Hey WG, do something about MM for the love of god(s)

Okay, my intention is not to whine and moan, but to ask WG to do something about MM at certain tiers, because frankly the game is getting unplayably frustrating to me. It's probably just a matter of coincidence, but every tier I'm grinding at the moment is getting CONSTANTLY slotted in +2 matches. I'm not overreacting nor exaggerating here. Currently I have 3 ships at Tier 6: New Mexico, Budyonny, and Nurnberg. New Mex is awesome like that so that beauty doesn't really mind, but the thing is I'm getting Tier 8 matches all the goddamn time. I stopped grinding Nurnberg a while ago because it became nauseating. I don't have that much will to continue in the Budyonny as well. I also rebought C Hull Furutaka for fun as that ship is phenomenal, but it is rotting in my port because it's not fun at all to always be in Tier 7 battles (while I played that ship, I was TOP5 EU on average damage at one point.)

 

But Tier 8 takes the cake: I have Mogami, Amagi, Fubuki, and Benson. AND I SEE NOTHING BUT TIER 10. All day long. Don't get me wrong, it's not that I'm getting steamrolled. I'm enduring the onslaught... somehow. But it's not fun in the least. Just look at the screenshots of 8 battles at Tier 8 today. And believe me, the same thing is going on every day. All the time.

 

It's totally hilarious! In a bad way. Please do something about this nonsense. Short of abandoning every single line I grind, what should I do? Sealclub with my beautiful Clemson all day long?

if you cant handle being bottom tier then drop down a few tiers, we are all in the same boat when we are bottom tiers but most rise to the challenge and try do well. Lucky your ships can do decent damage if you have the skill to play smart.

 

The 2 tier spread will never change so its time to move on and play the game.

Did you even look at the screenshots, man? I am usually top xp earner in those tier 10 games. So I manage just fine, thank you. The point is, it's absolutely no fun at all to play +2 almost every single match. MM is seriously problematic at certain tiers, and that's fact. Out of those 96 enemy ships in the 8 matches, you know how many were T6? Three! You know how many were T10? Twenty! the problem isn't +2/-2, the problem is nothing but uptiered battles. I don't think that's how it's supposed to be.

yeah i looked but i dont see an issue with any player being bottom tier as i know i can be that player and it can happen quite a bit.

 

The reason it happens so much is down to the bad game play at tier 10 as there is to many low skilled players making sure a defeat happens and lot of people who have tier 9 and 10 ships just dont want to play them as the chances of losing the battle is to high. Tier 9 and 10 are spread out a lot more due to that and people playing tier 8 tend to end up in these battles more and more. The game needs more tier 10 players that know how to play that tier.

Maybe it's because you're playing OP Benson and Fubuki all the time. Both perform well against tier 9-10 and are massively better than tier 6, so...

I have no problem with +/-2, I really don't. It's good for the game. And as you can see from those screenshots, I can handle it just fine. It's simply no fun to run around Shimas, Gearings, and Yamatos all day long. Who doesn't like being top dog at least once in a while?

I had a run of 7 consecutive games bottom tier in tier 8s a few days ago. It happens sometimes.

Wellthe thing is only people bottom tier all the time are going to be frustrated and post on the forum. You're not likely to see a "hey WG why am I always top tier" thread. It must happen though. 

 

OP. Bad luck you'll get runs of top tier as well. 

 

I do think MM could be coded to give you a break though and prevent you from being bottom tier more than 3 times in a row. It would ease player frustration and be good for player satisfaction. Good for business no?

T10 is the reward you get for grinding through the tiers

 

a couple of T8s thrown in as fodder is strengthening for the spirit and builds character

it reinforces perserverence and dedication and tests your will

pull yourself up by the bootstraps

its tough love

be a man

 

when you have put in the hard work of grinding all the way to T10, you then will have earned the right to club others, until then, its another day in the office

know who is your boss and know your place

 

 

on a serious note, just play a more passive / supportive role and KNOW WHEN TO DIP

i learned that the hard way on the mogami (and ibuki)

you cant afford to pick a fight with the big boys, so sit back, play backup and STAY ALIVE (AND IDEALY HIDDEN AS WELL)

one of my best games was in a benson where i was behind enemy lines the whole game and they wasted far too much time looking for me while eating my random torps and taking broadsides from my team

after midgame, everyone will be weak and you will be strong

 

benson is possible in T10

hard, but possible

i got elite in the benson a looooong time ago but didnt see the point of paying 12M to buy the fletcher

the benson is ambiguous in ways and it works out in your favor sometimes

it allows you to be both top and bottom tier

your focus when bottom tier isnt so much kills and damage, but caps and control of the map

 

oh and furutaka is pure cancer

aoba is also cancer, but its the stage before terminal

^ This. Being bottom tier all day is purely frustrating usually and will turn players away. 

Also, I think Tier 10's should only be able to see Tier 10's and Tier 9's. As the +/- 2 power gap is at it's worst at T8-10. Firing 10 410mm shells at a tier 10 cruiser's broadside only to have 90% of them bounce is balancing gone crazy, especially when every one of his salvos will set you on fire 1-2 times in return. Same problem goes for T8 BB's vs Tier 10's. At every other 2 tier gap the lower end BB's can reliably pen and citadel their higher tier counterparts in the right situations. An Amagi firing at a Yamato? You'll be lucky to do 2k damage.

WG has always wanted the games to end up being about the top tier, thus my guess is that those sitting and waiting in their tier 10s have first dibs on the tier 9's and 8's when it comes to getting them on their team/in-match. Seeing as WoWs has a much smaller player base than WoT this will probably happen more here than there.

I don't think it is bad luck. It's not only today. It's been this way for a while with all my T8 ships. There is some BS going on with T8 matchmaking.

Yup, just wanted to confirm that Tier 8 is currently unplayable. Today once more exclusively Tier 10 matches. I am quitting the tier until something changes, because frankly this isn't fun in the least. C'est la vie, I guess.

Depends what ship. I find tier 8 in tier 10 battle far from unplayable. 

 

Also I'm not getting any tier X battles when I play tier 8... Oh well. Bad luck!

Yeah well, it's not literally unplayable, but I really have no intention of seeing Yamatos, Khabas, Zaos, and such all day long. And Admiral, it's not bad luck. You can't tell me that out of dozens upon dozens of matches in every T8 ship I grind at least 75% are T10 because of bad luck. Those screenshots I posted in the opening post aren't a fluke. It really has been like that for weeks. Anyway, you only had 1 T8 match in the last 3 weeks (that I can see)! Getting bored of the game? Testing some German goodness?

Try playing a stock Amagi in a tier 10 fight lol.

 

The worse thing is that tier 10 is camping. I dont have range, but if i get near, the other enemy which is
camping is killing me.

 

I showed it to a friend who played wot and he just say: wtf?

 

It amase me that there is a +2 for a tier 8.Move it down to 1 and it should be fixed. Then the tier 9-10 can
play together and have camp party in a 25 km range boring battle.
