely along with it's drivers etc etc but no luck)

You have 6 monitors that's right? so i'm guessing that your not on 1080P screen resolution, right? Do you think that a HD7950 can provide enought power for 6 screens?

Do you know what's 4K? it's 2*2 screens of 1080p and when you see test, only new CG (like the GTX 1070) can support 4K at 60fps so your 6 screens with you old CG (2012) can't do the job. Sure your laptop gonna kick your xeon comp cause he have to calcule only 1 screen.

i am running 6 screens, 3 at 1080P and 3 at 1440x900, the 7950 handles the 3 1080p displays and the GT710 handles the 3 1440x900 displays, though if i did just have the 7950 i could have used a displayport hub to get an additional 3 display outputs (a 4 port displayport hub, whilst expensive, would work fine and give me 3 additional outputs)

the gpu only really has to push pixels on the display that's doing the most, the rest take up a minute amount of gpu power and would otherwise be unnoticeable, i've been using 3 and 4 displays on this card in my old rig and it played it fine at max settings even with the 4 displays running off it, now it's only running 3 displays but im getting worse performance, so the gpu isn't the issue here and i have tried other gpu's with no luck

Hi all,

How is your GPU usage (via "MSI Afterburner")?

That is much more interesting than CPU...

BTW, do you have some special custom "AntiAliasing" enabled?

GPU usage doesn't go above 64% but then it didn't go above that really when i had my old system which got a steady 55-60 FPS at the same usage on medium settings, temps stay around 64 degrees

as for AA and what have you, these frame rate numbers are obtained with everything set to low and everything that can be turned off, set to off including AA, all of that is off completely

Use GPU-Z and look a the Perfcap field (https://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/) and see what it says and what colour(s) you get during game play.

already have the latest version of gpu-z, fresh install of windows a few days ago so all new stuff for gpuz, i don't get any perfcap though, it shows for my GT710 but not for my 7950 so i'd assume it's an nvidia only thing, my main gpu is an amd radeon HD7950, not showing up at all for that.

OK.

As for "AntiAliasing" I thought about native GPU one (i.e. you can force AA via settings of your graphics card) and not the in-game setting...

yeah, that is one way of going about it, but i have the driver set to not touch the settings just as that normally tends to cause problems in my experience

It showed for my HD 7970 so it should show for you, which makes me wonder if your 7950 is the card it really uses.

it is the card it's using, since it displays on my main display, which is plugged into the 7950, there isn't really any way for the other gpu to be used to render frames other than using something like crossfire which will obviously not workdue to being an nvidia card and an amd one, that and if that were somehow the case i'd get the performance bump back to playable levels when i removed the GT710 anyways, which didn't happen

Have you tried downgrading drivers? Go back lets say one year and work your way forward, or backwards if still the same.

that is one of the first things i had tried, drivers are normally the issue with such things but it doesn't appear to be the case, i used the last known working driver for this game which is the one i used for my last pc and it made no difference unfortunately

Once, in another game, I had to revert to drivers prior to the ones that used to work. Ah well. Out of ideas atm.

Hi all,

Can you try TEST setup with just 1 (one) connected monitor and try it that way?

tried on some older drivers and no improvement, im stumped also here.

i have tested with a single monitor after seeing your post here on my phone (not signed in on my phone so i couldn't let you know i was going to try it) but it made no noticeable difference, the actual framerate counter showed at most a 2FPS improvement but then dips back down to roughly where it was with all 6, so i'd say that's within margin of error really

right, i had another game and had a proper look at the settings, i have looked at the settings im using and the load numbers that im getting with these numbers, i will add i was getting about 20 frames throughout the entire game and at most 30FPS in the menus so im not sure where the issue is really but i hope these help:

settings: everything set to lowest of off (where off was an option) and AA was a X2

CPUs were pinned at 100% for this game it would seem and temps on the CPU was no higher than 63 degrees C on the hottest core of the 8 of them, ram didn't touch more than 5GB usage in game, GPU temps went no higher than 65 degrees C and the GPU usage was no higher than 68% with it's stock clockspeed of 800MHz core and 1250MHz memory clock as for the CPUs which were at their stock clock of 3GHz also

edit: forgot to add settings derp

right, my gpu might actually be on it's way out, ill go for broke and reinstall windows, if that doesn't hold any results ill just go with my gpu being the issue here, which is entirely possible, hopefully not, but we'll see

Pretty Simple Answer..

VSync + Trippe Buffering.. No Frame Drops..

If you have Problems with that.. than Driver Problem.. or Driver Settings which must be sorted out Manually.

Sincerly

Veni

i will give this a go, though we've already ruled out driver issues and settings so im not sure what the problem could be if this doesn't do so much.
