After finally completing WG's ridiculous "10 missions before you've got the doubloons required to really start testing" awfulness I've started replying in the numerous PT threads.

 

However, a few things I noticed which aren't mentioned are as follows -

 

Bots - These seem to be using AP rounds much more often than before, has there been an AI logic tweak? (routes are still far too rigid anyway)

Tirptiz - During my 10 mission grind in the Fuso I found I was regularly Citadelling the Tirpitz at 8-15km which I've never been able to do before. Has anything changed or is that just RNGesus shining down on me (about 8 citadels in 10 games - Tirpitz is popular right now!)?

Well  I guess we all noticed that we get a lot less damage and a lot more overpenetrations now. Regardless of any type of ship. 10 km Cruiser on Cruiser combat became overpenetration heaven. I remember iChases words: "You still want to use AP because even if you don't hit the citadel you will do a solid amount of damage.". Now I regulary overpen other cruisers with my Atago no matter what distance and even my little 8 inch guns went trough the Tirpitz armour at a distance of 9 kilometers. And these were rather center hits than in the bow. 

Something's up, I'm just not sure what.

Like the idea of having a go in the Atlanta etc. Which is soo funny spamming HE at everything, had such a laugh in it. Not convinced I wld buy it though bit expensive for me at the moment maybe if it's on offer I will. Will complete the mission again and look at the other premium ships.

Instead of saying that, pls, go to the bugs section and there u can see all know bugs published by the players

 

I was reluctant to do that since it technically has nothing to do with the actual patch that will be implemented into the game.

I'd like to have the proximity detect though islands removed. Today I had a battle with a cruiser in the Fubuki. As I made myself a difficult target when he used the radar I rushed behind an island for cover and planned to come out afterwards. But, as the New Orleans hid on the other side he detected me through the island, and through my smoke and his teamates could finish me off very easy. 

 

I don't mind the proximity detect but having that through islands is a joke, that will not only ruin any surprise attack but will lead to a situation like the one that just happened to me.

when is try to play the game i get this.... no idea what to do are the servers down?

 

Just checked, was able to login fine.

They do say the server may be down for maintenance at any time, but have had no issues yet.

Just a few thoughts about the T1 changes.

 

In short: I'm torn!

 

On one side, I'm sure that your server statistics gave you a few hints regarding the usage of HE (probably most new players never try AP at T1) or the misunderstanding of domination mode (as explained in earlier patch notes).

 

On the other hand: At some point a new player has to learn the game mechanics. All new players up to 0.5.9 managed to go through it. And if a new player quits the game after playing a few T1 (CoOp) battles, I'm pretty sure that's not because said player doesn't understand the game mechanics. Maybe a proper tutorial about the AP use would help solve this problem.

What I also find quite misleading is the fact that you HE-citadel your enemies at closer ranges. Sure there are situations in the higher tiers where that can also happen (against a low tier CV for example), but from my perception, players will be lead to think that this is the rule rather than an exception. Not good.

And the division problem stays: What happens if a T1 + T2 division goes into battle. Now (even in a T3 battle) a T1 ship has some chances.

 

Maybe postpone this change to the next patch?

 

 

Anything else, seems quite fine atm. I didn't encounter any problems so far.

 

As for the testing procedure: You handled one of the earlier PTs quite well (was it 0.5.7?), where higher tiers were unlocked after a few days of testing (on the first two days you could test up to and including T6. On the third day the tiers 7 & 8 were unlocked, and on the fifth day the rest up to T10. In my eyes that was a quite balanced approach. But the premiums are nice.

Public test - you click on the link and it asks you to download the game again - then you can not log in using the same email - so what is the point of the spiel in the annoncement that says you have to use the same email account 

Then you can not get back into the EU server either 

This is a farce

Did you register?

Because you certainly can use the same e-mail account for both the PTS and the EU server.

Different clients, different passwords, but same e-mail address.

Just follow the steps in the instructions.

Tirpitz armor model changed together with USN BB's. Increased pen damage and cits were already reported numerous times on forum. Well, it's old WG trick, old prems get nerfed to make need for new ones...

