given him some advice in a friendlier tone

If the OP had ask in a friendly tone in first instance, I am quite sure, he would have gotten an answer in a friendly tone...

What makes you think i play this game for stats ? Don't just assume i'm another stat addicted person so i can show off how good i'm at beating pixels, seriously.

If i wanted to play a game for stats i'd have not have picked this game.

So, complains about a personal stat and then complains when people take a look at his personal stats.

3/10 wouldn't read again (2 points for the flammable potential created, 1 point for entertainment value).

Anyway, harsh reality is OP is (currently) just bad at the game but there is a good side, the potential for improvement is huge. Watch some videos, ask questions in the forum about gameplay, whine less.

OP is not a new player.... 579 matches

He's got 199 matches under his belt in random, 579 is his wtr.

To the OP take a bit of time out from the game and watch some youtube channels about the game. Try this guys help an ensign series as a starter https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLpIStK0V3nVE-5yv_wVNYm2-rwfS4DIaL

Once you've watched a few of the basics pick one ship and try to get better in it, all the different classes play differently and have different roles and even within the classes different nationalities require different play styles. Also the ships have different shell velocities which can make learning how to lead a target correctly even more difficult if you're swapping ships every match.

You'll get better soon enough.

OK you made your point to OP. He typed it in frustration. I'm guessing next time he'll strike a more friendly tone. Wether or not the 108 losses are real I can say what is real are losing streaks. Thouroughly debated elsewere in the forum. OP is getting his first experiences in random battles. The most important similarities between that and coop IMO is there's water and boats. Human enemies don't go by the book. Tactics that might work in coop don't necesarily mean a thing in random.

OP: we all have those streaks. No exception. What I always do when I feel frustrated is the alt F4 hack. Or as I put it: the BLUNT maneouvre (better luck next time). Hang in, you'll get the egde sooner or later. Please next time let the agony fade away before you post. The forumpeople are really great! Don't feel afraid to ask a "stupid question." We all agree the most stupid question is the 1 you don't ask. There's only a allergy for whining threads and not being able to take your loss as a (wo)man! Oh, and a sense of humor in posts will do great as well!

I actually already tried to (which you wouldn't know) when he made equally ridiculous statements in ingame chat. But he just continued on his tirade against his teams and completely ignored any suggestion that he might not pull his own weight and that he needed to improve himself to get more wins (even as far as ignoring any possibility that anything he was doing in battles wasn't ideal).

Also, if you want a "friendly tone" then you don't start in the tone he uses. His presumption and arrogance in blaming losses on his teams and not himself at all is what gets him the responses he does. Hell I didn't even call him a troll even if what he's saying is extremely borderline to a troll.

If you're an XP pinâta for the enemy team yet don't realise it, then you lack insight. If you also then blame your teams, then you're arrogant, QED.

Well, ofcourse i couldnt know that you two have conversated ingame. So im out of this discussion

What in the world is WRONG with people on this forum. So many unfriendly posts. This is no way to welcome a relatively new player.

108 battles lost in a row might be a but excessive and smells like a troll, but he only played 200ish battles total and it is his 3rd post here.

Aggressive playing, aiming well, reading the minimap and learning what other ships can do to you...those are all things that needs to be learned.

Sometimes, especially low-tier, there can be fast loses and losing streaks. It gets frustrating. Happens to me too. Had a 8 game losing streak on my Fletcher with average 40k damage and 2-3 caps each game just this weekend.

I recommend you read a couple of the guides on this forum to Cruisers (CA) and the ones about aiming/damage and spotting mechanics.

There are youtube videos to teach you the same thing too. Then just chill around and stick with maybe 2 classes. For me Cruisers and DDs worked nicely at first.

Play Japanese ships, they are relatively forgiving and have torps. Maybe throw in a the US destroyer line later, or Russian dd line if you like gunboat style (but it is hard to play, so dont start there).

Once you feel ready, you can try Battleships. They will teach you how to aim, because you will die fast if you can't ;)

The tier 3 ones are garbage, so skip those, and maybe the Myogi too. If you get frustrated, jump into an Isokaze (IJN DD) and run circles around stuff and torp away to your hearts content. I loved that ship.

EDIT:

Well, ofcourse i couldnt know that you two have conversated ingame. So im out of this discussion

Thought the OP had come to the forum for help, not to vent or even troll (since he signed "extremely frustrated player").

Might be I'm out too. Will see where this thread go for now.

