I had a defeat with Iowa yesterday, and I didn't suffer loss that time. By hoisting economical flags and dealing 196k dmg I made whooping 328 credits profit :D

I'm not convinced the economy is the problem but the gameplay ---> in another thread.

 

I suspect the same. The economy may indeed be a problem that needs to be addressed but I think its largely a separate one. I don't think fixing it would solve the issue of passive gameplay at high tiers.

I'm not sure. I don't care much about the repair costs in high tier. If I go low on credits, I just play middle tier a while. Although.. seeing bbs ending up in corners and along the borders as often as now in high tiers, I wonder if something should be done to discourage this behaviour...

The High Tier game economy works well when you do well and thats the way it should be.. no free rides for the massive amount of players that do not know how to play the game in high tiers or the minority seem to carry the majority to victory.

 

The argument of "git gud" to address the economy is ultimately inane, because the only reason the good players are making money in the higher tiers is because bad players exists which means that they will have ships that they can easily prey on. If everyone did "git gud", then good will be the new average. The unicums of today who gloat at everyone else will become the average player base who suffers from the insane higher tier repair prices like everyone else.

Tier Xcosts are about right but implemented wrong in my opinion. The repair costs go up too sharply if you sink. They should start higher and not go up as much.

 

At the moment the players are rewarded for avoiding damage (avoids costs) and punished for a risk that goes wrong.

 

If repair costs were high *anyway* and only a little higher if you sink (lower than now), players would be rewarded for getting damage in more than for avoiding damage.

 

Right now the system is overly focussed on if you sink, but not by much.

 

Testing in tier Xs. On average (after a bit of l2p!) - breaking even (ish). Which is about right.

 

 

I do concure very much with this. Higher entry fee in general, that you need to earn back! coupled with somewhat higher rewards.

 

 

 

But I am not buying this "its all about the repair cost". A lot of the invertebrate of this game have only mastered the "ways" of cowardice, camping, parasiting and a$$sniffing while buying going up the tiers, an they practice those "tactics" throughout ANY TIER.

 

Look at this picture from the test server:

You wanna know what happened? It was defence on Estuary. I went south and sunk two ships. In that time the enemy sunk 1 ship each north and south ...... and we were being caped .... already :fishpalm:. I raced north again with engine boost and pleaded with them to get out of the island and decap, I just didnt have the range on Mahan to fire on them, yet, for ofc, no one was spotting as they were busy playing ... "with themselves" (should be forum appropriate)  behind islands.

Then I would take over the decaping and since I am in a DD and its against AI the AI WOULD FOCUS ME, AND ONLY ME, THE FU<K DOWN!

While my teammate could, theoretically if they would haul their asses from behind the island, take their sweet time and shoot the AI that is solely focusing on the DD.

 

But nope cant have that, bot ships are way to scary and so the enemy bot were able to cap us ......

 

 

So guys, bearing in mind that this is testserver, tell me!

 

- are there any [edited]repair costs judging from the fact that you get several 100s of millions creds  and the server is up for like 4 days?

- are there any stats to "be ruined"?

- is there anything to be gained from this cowardice?

- remember for most people its about to test out new ships, so you want xp fast. Every damn shell landed IS PURE XP, esp if its decaping .... but nope to scary.

 

 

High tier matches in general also need AI controlled submarines!  From the beginning of the match they should with (historical slow submerged) speed start to encroach on the map boarders and send infinite waves of torpedoes after every border hugger, spawn camper and bot/afker. 

Want to be save from the subs? Go try the caps or the enemy base, and you wont get shot at by those.

i agree with the title. its really easy to make big profits at top tiers. it could be little more challenging.

 

I agree. WG should give ghostbuster a 300k tier X default battle tax so he stops coming onto these economy threads and boasting.

He is boasting. Maybe by divisioning up with other unicums he gets ahead, but he is not making good money.

 

And count that not all people use premium accounts.

its also easy to make good profit by playing solo. if you play good you get rewarded its that simple.

True, but looking at your last 7 days - your 44% WR in solo vs you 83% WR in 3-div must affect your income somewhat, even if you have good games and premium account. I'm not arguing for a change in economy, just that your claim about how easy it is to make big profit in tier 10 comes with some reservation.

you cant win alose always. i rage quit 4 times last week because of teams. but i dont remember that i lost money even after losing the battle.

That's premium account for you. 

No premium at tier X, no profit, unless you do a game with confederate and don't sink.