Probably next Thursday or the Thursday after that.

But only they know, there has been no official announcement and they are not available on the PTS as part of 0.5.10.

We've been asking questions about whether they will be included in this testing phase or a future testing phase, but no answer so far.

I already completed the questionnaire about the current testing phase, so no clue what is left to be tested this weekend, but German BBs are not available as of now, I just checked on the PTS.

This is probably just something that they can switch on when they release the patch, so that doesn't mean anything.

It could mean that the German BBs are being delayed until the next patch, but they state that German BBs are inbound in August and it has always been planned to release them around Gamescom, which starts Wednesday next week, so fingers crossed.

They have stated the German BB line is part of this update and I'm betting it will be during Gamescom so next week probably

i have played last the 5.09 .

the launcher report me : error to connect  ?!   :(

 

in the normal launcher of Wow is all ok  ..and i can play  -

what happened ?

My Feedback for T1 matches:

Was there any need to change the Match system in this way? There was a protection of new guys at MM, not to match the Sealsclubber and i think it was working very well. Sealsclubber meet sealsclubber most time- sometimes 3vs3 matches, but it was ok.

 

There is no Note about change dmg models at Tier1- only Half HP so it is in fact a brutal nerf for ships that can get Citadell hits by HE shells and a Buff to Imba, for ships with armor that can not get citadell hits anymore.

 

To limit the the Ammo at T1(only HE) will create HE spamming guys that will never try AP- most T2 ships have bad AP and so they go on with HE till they got BB and on. This is not the way i think to toggle the learning curve down, you destroy it.

 

So- Wargaming- did not change T1 ships to useless and Imba without fun of using AP against a Hermelin. If you do- T1 is nearly dead- no fun rounds and no learning for new guys- bc there will be no more guys.

there seems to be something screwy about the PT match maker ... well, more than normal.

 

when entering a random game with the nurnberg, there were anything up to 40+ ships in my 'range'.

leave the queue and reenter the queue in the cleveland and there would be hardly any ships in my range at all.

leave the queue and reenter as the nurnberg and we have the original sort of numbers in my range.

reenter the queue in the cleveland and its back to hardly any ships in range

 

games for the nurnberg were very quickly allocated but for the cleveland you could sit of 5 minutes before finally getting an 8 ship game. either the nurnberg is very popular or the cleveland is getting a bit of cold shoulder by the MM.

well second report,after having updated twice ,the first seemed to have corrected gui so ribbons were normal size,visually did'nt see much improvement elsewere.i run an amd system so most setting's are low to get a decent frame rate

quick question is the new multi-cluster in operation ?because while ping was good around 40 but there seemed to be constant lag spikes,more-so than on e.u server.

 

pink is the new blue,wow is this gonna cause problem's on the server's lol.whilst i really hope it stop's the real culprit's,it's gonna catch many more accidental's,which is self defeating in some ways,in one game we had 7 pink,so the first shout was pink's 'a' everyone else 'c' lol........ and yes it got me too ,and im an idiot that right click's all the time to look around lol stray torp from cruiser,killed target but one flew by and killed one of our own.

overall think it will be a good patch,i know alot like me have been waiting and waiting for brit/german tree's and im guessing it will prove popular once it goes live.

 

ok here's the rant

must admit because of the change's i have been looking at the battle log's more and the cost's to run are way too much,and im pretty sure this is causing alot of player's to just stick at lower tier's,i think tier 6/7 is the sweet spot,but above that the costs are prohibitive even to an average prem player, i know i took a break because it's just grind and more grind,for little reward,and i really dont see the point in keeping high level's so expensive to run and up-grade,where a bad loss cost's more than a tier4 ship,if you want more people playing you need to keep feeding them carrot's,or are we sticking with the blinker's because when i see 16k player's on server instead of 30k i guess alot are taking a break

Another couple of updates arrived - 53mb and 1.3mb - Lets see what they bring!

 

EDIT - Things I noticed

 

a. Cyclone is now starting at 7 minutes not 5 minutes.

b. New Orleans 50 doubloon camo wrong (bug raised)
