Green color for positive Karma players?

Hey there WG.

 

im happy to play this game, and i tend to see the good of the players.

Would it not be nice to give a benefit for those who are in positive karma. And not just any regulare like +1 is good. But from a certain point. f.e. 50 or 100+.

 

So for those players who like to play and help out on certain things in order to keep the community positive and happy.

Instead of making players pink when ur a teamkiller, give certain colors to those who behave more often bad or good. Like Green for Good/Friendly players.

They could make it so that reporting only works from upper class Karma to lower class Karma... The plebs would be useless for unreasonable reports :)

Heh, might be nice. Since there is no real benefit on karma (or is there, tell me if I'm wrong because i wanna know), it would be just a nice addition. It would probably lead to an increase in envy-reporting but then again one does not need to take so bloody seriously right? I'm all for this...

Karma can be artificially improved, i.e. when you're an active player and get along well with others, they'll commend you regardless of how much that might be deserved in that battle.

The way it's implemented the karma system is entirely worthless.

 

maybe worthless for players, but i am sure WG support really appreciates the karma system. they would have 10x more tickets if there wasnt one.

True dat, but that doesn't bother me actually. All in the spirit of some fun you know. Not to be taken too seriously. I rarely get recommendations myself, as I often fail to chat during the game (i am slow, so it takes all my attention to just pay attention to what I'm doing and chatting usually gets me killed real fast). But this sound like a bit of rather harmless fun for the time being.

its funny how many people probably had the same or very similar thought process regarding this and it would be so funny.

You wont be green for more than one match :trollface:

Game should ask you to nominate a "Most Valuable Player" at the end of the match.

 

The person with the most votes gets Positive Karma + an MVP medal.

 

If you don't nominate a player it will default to the player with the most XP.

 

I know it can be abused but you get nothing particularly useful out of it other than possibly some recognition from the players.

To my understanding, this is the very reason why positive karma thingy exists. Although I agree with you that votes from the same division members should be excluded.

Can't wait to issue negative karma to those with 'green karma'.  You know this will happen if your idea comes through because people are a§§holes at their heart.

Votes from Division mates are excluded. I meant that when you run into the same people, i.e. from friendly clans, they might give you a +1 regardless.

Yah, this might be an issue. However, if division members can be excluded, so are the upcoming clans. As for unofficial clans, if a player managed to get such a big list of friends (which remember each other without additional tags) that his karma is significantly skewed, in my eyes he deserves to have high karma - he must have did something good to befriend so many people. After all, groups of assholes are more of an exception than a rule :)  Even if karma would be associated with bonus XP in specific battle, it is difficult to meet friends reliably.

So the easiest way to artificially boost karma and rip rewards from it is to simply be nice to everyone. And that is kinda win-win situation.

i would love to see positive Karma being rewarded in matches, maybe with a tangible bonus as well ( maybe +5% xp gain or something ) and a similar nerf to bad karma ( -5% xp ) 

 

hopefully it would reduce the amount of people in the game who start hurling insults at their team and generally making a complete fool out of themselves because they were sunk, and promote teamwork and constructive comments ( as people would be fishing for +1 Karma ) I could well see myself giving a +1 to an enemy player who takes the time to write 'nice shot, well played' etc into the chat, or a friendly that Escorts a BB etc and a -1 to someone who yells out 'F*****G HAX' ( along with various comments about my mother ). It would both punish A-Holes and reward decent folk and give an incentive to get good Karma. 

 

Sure it is open for abuse for people with large clan networks, but any reward system can be abused if you try hard enough

Global chat: Hi enemy team I wish you good luck and win! (4+ karma from enemy and 11- karma from friendly team, wut???)

All in all I get -2 karma for this battle :) And I wish to all good things :) No hate,insults... :) And Im -2 for all good chat lol

If you connected this with some xp/credit-gain/loss you will get only insane chat spam all the time and result will be non sense

Maybe WG could add a new signal that only gets awarded for karma points. One karma point grands you 10 flags. So the system would make finally some kind of sense. It would be a nice bonus for the players and people would see that you have good karma (for ten games at last) and it has otherwise no lasting effects for the game economy.

10 flags is quite overrated if u see WG's flag spending on every people. (f.e. getting 1 rank extra allready gives 50 flags of some kinds)
