I was so happy when I first saw storm. Then I realized that storm [edited]up balance at all. If you a russian DD you are completly useless. it's cool some times but it cannot last 8 min...

2 min not more !!! Do you agree ???

It might interrupt your gameplay / tactics, but it doesn't break balance as its obviously the same for everyone. Its a natural phenomenom simulated in an already awesome game and IMHO I think it add so much more.

But definitely not a balance breaker.

In breaking balance you mean game changing? I've seen teams that were well on the way to an easy win derp from a sudden storm. Which is only a good thing.

And how do you adapt to carriers in storm? Their nerfed vision isn't a problem, but you can text to planes way to late to dodge anything. Spotted ships by friendly should be visible but you shouldn't know in carrier how they are angled against your incoming plane squads so he have a chance to react at least and the planes won't appear when they are about to drop. Every ship capability is nerfed, but carriers are stronger in storm than without it.

While they are a feature I very much like, I would agree that Cyclones sometimes last for way too long. Three or five minutes would be cool, twelve can be reeeeeally obnoxious.

The thing is when cyclone is up, you need to know what you are doing otherwise you get molested.

If you cant play mindgames or take risks cyclone drops a big dump on you.

Cyclone is awesome, just needs some creativity to abuse it to your advantage.

Cyclone force people to do most hated thing in the world , TEAMPLAY . If you are spread out , you are dead , but if you gather and move close to each other you can fast kill single enemy ships . But expecting this kind of god level tactics "don't go solo" from players is like waiting for snow on a desert

I agree that the shitweather simulator is total [edited]. Gunboats and cruisers are suddenly useless. Carriers can just park until storm is over because you can't see crapand if you accidentally fly over a Kutuzov which you would have normally avoided like the plague, say goodbye to all your planes. Shitweather simulator completely screws up the balance in the game and makes it totally random. Skill is mostly eliminated from the game because you can't plan ahead and position yourself correctly to play to the strength of your ship and avoid its weaknesses. Instead you have random knife fights with random outcome.

The storm makes you adjust. Every match ive seen its the team that best handles the change that wins. if you cant or wont adjust to the changing conditions then expect to be redundant/lose/die.

If your entire game is sitting at the back sniping expect to be very redundant. Tirpitz player i see occationally says weather lets hims turn into a 52k Tonne freddie krueger and leap out of the weather to scare folk.

I really like the storm in this game... if you ask me they can add more stuff like this. Best thing about cyclone? When I'm in my Tirpitz! View distance goes down to 8 km and BAM! the brawling german BB is in business.

My best thing that happened during cylcone is finding a 60k hp yamato broadside on to my North Carolina and me deleting him with some well placed citadels.

Why can't you group up with the team and cap a base? Chances are the other team gives up like you seem to do, or you'll have a nice knife fight in the cap :)

I like storms, always exciting and it promotes cooperation.

Nothing is more boring than sailing around in a storm for many minutes while finding nothing. If it was just a few minutes I might enjoy it.

Duration is the issue. 3-5 might be too short though, as people could just conclude "I'll wait it out" and not move up. The reason I like the Cyclones in principle, and initially, in a battle, is that it forces people to come together around the caps or natural bottlenecks. This leads to some very entertaining fights. But when it drags on it tends to simply cause one team fold like a deck of cards as they are picked off one by one. And if one or a few ships were caught in a distant location (say capping D on North) it can be a very boring thing to go through 12 minutes of it.

What about nerfing the RoF of every single ship in the game to 1,75. It is obvioulsy the same for everyone, therefore balanced.

logic/10

A carrier can see with his planes up to 3km, not 8km like ships. As others pointed out, that means you will start being shot down by AAA long before you can see the thing shooting at you.

Carriers are not the class which benefits the most, brawlers benefit the most. And with brawler I mean anything which has an incredibly high alpha strike ( BB's vs cruiser or anything with torpedo's against anything which can't avoid them ). The one's who suffer the most are those who rely on DoT ( Damage Over Time ) and not getting shot back.

No, WG don't totally screw up game.

Indeed. That is why they listen to reason and they have storms. Which might be tweaked a bit here and there, but since most of us seem to enjoy them, WG is actually improving the game.

Your points are valid, but it seems people like the random element a bit. And since this random element is the same for everyone ( well except as noted before, it affects different ships in different way/severities ) it's also not really unfair.

It's pure AIDS, makes a slow game even more slow paced. There is nothing good about it... also buffs DDs and CVs.

I like it. Especially when I'm bottom tier. In anything.

It also helps that I now know which games they are going to affect. You can tell at the start... So I warn my team.

I like that you have to adapt and adjust. It is a buff for anyone with a tactical brain and a nerf to anyone who relies on "twitch skills" and standard "accepted meta".

Think outside the box. Know your ship and your enemy's capabilities. Use the storm to your advantage.
