Probably IJN CV or German cruisers (or wait for the BBs). I enjoyed most lines I played but some of them have become a bit boring - not like I perfected any of those but I just played them a bit too often.

I wouldn't go for a single line only.

I'm getting bored fast by playing the same ship over and over again, so rather than going for a single line I'd go for a whole TechTree.

That would in my case be the IJN tree because there are a lot of ships in every line I really enjoy to play.

I would not listen to this advice.

Just go ask around how many people who actually play CVs recommend CVs.

Personally, I would go for Japanese cruisers or Japanese battleships. Both lines are fairly strong all around and culminate in pretty much the two strongest ships in the game. I recommend dabbling in all the lines though also don't get discouraged by the Kawachi and Myogi, the line gets quite a bit better later.

I would do the same as I did after CBT... starting with IJN DD and CA, but at the same time starting every other line, except CV, too.

well .. i think this also counts.

i started last week and i started playing ze german cruisers.

hermelin and dresden are powerhouses and really fun to play. kolberg was ok ... a little weak but playable. karlsruhe ... oh boy ... lets just say, that i am experienced enough to know, when i have to play pve and stay away from pvp. what a horrible vessel. i am now playing the königsberg and ist either op or a wreck. this boat depends on your group, luck and the enemy. ist hard to play and unforgiving. it does have the potential to destroy everything within an few, well placed mid-close range ap-salvos ... but you will get your face malted if something does not work to a 100%. the artillery mode is ... working but shell dispersion either works or does not.

German cruisers after tier 4 are not something i would recomment as the first tree to play.

a very challenging line (i already tried the other ones ;) )

Simple question - what line would you go for? :)

Without any prior knowledge of the game/classes, probably the German Cruiser line and the IJN Battleship line. I wouldnt buy any premiums until I was happy I understood the game mechanics/play-style better, even then I would stay away from higher level premiums.

If one assumes that happiness comes from a good game, and winning, then I'd look at Warships.today and take note of the ships that do rather well.

So if I was going to start a new account today, I'd get a few good credit earning premiums such as the Murmansk, Marblehead or similar, for captain training and credit income. But most of all I'd progress most lines and then keep the ships that you enjoy playing and have fun in. I would advise looking at lots of you tubers for tips on how to play the ships. I would also read up on the modules for each ship, as quite a few are not worth having. And I'd never play a ship stock, wait until you have the free XP to at least get the best hulls and guns. Just like WoT ignore the hype surrounding a real ship, how a ship plays in this game is quite divorced from history and reality.

Oh and read the forums!

I have played every line (to at least tier 7) and still have more than 80 ships in my port even after selling almost all carriers... and if I had enough time, I would play all lines if starting now. If no time to play all lines and I would be forced to choose only 2, I would choose US Destroyers and German Cruisers. I also have all premium ships, except Gremmy and Kitakami. I would recommend to buy Tirpitz for premium. If need premium for other nations, then US = sims, Japanese = Atago, Russia = Kutuzov... No... there is no Royal Navy line...

I guess it depends upon what tier you want to play at.

USN CA and IJN DD are very strong up to T5/6 but become comparatively weak after that, USN DD are terrible up to T6/7 but are extremely formidable at T8+.

I think I would do the same as I do now in this order;
IJN BB's
IJN CA's

IJN DD's

KM CA's

USN CA's

USN BB's

USN DD's

I would not bother at all with any CV's nor Ruskie boats. Not that I've spent any significant time with them as is. :)

No such thing as terrible USN DD imo. Weakest ship in the line, Mahan, is still a decent ship

Maybe terrible is too strong a word but the lower tier ones are difficult to play and weak compared to the IJN equivalent.

Personally I quite liked the Mahan, Farragut and Nicholas were the two I really didn't get along with.  Suicide range torpedoes are okay at T3 but once you are getting into T7/8 not so much.

Pretty much the same: all non-CV lines. I only wouldn't rush through the tiers as I did in the beginning. Having the delusion it would become easier by reaching higher tiers. I'd only avoid the USN cruiserline though. Somehow I can't make them to function at all. Was 1 big disapointment for me. I now stopped at the Baltiless. THe 1 thing they do excell in for me is their extreme powerful citadel magnet.

Only thing I'd do differently is, I wouldn't buy any carriers. They are just not the class for me. Main lines would be IJN cruisers and battleships, USN battleships and destroyers. Russian destroyers and German cruisers.

I'd even buy the Mikasa again.  :)

US CVs possibly. I'm not doing them with my current account. British cruisers is also a possibility if I don't happen to get more slots by the time they arrive.
