Hi Wargaming

I would like to know when you are looking to fix the cost of playing Tier X ships. Especially around the Battleships. I just played a game with my Montana, matched up with a team that really wasn't supportive or playing as a team. We were matched up against 4 destroyers (2 x Tier X and 2 x Tier IX). I sank one ship and then ran into a wall of torpedoes. Game over. This one match cost me 180,000 credits.

My whole group of friends played the game religiously since it was released, had tons of fun. Until we reached Tier X. Eventually nobody could afford to repair their ships, so they simply stopped playing the game. And they have no interest in playing anymore until it is viable to play.

The cost is one issue, the other is to be in such large ships with sometimes up to 5 Destroyers against you in a random match with people that are only out to get kills and aren't really interested in the team play mode. Please reduce the cost of losing ships at high tiers and maybe limit destroyers like you do carriers. Getting well annoyed.

Not another one of these

The cost of TX battles is designed so you can't play them exclusively, ie if you are an average player you will over time loose a little money on these battles

its also meant to discourage poor players from playing at those tiers at all

You are meant to drop down to the mid tiers and play there for most battles with the high tiers being a treat you earn

To add to Synth_FG, the amount of credits you earn depends on the damage you do and you simply do not do enough damage.  I know you are only at 10 games in the Montana but your average damage is only 60% of the server average in the Montana and certainly not enough to turn a profit if your ship dies.  And you might say that it is because it is a new ship but looking at your Iowa and other BBs leads me to think it won't get that much higher.

Nope. You're "forbidden" to talk about this. LTP will be your only response. Nobody seems to understand this will be the eroding factor of this otherwise marvelous game. Somehow, like Synth_FG puts it: they don't want anybody to enjoy the high tiers. It is only for "us Holy players." You've seen how well apartheid has turned out in South Africa.... My point is: I'm not scared if something's at stake. But if you don't at least sink 5 ships, doing 1 million damage you are going to lose credits. It's as simple as that. Making the T10 (and 9 battles for that matter) extremely tedious and boring. So I wonder where this will end if the "saint holy divine players" have found something else.... So no "poor player" can ever train and advance to their sacred standards. being an experienced noob I always try to give tips and tricks to less experienced. So next time I'll have a great battle. But considering the T9-10 I'll let the baboons keep their small hill and have nice battles in lower tiers.

you often lose a bit of money even if you do average, just part of the business model

the way it is right now, T10 is sort of like desert, as much as we want ice cream all day, we cant have it

many ppl have complained about the costs and its one of the things i hope to see toned down too

but for now, keep a few mid tiers to farm money to afford T10

its rare, but i have turned moderate profits in T10

usually happens when the entire team is cooperative, solidifies as one, everyone knows their roles and backs each other up

and not when everyone is in the back sniping and 1 or 2 push and get nuked

T10 is a lot like knifefighting

the first (side) to slip up gets mauled and there is no real "winner"

the "winner" goes home in an ambulance and the loser goes home in a body bag (and theres blood everywhere)

Perhaps they should remove credits, XPs and even the tech tree from the game... just let anyone start it up and dive right into playing any ship they wish... I mean, we don't to segregate people right?

DD have similar repair costs.

You can play lower tier ships to get money.

So many options...

That is the reason that why do you need premium account and premium ships. WG is not a charitable organization.

The eroding factor for online games is the lack of fun on low tiers for new players because they are more or less alone.

Pushing players to lower tiers is imho a genius game design, because it ensures the fun on every tier in this game.

I have seen enough online games die because new players could not catch up with the existing playerbase, being it in terms of game level or equipment.

Have you ever been new to an almost dead online game? You run around alone, do the quests or missions alone and feel bored rather quickly. If you happen to not leave yet, you will most likely face the "veteran playerbase" at one point, that just steamrolls you with higher levels or better equipment. If it's PvP, you'll lose all the time, if it's PvM, they won't take you, since your gear is so bad. It's just frustrating.

Once again:

People are not chickens because of repaircosts. You have this behaviour at Tier IV & V too. Cost is not the issue.

The issue is that people (especially BB players) do not want to leave the game early. Most people want to play until the end of the match.

I see it way more often at T10, but I may be wrong, as I only own up to T8 atm.

Really? You're going to compare "having to play a few low tier games to pay for paying poorly at max tier" with EFFING APARTHEID? WHAT THE EFFING HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU??

Also, if you make t10 easily affordable for someone who plays barely half as good as average, then people playing average will earn quite a bit, and those playing well will have huge incomes.

