Scharnhorst has changed the game (get ready to park those cruisers boys)

I recently bought a Scharnhorst and I must say the ship is awesome.....but maybe a little too awesome! I have never seen a ship, premium or otherwise, that has changed the game so much, there are 2 or 3 in every game, finish top 3 maybe 4 most of the time and all at the expense of poor cruisers (to the point that I have parked my cruisers for the night). The ship is an absolute monster in any game, but against cruisers, the ship is just plain crazy. This isn't a rant, I love the ship.....but I feel cruisers are being pushed out of the game!

It will calm down and it's not even remotely bad as it was with the Tirpitz back in the day.

There were up to 6 Tirpitzes on each side for weeks, but it eventually calmed down.

 

I'm actually surprised that it's not worse.

 

I don't think that the Scharnhorst will push out cruisers, folks just need some time to adapt.

She's not remotely as strong as the Rhm. Scorpion TD that got released on Friday. That thing is [edited]strong and hilariously awesome.

I hope this Tank will not get nerfed...

I don't think the cruiser are being pushed out the game,there is are few good cruisers in the game that will kill the Scharnhorst.

Plus its just depends on the players skill.

Bad skill = getting freaking killed.

Like hell I will! Even if my winrate drops down to 1%. I will find a weak spot in the Sharn with my cruisers. Rammig does the trick in most of the cases!!

It seems the new German BBs are weak in the last 3rd of the ship the Horst is no exception

When Tirpitz came, there was no new shipline at the same time, if I recall correct?

And its even a BB line too

 

And the whole "Cruisers worst nightmare" I always assumed was just another way of saying: "useless against bb's"

Scharnhorst is great but I got taken down by a Mogami and Hipper. One by fire one by AP. Gang up on her and she will die like everything else

She also seems to take a LOT of HE damage to superstructure, no matter the caliber (Atlantas murderate Scharnhorsts veeeery quickly if they get a good firing spot). Or is that just me?

M=y experience of the new shineyhorse has been that it really does live up to the "Cruiser Killer" hype, that things a beast. Not enough to make me put my CA's away but when there's 3 Sharn's in a match it's incredibly difficult!

So? That is cruisers problem if they can't deal with it. Even I play mostly on Scharnhorst. I get a lot rekts by 3+ cruisers. Some of them use HE and some AP.

There were not a lot of cruisers in the matches before the patch as well. Things will even out. The scharnhorst is vulnerable to classic battleships (and DDs off course), because she can not fight back with the same power.

There's quite a few cruisers that can easily ruin a Scharnhorst's day, especially if they are in a wolf pack.

T9 cruisers can easily stand up to you in a straight fight and win.

Wait what? Cruisers are the most played class stats-wise. Go check. It's all about tiers.

 

I get your point if talking Tier 8+ though, since CAs become relatively uncompetitive at higher tiers, but tier 7 and below was World of Cruisers before the patch.

Mostly MM does fairly well, but in tier 5-7 games, 8+ out of 12 ships were usually cruisers.

I even had a tier 7 game with 23 (!) CAs and just 1 dd one monday afternoon. Now post-patch it is different ofc.

All tier7 BBs will get clubbed by a tier9 cruiser, mostly because fire chance against a ship two tiers lower is pretty good and because tier9 cruisers can heal too. The Gneisenau is the only one that could perhaps chase down a tier9 cruiser, if RNGesus is with her and the fires are rare. It's a stupid comparison though, because that's not what this game is about.
