Why are there such a huge amount of afk players in the game?

Sorry if it has been mentioned in the topic, didnt bother to read all but:

 

If u see a ship inactive, and the turrets are still in neutral position 0° - 180°, then the player is disconnected. If the turrets turned towards the mouse pointer, the player is connected but afk. This rules out some more afk's.

Not everyone can afford good hardware and with the game not optimized very well, yeh things are bound to happen.

 

As long as people are not AFK after the 5 min mark. 

 

Also worth noting that at times people DC, and then they have to spend time starting the game up again and load in to the match, if it even allows for it. Some people decide to just stop for the day after a DC.

 

I have met more than a few that's come alive well after the five minute mark, game just loaded. Before this their guns pointed straight forward/backward. If they'd idled, their guns would go to one of the sides. I got an old 7570 card in my office computer that can load WoWs and WoT on schedule. You really need to be running 10+ year old computers, also called pocket calculators, to not be able to load the game on time or at least within the first 30 seconds after countdown.

 

Not afford good hardware... you do not need great hardware to play WoWs. I know a guy from the south eastern part of Europe, he scrounges hardware and refurbishes computers. It is not expensive, but people need to put some effort in to it.

I get the part that some people might have technical issues, I've had one in the last 240 games.

However, if a player is REGULARLY experiencing issues, IMO they should be polite enough to their team to stay in COOP only games.

 

Personally, I'd love to see something that OBLIGES players to play games in COOP is they're regularly AFK for over say 5 mins in a game.  e.g.

 - AFK once in the last 24 hours.  No penatly

 - AFK twice in the last 24 hours, obliged to play the next game coop

etc

I have a theory that at least some of the AFK are malfunctioning bots, could this be connected?

For all people with a upgrade to Windows 10, I advice you to do a clean install. I've had numerous problems with my laptop as well after the upgrade. So severe I was doubting my hardware, but after a clean install of Windows 10 I've had no problems anymore.

Some people still have trouble with loading times for the matches. WoWs is still not optimized in this regard, although it has gotten better after they "optimized" the file structure.

 

That should be the main reason why people arrive late to the party. I would not blame the game for every single time this happens since some people try to play games with potatoes:

Its a double edge sword. 

 

I load fast and just alt tab to reddit, WoWs forum, other game wikia's, pr0n etc etc

 

But then again i personally dont see many AFK people, probably just bads over exaggerating like you know always. And its probably those self-aware baddies who realize the game just became 10 vs 12 :trollface: .

Afk people more damage and credits for me.If they tend to stay afk most of the games its better this way ,atleast he wont be in my way while i try to win the game :P

I am experiencing more people who go afk when the game isn't going as planned (e.g. no bases, 4 ships down)