Lol. I'm playing to win and have fun. Extremely rare in the player base I've met untill today. Granted. My words were ill chosen. My appoligies for that. My point being: it's impossible for me to enjoy the high tier battles. Team work is essential there. I really don't mind if I make a huge loss when I screw up. That's the only way to learn to become better. I'm @ Kangeroo, Ibuki, Yamato and Montana in the top tears. Try as I might, playing my role. Scouting and capping with my DD, screening my BB's/ DD's in the cruiser or tanking in the BB's. It's always (ok, bibilical miracles not considered) the same result: good match. That'll be 150K. That pisses me off and leaving me an unsatisfied costumor. Especially in the Ibuki. I hear the shells splash the water. And about 1 or 2 seconds later... "Oh, I forgot: you have a triple citadel because the BB was looking funny at you." In the 5th minute. At that time I know I''ll never ever can compensate the repair costs. No matter how much Krakens I shoot, caps I take or damage I do. All with my Premium, flags and cammo bonuses.

Even that's all OK for me. I absolutely don't mind the game being a commercial business. My whole point is: I like to play the higher tiers as well and grow in that. I don't mind if something's at stake. No, i don't like to lose but I'll take my loss as a man. I just don't want to be bugged. Being in commercial business myself (for the Sharnhorst Supreme I'll have to work about 30 to 45 minutes) I don't understand why a commercial enterprise is bugging off their own clients and making the top ranks for some elite slimes who happen to be that well in their petty universe. My handicap is I don't have the skills (slightly dyscalculy so every shot is rocket science for me and talking about an Aim assist is as big a taboo as critisise the high tear BS. But when I say "learn to see colors" to colorblind people, I'm being crucified) nor the cheats to make the tier 9-10 battles function for me!

Indeed, we've been over this again and again. I'll give you that. But there's no solution which can satisfy us all. Well there is, but that's were my, again ill chosen, words come as a counter argument: this is our place. You don't belong here. Well, IMO: stick your place where it's very dark and smelly for all I care. I guess I can beat most of you "this is our tier and we are better then you" in RL-credit income. If this matter is not solved in a satisfying way, I'm out of here.

Sorry for my wall of txt. To conclude my statement: I'm a very avergage player. I'll never shine in this game, because of my other things I shine in and my calculation handicap. And again:  sorry for my badly chosen words. But, this game is a great hobby for me. I'm compensating with RL cash to make it easier. Is is that hard to make this game in high tiers enjoyable for me (and I think a lot of other carrying players with me)?

I would add the economic aspect aswell.

This design encourages people to spend real money on the game, premium account, premium ships and even buying credits for money/gold.

In fact they should increase the repair costs by 40% at t10.That way in will have a less daily dose of "Unexperienced players" that sit back being to scared to fight.U cant afford to play at t10?Spoiler alert:you are doing something wrong

Unless repair costs start entering half million area, it will be hardly any deterrent for "casual players" - before repair discount events and now, people are equally not willing to get their ships dented. I doubt even earning credits on repairs would do a thing.

But you let yourself get angry about these things.  For me, I have ships that I am grinding at tiers 4, 5, 7, 8 (4 of them) and then I have my 2 tier 10 ships.  When I'm playing I try yo make some progress on my grinds and I make credits in the process.  Then I sometimes take my tier 10s out for a ride but I don't really ever look at my credit earnings at any tier.  I might look at my overall credits at the end of the evening nad as a rule they generally go up and that is what I want them to do.  However if I played tier 10 exclusively for an evening and ended up 1 mil down I wouldn't care if I had enjoyed myself.

Sure -150k credits seems a lot for playing a match but it is not hard to earn back in one of your premiums and you have a few of them.  I play my Tirpitz because it is fun to play as well as a credit earner.

To be honest, I was a bit miffed at the cost of the TX ships, it is mental the amount they cost to run however I have come to understand the reasons behind that decision and I am ok with that.

My credit crunching machines are the warspite and Atlanta, they can both net me 500k or there abouts in a single match.  So its more about balancing the game.

I made the mistake when I first started playing to just rush to the top, selling everything to get to the next level, that was a mistake.

IMO, if your crunching a tree then at the very least around T6/7 keep that ship, yes it will take longer to get the next one and your capt will need to start over but you will come to rely on that ship for your cash.

XP on the other hand is a complete barsteward.  millions of XP sitting their gathering dust and ill be damed if I'm paying hundreds of pounds to convert it.  We should have things to buy with that XP on the ship it was generated on, even if its just camos and other decals

Retrain your t10 captains for lower tier ships and enjoy free game. When you get all ships and don't have anything else to spend credits on, dump it in t10.
