Hello!

We will not be extending the discount. But before you try to throw me burning disapproval, a change we will make - it will be economically better to farm with the introduction of containers, which we have recently shown at gamescom. They will earn more credits per session for all players.

If these measures are not sufficient for a comfortable game on the top with premium, we will consider options to reduce the cost of repairs for the permanent.

So a random chance to not lose money is now better than knowing you probably won't lose money on a decent game according to Lesta.

B-B-B-But you can decide if you want Signal Flags instead of Credits too! Or you can try your luck in getting a premium! This is much better! /s

Why couldn't you put this into to the 'Some interesting info from the RU' thread like everyone else ? :hmm:

Considering that I know nothing og the loot box as nothing has really been revealed, I will withhold my judgment.

I would however have liked maybe a 10% reduction in repair cost at tier 9 and 10 at the very least.

Well. I'll just wait and see. For now I've lost interest in IX-X anyway. Getting punished for playing my role to my best abilities has demotivated me completely. Every now and then I give it a shot but same story. Don't inflict a lot of damage but still trying my best. "that'll be 200k" I'm a bit curious of the development of "tank/ scout" xp/ credit rewards. I fully understand I won't be given 100k for spotting a BB. Yesterday f.e. I kept 3 BB's busy in a T 6 match in my DD (Really: I pushed them to the upper right corner of the map). Had 1 cap and 1 lucky torp hit. Keeping those BB's busy. Got some punches in return. Yielded me app 15k credits. Not saying I played the decisive factor but did my job. Should I have let them go and rush into the main fight? They'd turn back and could easily topple the balance. THis is IMO a decent reward for a decent match. Nothing too spectacular but neither was my performance. In the high tier that would have cost me at least 75k. No I'm done with that but will keep following the progress. Cause I'd love to play those tiers as well and have some fun out of that.

I do not see how random rewards should be better than lower repair costs.

Maybe they think we are all gamblers?

That depends on how the rewards are. If there is a high loot floor, then perhaps.

Essentially, until we know more about how the containers work and what they contain (hah) I think we should be guarded about the prospect, either way.

I'm poor (< 5m) from buying to many ships lately, guess I won't be sailing my new shiny gearing a lot in the foreseeable future. Oh well, guess I have to torp more german battleboats with the benson and fletcher to make moneyz for the upcoming british cruisers. :)

That's complete nonsense. They said same thing over year ago when zulu flag was supposed to fix economy problems. Well, it didn't. Boxes won't fix it too.

I once suggested some kind of "cycling" of rewards, such as a "free" repair once every few games or every hour, even RNG looting. Probably others have done the same, and it seems like it was considered plausible. However, I personally regret that I had supported such an idea, as I do not think RNG-based rewards is a respectable mechanic, but I had not the time or attention to repost something on this change of mind. I am personally against introducing such a degrading, clumsy, shallow mechanic. I am worried it will harm WoWs' image, as it has done to Steel Ocean and some other badly designed F2P P2W.

This is ridiculous.

An RNG chance to maybe not lose lots of money when playing t9 or t10 and losing?

Glad I never gave them money for prem time in WoWS.

Here you have it in black and white. Top is supposed to be comfortable with premium. Discussions about "t10 repairs too high" can be closed.

In the meantime we can teach everyone how to park their T9 BB behind an island and peek-a-boo for 20 minutes straight.

That's more or less how i view this too. The boxes automatically invite images of lots of games which abuse this system to squeeze the money from players with poor selfcontrol. And no wonder, because in its core this system is pure gambling with all its effects.

Now, because we don't know basically nothing about WoWs boxes, i can't say they will be the worst possible version. I expect them to be closer to AW boxes, which isn't actually that bad, as AW boxes are nice, albeit minor bonus. But the mere presence of boxes, even if they will be totally clean and harmless bonus will invoke the bad images of those more abusive versions. And God forbit they would actually sell them for cash or doubloons, because then they would basically BE the abusive version.

All that aside though, this thread is not about the boxes per se. It's abut the ridiculous proposition that "degrading, clumsy, shallow mechnic", that could be seriously abusive if handled wrong or treated as income source, can be reliable fix to long standing problem with core and basic game economy defect! No, it can't, ever. At most it could be the nice bonus. Way better, even if not entirely solving solution was already tested on the live servers, and it worked. Only to be discarded now...

Considering the teams I get,  it s already a gamble.

So will there be 'power up' type boxes floating around randomly in the game?

Lets hope it doesn't turn the players into scavengers :teethhappy: Totally ignoring the objective and just hooning around looking for loot :D

The way some play these days you would already think hidden loot is in random corners of the map...

Reminds me of when I was watching my mate play the game, before I actually started myself.

At the start of the match, He typed to 'ALL', "Bonus code visible at H5 - 500 doubloons, 1 port slot, 3 days of premium" :teethhappy:

Half the enemy team and several ally ships all raced to the island at that point :great:

I do like the idea iku_19 posted on reddit:

...

This is an active approach, it means that with increased credit gain people still have to be active if not more than formerly. However with reduced repair costs players can become more passive which is something the developers haven't shown keen interest in.

...

 Source:

So basically we don't know much about the loot boxes. Say from the three boxes one can earn during one day, you can earn either signals, or camouflages or premium consumables. And iirc you may also be able to gain credits (

).

If these boxes are somehow tied to XP and credits earned and in the future you can earn XP and/or credits from spotting and possibly tanking the loot box approach could give players the chance to earn more credits during a game. So instead of keeping the credit income fixed with reduced repair costs, they try to increase the crdit gain with fixed repair costs.

Do you think this could be a right approach for fixing high tier economy?

Greetings