Taking a brief look at your performance it seems to me that the problem exists between the keyboard and chair. Not the teams, over the past 2 days you have a 46% win rating so losing 108 games in a row is impossible. On an average tier of 3-4 you're barely managing 10,000 damage. Maybe play some co-op or go back down to tier 1 for a while.

Poor troll is a poor troll. With a 45% W/R over 199 matches it is impossible for him to have lost 108 let alone in a row.

OP said he was frustrated so I gave him a break. I know the feeling. Clearly 108 losses in a row isn't true. It will not have happened on the server yet (I doubt it's happened in WoT)

But we can be constructive. I've already tried.

Point is if you don't know what you might be doing wrong then it does feel like your team is being useless. The key to improving is learning what you can do better. Shouting you suck doesn't usually help said frustrated player.

I came on here with "42% win rate. Am I doing something wrong" after a couple hundred games. Community said yes. Nicely. So I got the chance to get better.

You're probably too aggressive and get into situations where you die. First thing to do is learn to survive more.

Yea, playing to aggresively could be issue.

I've looked at your stats (also posted above); and it's extremely likely the other way around: you are playing too defensively/cowardly. Your overall survival rate is 15% higher than average, but your damage is 50% lower than average.

It seems you took noodles advice and started playing "less aggressively". Which now means that the last two days your survival rate is 57% higher than average but you only do 38% of the average damage.

In absolute numbers the average damage for the ships you play is 27k, and you do 10k. That's absurdly little damage.

My advice:

Get stuck in.

Impressive he went back in time to take my advice.

Good shout on the stats. If survival is high but damage low you're sitting too far back.

Of of course the best advice is to watch videos of good gameplay watch Notser on YouTube. And then division with better players.

Maje kes sure you understand game mechanics. Go read the newcomers section. All of it. Learn it. Find out what you are doing wrong. I did.  I didn't know about armour angling for ages...

One of the members of my clan has contacted OP and offered to give him a few lessons, and if he agrees a bunch of us will also do triple divs with him.

I agree. Such trolling is very annoying.

Surely it's not possible to have 108 losses in a row, must be a wind-up

The odds of losing 108 consecutive games would be "Hundreds of millions to one", it's the same as flipping a coin 108 times and getting heads every single time.

Just not possible :amazed:

I played in a game the other day that the OP was in.Way too defensive, sat back the whole game.So more or less, the team was a ship short in battles.Bit more aggression and his gameplay and results will change for the better.Practice makes perfect.

Gotta give the man credit for posting on the forum asking for help, instead of just rage quitting or blaming the team.

@OP:

1) Go on youtube and watch some of the helpful videos on World of Warships, explaining the basics. There are many easy to find and easy to use tips and tricks there.

2) Pick at least a class of ships to focus on. Get to know at least some of the ships in that class. Battleships are pretty easy to get used to. Don't stay way in the back, but don't lead the charge, don't broadside, aim for cruisers first so your DDs can do their job, then gang up on the enemy BBs. Unless they broadside you, in that case: use citadel. It is very effective. Maximum range shooting rarely works. Watch out for DDs. But if another class is more your type, go for it. Just make sure you at least do one class well and understand the roles and capabilities of each class. If you don't understand a DD at close range will torp you to pieces or that broadsiding an enemy BB is unwise, you are not going to have a good time.

2) Keep your eye on the objectives and on the enemy. Battles are often lost because no one caps or no one supporting those few who do, or when one wing of the team gets overwhelmed and the other wing doesn't come to their aid.

3) When you have three cap zones, capping A and C is often a bad choice, as the enemy will either take B and split up the team, or roflstomp one wing while the other is unable to support.

4) Help your team out. If they ask for help, help them if you can. An overwhelmed DD needs help ASAP or it is toast. No DDs? Your team can't cap and can't scout. No cruiser support? Enemy DDs are going to have a jolly good time. CV on your team is sneak attacked? You are going to have a bad time.

I dont wanna speak about your stats like others do: It's not polite do that.

It happens me too to lose 10-12 games in row....And maybe the day after I win 10-12 games in row.

When see you lose too much...simply logoff and do somewhat else, because it means MM is hating you (yes...MM is very fickle, like a woman).

I also suggest you to think about what you do wrong in battle. Maybe you play different ships class in wrong way. Maybe you are too agressive, or too scary in action...

...Try a different way and see.

as someone once told me if this was true(and clearly it isn't)you play 1000 games with a losing record there is only one thing that remains constant in those 1000 games and thats you.....(unless you platoon with the same person!!!)
