Feedback to Jingles' 500K sub contest

DISCLAIMER: Every single one of the video's jingles selected as winners deserve it for 100%

DISCLAIMER 2: I don't really know in what part of the forum this should be in since I was doubting between this, video and streams and contests.
 

I liked to participate in this contest and it really was a very nice initiative and it got me started in editting my videos.
 

BUT,

 

it's a shame that you made a 2nd playlist (the shortlist), my video was on the playlist for 1 day before you made your 2nd playlist.

On that one day my video got approximately 100 views and 5 subs (which is very nice)

The day after the 2nd playlist was introduced, I didn't get 1 single view, not 1 (which is very sad)

I know it was propably a lot easier for you to make one to at least know out of which people you have to chose the final winners, but in my opinion making that 2nd playlist PUBLIC was a big mistake.

No-one will even take a look at the first one because that's where the unfiltered "trash" is, it didn't help either that you never mentionned the first playlist after its first debut on your social media (facebook)

Instead you were already promoting the shortlist, you had to scroll down to the 8th OF JULY to find the original playlist.

 

This thread might look salty, that's because it kinda is, because I think it is unfair, both for me AND for the other people who didn't get selected. (As I said in the disclaimer, all people who did get selected really do deserve it tho)

The point was to promote new youtubers (At least that's what I thought it was), but you kindoff sank (haha ship pun) your own idea with the introduction of the 2nd playlist AKA the shortlist.

 

To anyone who is still reading this, thanks for reading. (I'm terrible in writing an ending to an opinion thingy)

I hope maybe an other youtuber with the same idea as Jingles had might keep this feedback in mind)

Well the Extended list generated views didnt it? the new one has the winners if you didnt win your not on it naturally.

If your contend was good the ones who saw it spread the Name. You had free Promotion anyhow so i dont see whats the grief.

Well it was a competition so the other videos just might have been that tiny fraction better (whatever better really means in this regard)? He did say he got more than 1000 videos sent in, he can hardly be blamed for not putting them all in a spotlight, can he.

I once sent a fabulous replay in but Rita "accidentally" patched his WoWs and he never even looked at it. Now *that* is salt! She will never be forgiven

I can totally relate to this (probably because i had a video on that playlist aswell). I really think it was an amazing idea Jingles had for his content. I have gotten so much Joy and inspiration in my life since i started my hobby project that is my channel, nowdays pretty much everthing i see and do in life is inspiring something in my creative process and makes a new idea for a video. And his contest really started this in so many new people that havent done any videos before and the came up with some awsome videos as a result of this which i think is pretty amazing!

I viewed all of the videos on the contest and i subscribed to many of them even tho they only had 2 or 3 videos right now on their channel im hoping they will stick with it and let this be as a great new part of their lifes as i has been in mine.

 

And i think Jingles did a great service (Tip to all the other great and big WoW Youtubers out their) to his community and to enspire new people to get involved in creating videos.

 

But i also thing he did a great deservice when he made the new shortlist public because then as you said no more people bothered to check out any of the others, and their was som amazing content their (not talking about mine, because mine was kind of crap).

 

Ps. Why are all hating on Jingles so much? Doesnt he have one of the biggest WoW channels around? Ds.

It generated views until the 17th, the day list 2 was made. Which is what I'm complaining about.

I got added to list 1 on the 16th, everone who got added after the 17th got screwed over even more.

Thanks for agreeing with me, and I don't really know what their problem is with Jingles, he makes entertaining videos (he isn't the best player but at least he is funny)

I think a lot of people don't understand my point because they don't have a small channel themselves.

Most people don't have the time to go through a list of 500+ videos.. A short list looks more appealing.

 

I thought the videos of the short list were also in the long list?
