What did the [EU] do this time to deserve a different treatment for WG's 18th birthday?

This would have cemented this anniversary for me as absolutely friggin awesome.

The Konig Albert is ready to go as per NA twitter and i would think the scharnhorst is too so i was very much expecting them.

Well yea disconts are pretty useless when you own all ships allready. Also not a huge fan on the unique flags in bundles on ships that are allready in the game. For example i own Warspite since day one and Campeltown the day ist released but to only give out the Memento flag if you buy a package with both...... guess they dont value exiting customers too much over new ones.

 it would be something... it would be a nice little special compared to what we currently know we get... sure it wouldnt be the Scharnhorst, but collectors, purists (since the König Albert has the real WW2 hull etc.) and some other people would likely buy it... ie i'm thinkin about buying it...

Low tiers are fun to me so yes i will be getting the Konig Albert.

But being a greedy bastard i absolutely set my sights on the Scharnhorst as well.

I am an old bugger so please excuse me for that. Throughout my life I was always glad for something for nothing no matter anyone else getting something better than you, why? Because you are not them! Sure more is better but something is better than nothing. Some here are blind to the different markets WG have to address, no matter the actual physical size of the US their player base is far smaller than ours so they need to do things to keep it going and to do things that may attract new players. Anyway, I will be happy with my little bit of something this weekend and hope some others will be thankful too. Buenos noches y dulces sueños.......

 

From what I can see, EU doesn't exactly have an overabundance of players and no need for further newcomers either. Sure,the population is big enough to fill the mid-tiers, but was it enough to saturate ranked enough to allow for regular rank 1 games? Nope, not in the slightest. Getting instant Tier 1/2 games is also not a given. There are times when you have to wait quite a while to get enough people together.

 

WG's policies make it harder for me to recruit new people into the game. Of the 5 people (all WoT players) I introduced to the game, only one stuck around, and stuff like this played quite a big role in that.

As for me, i'm not annoyed by the event, it's quite ok, even if someone would expect more for such occasion, but WG got very stingy in the last few years, so no wonder.

 

What i won't ever agree with is unequal treating of clients in the global game on global internet. There is literally no reason to do so, with many reasons not to do so. Further aggravating is what WG say about the entire issue - i don't belive they are so blind not to see it (as they show in the Scharnhorst issue, they are only faking lack of knowledge while really they know what is going in the community), so why do they persist in pissing people off?

It amazes me that a company would even work this way, why do this? surely having a unified promotional system makes sense because by treating ANYONE worse than any group just upsets them and has to be counter-productive.

That was my point. EU isn't above the need to attract more players any more than the other servers are, so why give WG a pass for treating EU like a red-headed stepchild, with less customer-friendly offers and specials than the other servers? If you want more new players, and want the existing playerbase to feel appreciated and stick around, blatant favoritism like this is not the smartest way to go. The 2x instead of 3x xp bonus is just... wow.

 

And while the Lo Yang deal isn't exactly bad, it kinda feels out of place at this point in time, with the German BBs and Scharnhorst in the pipeline... I for one am definitely holding on to my cash for the time being.

Not quite the same thing because your getting into exchange rates and such we are talking about base offers x2 weekend to x3 weekends (for example) and the like yes prices will not match region to region but base offers there is no reason for them to not match eachother because at the end of the day the whole idea of offers is to excite your customer base think the black friday sales in the US or the boxing day sales in the UK companies don't do it because they are nice simply to generate sales and good will. The system WG have in place just pisses people off.
