In the new "CV meta"?

DP guns + Bofors, AA build and DFAA should do something.

"only" something like three times the Gearing's AA strength on Friesland... topkek.jpg I am looking forward to this!

The Dutch DD Bofors 120 mm DP guns have a rate of fire of 40 / 42 rds a minute. But historical only one type of ammunition (HE only)

So only 2 turrets but with a possible 1,5 sec reload it can be compared with ships with the double number of dual turrets.

DPM right between Gearing and Harugumo in fact - and with 8% base fire chance... I'm just gonna repeat myself...

So, Siegfried actually has cruiser dispersion and seemingly Graf Spee torps and launchers (8km quadruple). It also has a decent midrange AA, though ongrange is bad.

That would look pretty decent, but the reload is at 26 seconds, so...

Also it looks to be very high in the water and the plating only bounces 15 inch guns at best.

Considering 380mm guns we have in game have more penetration than any other large cruiser guns including Stalinpleb AND at least some overmatch options...

Stalingrad wants a word with you:

The "extra glide"™ "super teflon"™ shells from the future are just too much.

Yeah, but so did Akuzki's 100mm, so I wouldn't worry to much about that part.

Also - what dyou want more ? One more main gun that fires at the same speed, and torpedoes aswell ? No way such an op DD would even exist in the first place right~

Apparently that german cruiser is getting 6x380mm guns with 26 seconds reload. At tier 9....

wtf does it fire? Depleted uranium?

It will probably have the reload decreased to 20-22 secs after testing,  otherwise it will not work.

Fair enough - so how do you think it'll stack up against a T10 CV?  That first strike is still getting through all that isn't it?

Are these cash, FreeXP or Coal ships?

Most tier 9 ( Azuma, Alaska, Kronshtadt, Jean  Bart, Musashi, Missouri) were coal or free XP.

However, 2 of them (Black and News) were steel.

Yes. So WG didn’t indicate anything on the stream?

Not yet known unfortunately but i really hope that they will be offered with at least 2 forms of payment so that even those without the free xp or coal hoard to pay for them can still have an alternative way of getting them.

I would be pi**ed off beyond belief if Friesland is locked behind steel.

Until you realize you only have 6 AA guns in extremely exposed positions, meaning after an attack or two your AA is gonna be dead.

Also looks like a gigantic target to facilitate rocket saturation to me.

AND no close range AA.

Yeah, regardless of what they say this is not an AA ship.

The germans also have a region known as east friesland so i can forgive this.

I dont know about the friesland it looks rather bulky and vulnerable (but seriously i want that ship ASAP i hope its free-xp and/or money)

Sorry mate but you mixed ships. That ship is too modern. This is correct version

Friesland3.jpg

Its guns might looks little strange, pointed upwards, but seems that this is done for better AA.

Dont forget that 6th module mbrb will push the reload down to 23secs + CA accuracy + BB Calibre shells, makes for a very tasty schnitzel :Smile_trollface:

You are probably correct and i can see the additional lenght of the gun barrels would allow for a higher velocity for the shells though it does have a strange muzzle brake.

SS Friesland in your picture is also somewhat wrong SS Friesland. This C3 class Cargo was mostly known as S.S. Abbekerk (was named Friesland for less than a year)

Ship that was commonly known as Friesland was another C3 class cargo.

1961-ss-Friesland.jpg

Before being rebuild and named Friesland, it served in Royal Navy as D03 HMS Ranee

Friesland looks like it could be interesting, but I'm still not sure about a DD without torpedoes. Also, I would have prefered not to have even more post war ships. Most of the post-war ships we have in the game are at least based on late-war technology (i.e. their plans are from war times). Friesland however was designed after the war. At least she's pretty.

So is the O-class battlecruiser (looks like a mixture between FdG and Gneisenau). We'll have to see about the performance, but the name is just wrong, imo. Are there no people from German history left to name the ship after? Alternatively maybe use something like Markgraf or Kronprinz, definitely better then Siegfried to my ears.

Apart from everything else, I find it pretty dumb to just say something that has "Italian" in it, likely hoping to placate those who ask about the RM lines.

Just... what's the point in saying "the first Italian line will be the cruiser one"? DUH!

Just keep silent and announce the cruisers when they're ready. Perhaps there's a flimsy chance we might glimpse them before the year's out.

If they reduce reload, they will [edited]with the dispersion. They might do it anyway. 380mm guns with Cruiser dispersion WILL be OP imo.

They explicitly refused to say what they would be. There is a good chance they simply havent decided yet, and will depend on what else is on the release schedule (you dont release 2 steel ships back to back)
