The game needed some incentive to play the carrier class. I am sure all agree that having a carrier in each team makes the battle more fun. I had very enjoyable games to get the mission, as well as playing my other ships afterwards for the AA lulz (because, you know, AA is balanced).

This should be done more often.

All I've encountered were AFK and suicide-rushing carriers, who then let it to the team to win the match for them.

Carier tiers can be cut to tier 7, 1 cv per team is crap, there were no cvs as a whole in the game, and then you could meet 2 and the game turns into chaos, bringing some fun to the table. But no, camping BB sayd they disturb their camping and needed to be limited. Now i dont even know why i have a tier 10 cv, wait time is over 10 min, and i just quit. 

Want the long removed possibility of 2 cvs vs none, but since that time teamwork is dead, i guess it will never be as fun as in closed beta. In this regard low/mid tiers are more interesting as cvs still exist there and the def aa isnt installed on dds as on high tiers.

It was a very enjoyable 2 days playing carrier:

Friday: 8 wins out of 9 battles

Saturday: 6 wins out of 27 battles.

 

Once again Wargaming rigs the matchmaker according to how the player performed the day before so I expect to have a good day on Sunday.

 

I can't decribe how sick and tired I am of WG's matchfixing, noob bonus and catering to stupid but it is close to wanting to go out and murder some random people.

I reckon if theres no CVs for a team, give us a bot, the game is much more dynamic with a cv, a lot more team play is needed and a lot less lone wolf goes on

I played 10 Langley games for that mission... ;)

 

I saw you today in my new Hiei I forgot to put prem consumables on. Then I got detonated by the first thing to touch me without using them anyway.

Also happened to find a Langley player called TriggerHappy_EU. Funny to run into this guy in that ship but only find you playing Hiryu instead.

how about this:

We tell the CV (fast Independence) to move his [edited]since we wont be covering his side. He doesnt move.

The cv scouts and SEES 4 ships incoming including a fast dd. still doesnt move. - get ofc the whole matter pointed out to him over and over.

Suicides his planes all game long into the enemy cv.

Doesnt even try to slow the enemy on his side down, flys rather the longest route possible diagonal over the whole map to strike targets "spotted" by others (!).

Flees screaming for help when the enemy "suddenly" appears.

Is still to stupid to spot the dd and his torps when given instrucitions like: put your planes here + ping on the map.

I mean its me rushing back to try to save his stupid [edited]. I totally can shoot the IJN dd up after he died, np with that - would be even saver since the dd then just used his torps.

So when the division with basically all of the kills tells you to put your planes somewhere, because you are to stupid to find the speed throttle AND the minimap for the first 8 minutes of the game despite written instructions and you now try to run screaming like a little girl yelling for help, because its your [edited]that is about to get raped ..... then you fu<king do that.

 

Or how about this:

told to move - airfield.

already spotted dd comes - "surprise".

doesnt even try to stike the dd.

is told that torps are likely comming  and even the direction to evade - doesnt do crap.

omg torps - tries to evade now .....

 

second cv watches the carnage - still doesnt attack the dd ... slows down to standstill in a bogue right next to the dd .....

 

 

You can even play "their" game as well as yours, but people are unable to follow the simplest of instructions like: "torps, turn hard left now!" or "strike on you incomming, get moving" .... "MOVE, because the enemy dd is 3 minutes from shooting you up without you having any help in range". for the usual mix of cowardish morons they sure lack self preservation in cvs.

 

best games are thus were the enemy has 2 cvs and your team "none".

 

 

And this not moving after being told in chat but then spamming the same chat for help when a DD suddenly appears should warrant a achievement on its own: Name: Airfield. Conditions: 100 % dense concrete, 0 % teamplay or brainactivity. 100 % screaming for help that is half a map length away. NOT restricted to any tier (sadly). 

 

 

 

With the mission running there should be a reward for tking your cv - like the golden trashcan, for clearing the filth. I mean your team still looses the pts for loosing the ship, but the enemy team doesnt get any for sinking a ship. In that regard you totally shouldnt get punished for actually playing for victory ....... :trollface:

I know the AA thing was sarcasm, but not so sure about the rest?

 

I think such events are horrible "fix our CV play rates without actually fixing the class" schemes by WG. Why promote a class noone wants to play? It's not like the class is actually great and fun and people just need a push. No it's no fun to play, your counters are not outplayable and overpowered. You just wait to abuse the idiocy of some people - amazing gameplay!

 

But well, they have their magic 7% CV play rate - due to an event like this. And once the event is over and playrate drops back to 3% they just make another with even more rewards.

 

There is too many lemmings who play anything if the rewards are right, because - you know, having fun is irrelevant in a game, when you can get flags and credits. Not convinced? Just read above how horrible some CVs perform - clearly those must have lots of fun playing the class if they charge forward and die instantly.

No joke. I have a couple of AA speced captains that simply obliterate squads.

WG intends to keep nerfing the carrier class. Plane kills will be more rewarding, while doing damage to ships will be less so. New ship lines will have better AA, fighters may get more buffs, etc.

Carriers should be in every game. The reasons for this have been listed in several threads already.

for all i care they can remove them alltogether until they get a MM system going that matches players of equal skill.

kinda hate having my games outcome predetermined based on the fact wether the CV is a complete tool or not(which they most of the time are).

We can do that once they are balanced enough that having one carrier less isnt a crippling disadvantage.

 

We will need some more AA buffs for that tough. :trollface:

Can't be helped that half the player base can't tell their ship's bow from the stern. Buffing the AA has just made carriers more imbalanced, but people don't pay attention to history.

The difference is that when MM decids to put idiots in all the other classes on your side its hard but to variable degrees but a lot more  manageable than CVs imbalance.

 

Try THAT when the enemy would get again 2 CVs against a lone CV on your side. You just gotte compensate by superior play? Suuuuuuuuuuuure. Then its no problem if we go back to unmirrored MM as well. T8 CV vs T 10 CV. All you need to do is to outplay him. :teethhappy:

 

 

Not even the CV players  are (usually) bold enough to suggest their class is balanced enough to allow a completely unregulated MM of their class

Yet supposedly its of no issue if there isnt a single cruiser with defensive fire or any AA capability whatsoever on your team.  Go figure.

 

 

Thing is: A well played CV can have a strong influence even in a -2 bottom tier environment - and is usually OP against even tiered enemies let alone being higher tier.

Its actually a joy seeing a skilled cv player (or at least one having a good game in this case ^^) overcome the drawback of being bottom tier. On the other side I can tell you that the enemy CV thought he could drop on 2 T 8 battleships escorted by 2 cruisers ..... Yeah I know its a CV dream, and only then "aa is properly balanced" but I am glad WG changed that; when I think of the fiasko that was OBT CV- and AA-Balancing. :facepalm:

No, CVs just creates even more lemming trains and ships driving around in circules around their spawnpoint so being sure not to be left alone without supportive AA from other ships.
