gamescom, one more sign of how WG does not respect players

Today i fount about 5 WG_gamescom_WoWS_xxx (xxx is a number) in games and all of them just suicide or doing nothing all time!

Ok WG doesnt want to make MM working with player rank (or something else) and it is enought to make some games a crap(win or loose doesnt matter, when you loose 20 minutes of your life for a really noob match i think it is just frustrating). BTW WG cant put random players without experience in game!

They must start from low level ships because play 12 vs 11 is not funny!!! I needed weeks to get a tier V ships and learn something of this game when i joined WOWs first time, and now i dont want to loose my time with people traveling untill they hit the biggest island of the map and than die because they dont know how to move back!

So I'm at the gamescom, and to give you a clear picture of what people get to play here, here's how it works:

  • You only get 15 minutes too play no matter what. In a battle when the time runs up? Doesn't matter, they'll throw you out.

  • Your have access to pretty much all ships with three (undistributed) point captains. The ships are not specced whatsoever. The game is infact running entirely on the default settings. That means the game is actually not running on the highest graphics settings and alternative battle interface is turned off. In other words, if you know what you're doing you'll spend the first 5 of your 15 minutes seeing the game up.

  • credits and doubloons are pretty much limitless, not that you'll have the time to spend them.

The point is, even if you know what you're doing you don't get the time to play a complete, proper game. Wargaming is essentially forcing you to sabotage games.

It'll be better coming tomorrow. Today is trade-visitors-only (with a handful lucky wildcard winners). From Thursday on the average quality will rise, simply because a larger number of those who play on those stations with those accounts will at the very least have played the game beforehand, some of which will also have played the game a lot beforehand and are just trying out the new german battleships.

Though I can agree with your sentiment. Why WG simply can't bother to put up a gaming booth with 24 gaming stations for interested visitors to try the game in a controlled and secluded environment is simply beyond my understanding. Even from a marketing perspective it looks like the better option, since a newcomer jumping into his literally first game ever in tier X and getting thrown into a match with up to 23 seasoned game veterans (a round of cynical chuckles plz, you know why!) isn't exactly likely to endear them to the game when they inevitably get their behind handed to them.

That must be real fun to participate on such event. I would expect one or two full games, not this.

And that's even worse.

WG want to present the game as is - not a fenced off baby variant. Probably a good choice, PR-wise. They might be accused of misleading advertising otherwise.

Anyways - it's only for the duration of Gamescom. If you can't handle the occasional noob on your team during that time, I'd suggest playing something else until the weekend's over. =)

They could put them in Co Op games, easier and faster.

Same discussion each time this happens. These are new people who might be getting interested into the game, which in the end benefits us all. So, for the few days this does happen each year, take you chillpills.

Ever wonder if people are taking randoms just a little bit too seriously? No worse than the odd afk which you see anyway.

1st, this happenned last year, and will happen next, and next, and next...

2nd, I've had terrible teams that sabotage my efforts to win a single game this afternoon/evening. And you know what... none of them was a Gamescom account.

So what you're saying is that we should relentlessly persecute them and make sure they have a miserable time by focus firing them out as soon as they are spotted on the loading screen so they have the least negative impact on the game? Cuz that's the vibe I'm getting out of you.

Maybe you should get out there, away from your computer if that's the vibe you get.

Would you consider my opinion if I told you your reading comprehension is invalid?

I don't have a huge issue - it's about as annoying as bots/really bad players/people that bought a tier 8 premium straight away.

However I question how wise it is to show off your game by putting people in a high tier match where they then get cursed at for 15 mins. A co-op battle with lots of explosions and sinking sounds more exciting than being sunk straight away while 12 people tell you you're useless and should uninstall

Just look on the bright side. Every time you see a Gamescom account in the match, you have a chance to win prizes.

Otherwise, learn to never play during such events or specials as this one, as such people will allways be present.

You don't like playing with them? Take a week off, you heart will probably  be better off for it.

Jesus christ, that's totally worthless experience. How hard would be to actually prepare template for the Event account? With properly speced out ships and cpt?  Also maxed out config.ini files so you don't have to setup each computer options to max details.

Sounds really not worth the time considering how many other attractions gamescom can offer.

Sadly, the second point is so true.

Had a game on two brothers, where I practically yelled at people NOT to go through the Channel.

But they did and you can guess the rest..

Even worse was a game that was recently posted by a somewhat well-known contributor on YouTube..

I won't name him or link, because the game is uncensored, so it could be considered naming and shaming..

Anywho, two Yamatos and an Iowa decided to derp up the Channel on Two Brothers, apparently a common theme, but were welcomed with a completely deserved barrage of torpedoes and instantly managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Remember, these guys will be on both teams, you will have them on your team and theirs, it will balance out.

Just do your best, take out the potatoes on the other team first, then win easily.

Or try to compensate for their failures, anticipate them, or a least don't count on them.
