I am pleased to announce the launch of the first ever Mikasa/Pre-dreadnought Appreciation Society event. This will take the form of a month long contest with an in-game event to celebrate the end at the beginning of September. While this is mainly aimed at the members of our society, there is a category that anyone on the forum can have a go at. I hope you all enjoy taking part PLEASE READ ALL THE RULES CAREFULLY! The contest is open from Monday 1st of August until Friday 26th of August. Winners will be announced on Monday 29th of August. The contest is only open to players on the EU server as the prizes will be from the EU premium shop. Categories 1, 2 & 3 are only open to members of the society who are already on the list of 60. People can still join the society, but will not be eligible for those three categories. I am doing this only to stop people joining the society just to win a prize. Only one entry per person per category. DO NOT post any results in this thread! A separate thread will be opened on Monday 22nd of August where you will be able to post your results. If a player comes top in both category 1 & 3, the player in 2nd place in one of the two categories will be declared the winner. To enter the replay contest you must be able to upload you replays to http://wowreplays.com/ and then you must post the link to it in the results thread. Please put "Mikasa contest" at the start of the name of your replay. While there are multiple prizes for each category, the winner will get to choose which one they want. I will PM the winner and ask which prize they would like. You can use this thread to ask me any questions about the contest and I will try to clear anything up. If you have any helpful advice I am also open to suggestion. Please note though that I will be on holiday from Monday 15th to Friday 19th so any questions you ask during that week will not be answered until the weekend I get back. To repeat the most important part: RESULTS THREAD NOW OPEN! (This is because as you can only submit a result for each category once, you can make sure you submit your best result from the 4 weeks that the contest is running) The contest categories Category 1: Open to Mikasa owning Society members only Most damage dealt in you Mikasa in a single battle (please post a screenshot of your battle results screens showing your total damage). Prize: Diana / Aurora / Full Speed Ahead flag pack / 2500 Doubloons Category 2: Open to non-Mikasa owning Society members only. Most damage dealt in any tier 2 or 3 ship in a single battle (please post a screenshot of your battle results screens showing your total damage). Prize: Mikasa / Diana / Full Speed Ahead flag pack / 2500 Doubloons Category 3: Open to Mikasa owning Society members only Replay contest. Your most epic or most funny moment while in your Mikasa. (please upload to http://wowreplays.com/ and then post the link in the results thread. Also please give me a rough idea of the time in the battle when the funny/epic moment happens) Prize: Diana / Aurora / Full Speed Ahead flag pack / 2500 Doubloons Category 4: Open to any non-Society players on the forum only Most damage dealt in any tier 2 or 3 ship in a single battle (please post a screenshot of your battle results screens showing your total damage). I was worried it would happen and low and behold...it did. I just knew there would be a bloody patch before I had a chance to view any replays!! I have not patched my game yet so I am hoping that any of you that have replays from 0.5.9.1 it should still work. I will try to keep you informed of what is happening. I will posting the thread for you results on Monday 22nd, most likely around 8:30BST/9:30CEST and it remain open until 18:00BST/17:00CEST on Friday 26th of August. Edit: Just tested with one of my 0.5.9.1 replays and I can view that, so I should be ok with your replays. I will patch to 0.5.10 when I have finished with the older replays. I thought it was only fair, better that than not having anyone win the category. I had hoped for a few more people joining in, but I'm still happy my first contest worked out.
