You are always welcome. Just reach behind the counter for the real cheese. We leave the rubber stuff out for those that don’t know the difference.

Ugh you have no idea...
5 year living in the USA, still traumatized by the cheese that comes out of a pressurized can.

America pls...

@Historynerd
Great find for that screenshot, the ship looks amazing and those turrets....
Lovely.

I brought homemade lasagna(béchamel) to work after thanksgiving. I still had some Trentino that I grated and a couple of my coworkers could only talk about the cheese.

Alas I can’t really talk too much. my best friend always asks me to bring back “that orange cheese” when I go home. And now tortillas are available in the store in our town he has become an American quesadilla fanatic.:cap_fainting:

Flamu was streaming it just now...

Saw the end of the match, he killed off a Yamato and a Conqueror, then a cheeky Neptune popped up from behind and finished him. A 156K damage match.

It'll be interesting to see what he thinks of it.

Hmh. Seems there's still very few actual gameplay videos of it.

It figures.

It's not like it's the only ship undergoing live testing right now. Those who have access to it are still doing the deed, and at most streaming it.

The prepared videos will come later.

For now, I'm content with seeing the Conqueror going down! :Smile_izmena: XD

Most people wait to post their best videos. The video I linked to the guy just melts the incoming bombers, I wouldn't expect that to happen...ever. :Smile_hiding:

Example: The streamers are getting away with kiting for right now. However eventually aiming for III turret barbette will probably become a thing.

The barbette is a weak spot, no doubt, but does the game go the IRL way, i.e. you achieve penetration only if you strike it at a normal angle, and bounce off when you go to the sides?

it's probably a dumb question, but it comes from a dumb player, so... :Smile_hiding:

How often will you ever be so close to be able to aim at a barbette? If you're close enough to reliably hit something that small, you might as well aim for something bigger, where you can reliably hit every shot fired. Like the rear wall of the citadel? Because aiming higher, at the barbette would make most shots miss and hit the superstructure, right?

It's not small. If someone is kiting away aim for the stern, it's not about aiming high.

So with 2 different planes modeled there, can it launch both a spotter and a fighter at the same time, or somerhing?

EDIT:

According to the video that is not the case, so they're just for scenery.

Saw the video.

It really seems confortable to play. The guns are really nice, and the ship seems very responsive and agile for its size. Quite the ship, but doesn't seems to powercreep either.

And the guns hurts battleships like hell which is a good thing. Enough cruisers killers.

This was noted on the French battleships sneaky peak. Maybe WG is working on something in the background and it is too early to say. :p

So...

From a hurried and partial look at these vids, it looks like the Mod. 1934 are delivering what they promised. They seem punchy, even when you don't get a citadel you do get quite a bit of full pens; unless you have a BB citadel sitting deeper than the Mariana Trench, going broadside against you is not recommended. It definitely isn't a mere cruiser-killer weapon. And the dispersion isn't perfect but isn't awful either.

The armor seems alright; even when you're not angled you can deal ok with what other Tier 8 BBs can throw at you. Squishy isn't a word I'd use for the Roma, I'd say...

It moves rather well, not quite on a dime, but well enough.

Secondaries and AA are what we were expecting. Just above the firework level; but at least the 90 mm can set some fires.

The concealment... well, maybe I'm not used to that gameplay style, or maybe it's my inexperience talking, but it doesn't seem that hot to me as it is on the Cesare. Or maybe it's the fact that at 30 knots the Roma cannot leave most enemy BBs in the dust like the Cesare.

From couple of streams I watched Roma seems quite tanky.

She can take a beating even from GKs and Montanas.

Also took 4 torps on the belt like a pro and still could fight with decent chunk of HP left.

Is the TDS value already patched to the higher level?

I believe so. I spent the evening at the hospital so I only watched nozoup's vid and part of flamu's stream before passing out last night. However I recall mention of the TDS being near 40%. Torpedo bulge extends from under turret I to just short of the rear most of the barbette of turret III.

The armor is spaced as has been seen before.

I don't suppose you could post a picture showing just what the in-game armor viewer considers citadel armor?

Overall, she seems like quite a solid ship. Zoup mentioned she felt really nice handling, so I imagine she's quite maneuverable by the standards of tier VIII. The guns look glorious.

So, Flamu left one question remaining:

How does she fare against AP bombs? :Smile_trollface:

He stated the ship gets deleted by TIX/TX carriers if I understood correctly.
