And I'd need to save up more coal, if I want to be able to get any of the coming more expensive coal ships. I'm probably gonna be getting Alaska immediately anyway so I can relay my experiences to the rest of my clan before they commit to spending 1m FXP that they have a lower amount of. I kinda expected Neustrashimy to be FreeXP specifically because no FreeXP (or even coal) high tier DD has been available (while ironically, Black is also available for steel). But wow, not only will I have a ton of large cruisers myself, but everybody will. I generally dont see too much point on playing T9 ships, they have 90% T10 matchmaking and the Tier10 variants are a lot better. Why would I play it over the Alaska or the Ibuki ever? I agree, Azuma looks kinda meh, atleast when flamu played it. Huge size, no armor, big citadel and low HP. I think it would need an HP buff. Kronshtadt has much more HP with the same armor but citadel is better protected. Even the Dispersion seemed totaly questionable. Yesterday he tried to punish a broadside moskva at midrange. He couldnt kill it because the salvos ranged from 0-2 citas + 1 bad aimed salvo. Every BB would have killed that moskva much faster. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Azuma seems to work just fine in this meta though, Long range HE spamming with shorter time to target than Zao is a feat in itself. Couple that with 19.1km base range and spotter plane on demand makes Azuma a better fit in this meta than Alaska that needs to go closer due to relatively bad time to target and a radar. And even then, I'm not convinced the cruiser dispersion and somewhat faster shells are that much of a benefit over Alaska. Either way, you pay for that with armor, hp, utility (no hydro, no radar) and manoeuvrability. I'm wondering if maybe I should start considering the purchase of Black. Neustrashimy being a steel ship might indeed be an indication of a reshuffle. But do i want to spend all of my steel on a DD?
