See I really like the Cyclones. Changes a battle completely and has saved me more than once!

I would like to see more effects when one rolls in though. Just seems to go a little cloudy and rains. Maybe have wind playing a bigger part, increased wave sizes.

I really like the Cyclone effect, but making them to predictable, especially the end of them will remove the fun factor and the benifits to the game.

Oh and im NOT a supertester in any way i am on the EU server..just saying

I´ve lost more battles due to it then gained anything in return by adding cyclones. However if WG would add an icon on the mini map showing the location of the cyclone and its range would help considerably the players!!!

Wrong.

I for one like cyclones a lot and am looking forward to many more use of weather in future iterations.

Even though I consider cyclones a terrible feature and will continue to dislike it, the added predictability of it is definitely appreciated. One thing I've noticed though is that now it isn't possible anymore to see over the whole map during a cyclone as a spectator, is this a bug or intended this way?

To be honest, I find this new notification a bit ridiculous. I know all the crap about "this game is not a simulation", but captains were not notified about storms coming with a cute emoji on their gps, they had to look outside, gather infos ,take decisions ... If a player can't think by himself to check what's going on outside of where he's aiming, then he's a bad player, and his life shouldn't be easier.

My feelings exactly.

I've read a lot of supportive comments about cyclones on the forum in recent months, but even those who like the feature wanted better notification.

I like the way that cyclones are introduced on the PT server - your team get plenty of time to prepare themselves (that's if they want to of course) :)

The icon is good i like it, but its doesnt tell you when you lose sight like the count down gets to 0 the icon says Cyclone, but you still have full vision so maybe another icon with a Eye crossed out to show vision reduced. Also i want more waves hitting the sides beating the ship for visual effect.

I don't get it, I'm happy that Wargaming is trying to implement new modes and changes to the general gameplay. On one side people complain about a lack of realism on ship models or something else or how boring matches have become and then they complain again, if Wargaming actually is trying to change something or make battles more interesting again.

What do you guys want? Ocean map with flat water and no weather?

On Topic:

While the icon and countdown is "ok", I would prefer a voice over from the captain. Maybe 1-3 warnings about the upcoming storm. That would also remove the complains about the "not realistic" weather icon and "gps". Though it would be more work for Wargaming, as they would need to record some new lines in different languages. Still I would strongly prefer that option.

There is a bug with cyclones. (German) secondaries (10,6km range) will fire on enemy ships out of sight when previously selected as priority target (manual control skill) when ship is out of visual range (8km).

I was in GK lighting up an enemy GK at 8-10km range when the cyclone hit and I lost visual contact but my secondaries kept firing.

Don't know if secondaries fire on undetected (but within secondary range) ships without manual control as well.

Simulation or not cyclones done generally appear out of thin air. You would get a warning. Clouds building etc. I mean we have the shipping forecast and modern meteorology because of naval travel. Even by WW1 captains would have a weather forecast. Sure they might not know just how bad it would get but a warning within the timescale of a wows battle, even compressed time wise, is appropriate.

I got used to spotting cyclones right from the match start though so the warning isn't required for me.

I like the timer you'll know exactly when a cyclon strikes. But it would be nice to also add a duration Timer. When i see the cloud during the Cyclon i always think " oh we got a cyclon now? THAT must be the reason why i can't see crap(duh)"

Seriously since the duration of the Cyclon is as random as its appearance and you remove the randomness of the appearance by counting down when it comes ( you also know IF a Cyclon comes in this game), you can also go the step further and announce how long it will last.

This would implement the Cyclon much better in the Gameplay since you can plan ahead.

I hope that the Campwannabeartybbs see that in some Minutes, if they don't get upclose and personal, they can't do crapanymore.

Cyclon and Epicenter are 2 steps to force the players to more balls and brawling. I like brawling really much (especially in Turtleback Armour(Kurfürst OP Yami can't give me 40k 2km distance broadside but i can xD))

I am not impressed by this change.

The icon is tiny, not very noticeable, I think it should be bigger and I think it should show each stage of the cyclone.

Also, a voice over to this effect would be nice.

"Typhoon-san desu." "Hoh." - I don't know, I don't speak Japanese..

"Captain, storm front coming in from the west." "Understood."- RN probably, as their caps are flying off inside of the enclosed bridge.

There is no real build up to the cyclone.

There is no indication on the map where it currently is (it is nowhere or everywhere) instead of the giant eye of a storm moving across the map.

It would be absolutely awesome to have something resembling a real cyclone/typhoon, a weather front moving in from one specific direction, storm clouds coming up, rain starting, wind picking up, gradually becoming worse and worse..

It would be truly awesome of it would affect part of the map, with a calm center.

Then it would be useful to show an indication on the minimap.

That way you could either move into it, or out of it, to take most advantage of it.

That said, I like the cyclone, have never had one situation where I wish it wasn't happening, it really adds to immersion and I strongly encourage further development of these effects.

I've read that there are problems with further implementation of weather, but I'd like everything to be done within the limits of the current engine.

Why i said it is bullcrap:  the only thing this cyclone does is limit visibility.  In real life,  ships avoided cyclones, nevermind fighting, because carriers could not operate planes in cyclones,  accuracy of the guns was affected because rolling and pitching,  and operating the guns that were not in fully enclosed turrets became really difficult. Fleets avoided cyclones also because the speed was greatly reduced (while fuel consumption was increased).

But ofc most of the playerbase of this game has no idea of all this,  thats why they are delighted by lousy features like this. What we have as a cyclone would be better called a solar eclipse.

The devs selected the most simplistic and noobish feature from a cyclone to implement. Bullcrap.

Cyclone = solar eclipse.
